My wife is a huge do-it-yourselfer when it comes to refurbishing old furniture. She attends estate sales all the time. Check out her blog for ideas it is called "Three Men and a Lady".

This product image released by Fresh Home shows milk paint being applied to a wooden table. Mix the milk paint per the manufacturer's instructions. Apply the first coat, then when dry, lightly sand to remove "fuzz". Apply second coat.
