ESPN is reporting that the Jazz are sending Carlos Boozer to the Bulls for Tyrus Thomas, and the Bulls will send Kirk Hinrich to Portland. If this is true Portland will not make an atempt to sign Millsap. I hope that it is not true. It seems that the Jazz can find a better deal than this.

IF BOOZER IS GOING TO CHICAGO
AND CHICAGO SENDS HINRICH TO PORTLAND AND SENDS THOMAS TO UTAH..WHAT IS PORTLAND GIVING UP?

Cowboy Joe, you are funny. Do the math and try again. But you did get Anonymous to bite. Got to hand that to you. And who was the poster who said Millsap is worth 10 million? Not even worth a comment.

Tyrus Thomas is one of the most athletic PFs in the game. He is a very raw talent that is really young, 22. He has played in about 92% of the games of his 3 year career. He is very up and down. This would work out wonderfully for the Jazz if they could get him. He was the freshman of the year in the SEC and co-defensive player of the year. He was a 4th round draft pick and was on the all rookie 2nd team. This year will be his 4th in the league and that is usually when players show what they will be. He finished last year very strong, though he was very inconsistent for the year as a whole. He is not quite as good of an offensive player as Boozer yet but a huge upgrade defensively. He is a tough kid and from Louisiana. If the Jazz can get him they should jump on it. We will not be dissapointed. In the Jazz system he would probably put up at least 18 and 9 with a few blocks and a steal a game.

***4th overall pick not 4th round
Milsaps Muscle | 5:03 p.m. July 9, 2009
and thats what Utah needs is muscle & toughness, so total tough players that Utah has that are not afraid to mix it up with anyone ?? = 1 Milsap, unless Harpring's still around then 2, Jazz are so week physically, they couldn't even win a Street Fight in Provo, UT.

I did the Math. You take Boozer's salary and than you add Hinrich and Thomas's salary together and the trade works. That is why Portland is not giving up anything than cap space to the Jazz.
Actually... | 5:06 p.m. July 9, 2009
Thomas is a Paul Milsap clone. So basically we give up boozer for Milsap and Thomas...2 great players,we will make the playoffs, and be bounced in the 1st or 2nd round. With Boozer, at least a healthy, motivated Boozer playing for a new contract we can at least have a shot at something...
Miles | 5:08 p.m. July 9, 2009
@Chadders....Thomas is a bust. For a 4th pick, he has proven nothing. Keep Boozer before taking on this bad talent. He can not shoot and can not run the pick n roll Jerry style. Bad trade. Really bad trade. Stackhouse is available.

@ Miles:

You never answer a simple question. I am asking YOU, Mr. dump everybody on the team but CJ, what YOU think the Jazz can get.

I don't think it's smart to let 2 strong PF players go with the chance you can pick up another guy. You'd be losing 2 quality players for one. That doesn't add up to me.
STEVE-O | 5:14 p.m. July 9, 2009
I won't get excited about Tyrus Thomas, partly because I doubt this is even a legit statement, partly because he's not too great.
One positive was his performance in last year's playoffs. I felt like he played very well and won a game for the Bulls basically by himself.
Like I said... fun to think about Boozer leaving, but it's not gonna happen for Tyrus Thomas.

Re:Miles
Thomas a bust? He's still on his rookie contract!!! I will be the first to admit the dude is waaaaaay up and down but his upside is more than Millsap and Boozer combined. In the playoffs against Boston he averaged 2.9 blocks and 9.6 points and 6.3 points and 1 steal in only 28 minutes! He hasn't even touched his ceiling yet. He was a big big reason why the bulls celtics games went 7 games. He does have a lot of work to do to be a complete player but our defense would improve dramatically with Thomas over Boozer. Not to mention last year he only earned 3 mil. I'm with you he isn't as good as Boozer yet but he will be. Just watch. I really really really hope we pull the trigger on this.

Check out ESPN, supposedly there are trade talks between Portland, Chicago, and the Jazz. Boozer to the Bulls, Hinrich to the Blazers and Thomas to the Jazz.

