It was not a coup. Everything was done legally. Please go to the Wall Street Journal Opinion Page (free) and read what Mary O'grady had to say about it. She is an expert on the America's and a very good writer. Also read some of the comments to get a complete picture of what's going on.

Impeachment proceedings in the US do not receive the name of coup. However, the constitutional proceeding in Honduras is being referred to as coup by the US government and the media.

Most of the population of Honduras is in favor of Mr. Zelaya's ouster. It is difficult to understand how the US could seemingly support such a left wing leader who has had such a completely corrupt administration. Mr. Zelaya's only aim is to become dictator of Honduras. He has no leanings whatsoever toward democracy. I have a hard time figuring out how those who talk so much about democracy are so completely against it.

The greatest part of the unrest in Honduras is being financed by Hugo Chavez who has other than democratic leanings.
