What "alternative green energy'?There is none that can even come close to natural gas,and oil. Except nuclear maybe. But this bunch won't allow that. This is not about climate change. It is about power, control, and wealth. No where in this article have I read anything about manufacturing GROWTH.What business will plan any long term plans to expand? No, they will look to down-size or move.Move to a country that doesn't have this nonsense.Green jobs? An oxy-moron.Spain has this system and thier unemployment rate is 18.5%!

Yeah, act on the climate | 11:16 a.m. July 7, 2009
Senators, please don't read the bill. Please don't read the research. Don't question the crumbling climate "consensus." And, whatever you do, don't listen to your constituents!

Just act! Now! Before it's too late!

Sad.

What ever happended to, "first, do no harm?" The burden is on the tree huggers to show that any action they are demanding is better than doing nothing.

They have failed miserably to do so.

Why, then, the rush to economic catastrophe? All recent indicators show a cooling trend. Why don't tree huggers see that as breathing space? A chance to reassess in light of new information? Certainly recent data suggest they should. Good science suggests they should. Why don't they want to?

What's their hidden agenda?

Too bad they seem unable to learn from the past. So sad they can't seem to understand -- at least until it's way too late -- that the first victim of the destruction of the American economy will be the world's environment.

Seems kinda anti-environmental, to me.

There is NO global warming happening to this planet. For the last 10 or more years the temperatures of this planet have been DECREASING; Polar bears are GROWING in numbers and are much more numerous than they were 25 years ago; Al Gore is a liar; he owns a multi-million dollar home that has an indoor, heated swimming pool; he travels around this country and maybe other continents in his own JET burning thousands of gallons of AV JET and WARNING US about "Global Warming" and expects us to believe him. And, Barack Hussien Obama has no idea what Gore is talking about with this whole thing because there is none. And, if he is able to convince us with this non-sense our grand-children, great grand-children, etc, will be paying for this lie for many, many years to come.

I hope that we as a people of this great country will figure this out and give Barack Hussien a swift kick out of the white house rear door in 2012.

The other day I drove across Minnesota. There are 1000's of windmills to produce "alternative green energy", yet not one of them was spinning. It was a calm day.

If the USA were to become too dependent on this type of power generation, I guess we would become just like all the rest of the third-world countries and not have electricity 24 hours a day.

That is what Mr. Obama wants, right? Equality for all.

HEY OBAMA, "READ MY LIPS - NO NEW TAXES" on me, a disabled elderly person, that's not a RINO or Moderate, just a true Republican, don't push it, some of us know how YOU got elected. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) is waiting for an answer to his June 8 letter to Attorney General Holder. And he may wait a good while longer because the Justice Department doesn't want to explain its decision to dismiss its civil case the worst case of voter intimidation in many years and not pursue a criminal indictment. Wolf's letter asks why the Justice Department dismissed a default judgment and dropped the case against the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, which Wolf's letter describes as a militant supremacist organization and hate group and its two members who threatened voters as part of a national voter intimidation effort on Election Day last November.

This is great nothing like raising the costs of our energy bills to help us out of a recession. Environmentalist say this will help us get off coal power. How does this bill do it? It raises your electric bills so that it will be cheaper to use green power. Call up and see just how much it would cost to put solar panels on your roof. Divide that number by your monthly bill and then divide that by 12 and you will have around 80 years. This bill doesn’t lock in the tax it creates the ability to tax us so ask yourselves is $16 a month going to cause you to spend 80 years of electric bills to buy solar no so they will have to increase your bill till you buy them. Like $300 a month. That is how this works. Kinda like light bulbs spend $4 on a CFL or 10 cents on a blub that lasts longer gives more light and will cost you less over the life of it. Why does the UN like this bill? you will buy credits from some small country and we spread the wealth.
a cooler climate. | 2:56 p.m. July 7, 2009
Fear mongering! Take an educated look at global warming, not a special interest look. Obama is ramming through laws and taxes on a subject that has been cooling for the last 11 years! Stop the knee jerk legislation and misrepresentation.

We need to hurry and pass this so we can move on to taxing droughts and floods.