Millsap deserves a raise, no doubt about that, it's nice to hear a that another team is in the process of making an concrete offer to Millsap, that's good news to him, at least that team will set the bar on how much Millsap really worth,. I think the Jazz front office must double their efforts in trying to trade either Boozer or Kirilenko very quickly, so then can match any offer that Millsap will receive, otherwise say goodbye to Millsap, a type of player that is very seldom to see now a days
Koufos | 6:21 p.m. July 9, 2009
To everyone thinking Koufos can play and help out you are wrong. He will never be anything. And Drew Gooden would be a waste of time.

jazz are going nowhere fast this coming season...get rid of boozer and his 12 + million last year contract....we all wanted him to opt out and walk away anyway so who cares what we get for him.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cut out the cancer and we will feel better!!
what the heck? | 6:34 p.m. July 9, 2009
Shawn Marion and Varejao are gone. so the Jazz really need to jump on a good contract for Millsap. I will throw up if Millsap goes to the Blazers. C'mon Jazz. What the Heck???!!!!
Idiocy | 7:31 p.m. July 9, 2009
Hey you kids, stop fidgeting!

While the rest of the league panics, making move after move in, need I remind you, a weak FA market after one of the weakest drafts in years, the Jazz will know each other better than any other contender.

Experience, together, is underrated.

The Jazz can't miss the postseason with Houston and Phoenix blown up, and N.O. In dire straits. Win the division and Utah is a lock for a first-round home series.
Miles | 8:46 p.m. July 9, 2009
Steve-OO.......Well let's see we have 20 million dollars and in 2010 Bosh, Stoudire and Nowitzki are available. So is Wade at the 2 guard. Joe Johnson and Redd. Who do you want. There will plenty of premiere players who are better than either Boozer and Millsap for the money. Heck LeBron might even like living in the Mountains by next year.
mercyfulf8 | 9:21 p.m. July 9, 2009
Seriously,
Milsap doesn't have a contract on the table from anyone. When it comes down to it he will take the 1 year qualifying offer, or he will get the full MLE. Milsap is far from a proven commodity and in the end no one will overpay. Milsap to Portland is just a rumor. Aldridge is a far superior player that will demand a fat contract next season. It makes no sense for Portland to offer Milsap a contract.
CJ3 | 10:06 p.m. July 9, 2009
Got some eye-opening reality for those of you that are too emotionally involved to see any better.

Boozer IS that much better on offense, and hardly worse in TO rate. Since he plays less minutes we will be using Millsap's per-36 #s. Both are for 2009.

Turnovers per-game:
Boozer 2.1 (2.4 per 36)
Millsap 2.0

Fouls:
Boozer 3.6
Millsap 4.5!!!

Playoffs:
Boozer, 186 min 103 pts, or 20.6 per-game
Millsap, 155 min 59 pts, or 11.8 per-game

Millsap's not going anywhere, least of all to Por where he'd be paid that much to warm the bench for Aldridge. It's a Pritchard bluff.
Come on Jazz fans | 11:58 p.m. July 9, 2009
Jazz will resign Milsap. If they don't it will be ahuge mistake. First off, Koufus is an unknown. He played okay when given a chance but the bar wasn't set very high(especially with all the injuries)
There was a time when Utah fans rewarded hard working players. Milsap is right to want a substantial raise and the Jazz would be right to be the team giving it to him.
Look how hard he worked when making less than a million a year. How much money do we pay Boozer and he is the biggest wimp in the league.
The fact is that Milsap works hard, hustles and plays hurt. The Jazz are coached by Jerry Sloan. Milsap is a great rebounder and is playing in a system that is all about hustle, deflections and hitting the boardss
Why Milsap? Cause he is a perfect fit, he is unselfish, Jerry Sloan loves him(which in my book is reason enough) and the biggest reason of all..............because he's not anything like Carlos Boozer!

It's no wonder | 10:38 a.m. July 11, 2009
Millsap doesn't want to be here.

Even his fans can't spell his name correctly.

For being touted as the most educated fanbase this is pathetic.

2 "L's" people! Have some respect.
