this a sign of how the Jazz will perform this coming season, this is not good at all, unless we trade Boozer immediately, and also AK, if possible

What a shame. I know this Summer League isn't too important, but it would have been a goo dopportunity for a player like Koufos to show his improvements and get used to players like Maynor who he'll be playing with on the second string.

Still think that Koufos will come good for the Jazz and could be the defensive bid-man that we've craved for years. Time will tell as long as Sloan gives him his chances!

yea a bunch of third stringers who don't know how to run the offense... great sign. let me guess the second coming is right behind the awful season the jazz will have. good one. you sir are a true prophet.

Summer Leagues? | 8:50 a.m. July 7, 2009
No big deal, because these leagues are nothing more than organized confusion! When you get these players into fall training then we will see what progress they have made to get ready for the REAL deal. Koufus will play this summer for Greece and all thats important is to put on the weight and maintain his conditioning. He will be fine. I hope Maynor is a smart player and can fill the job as D-Wills backup. One last item is getting rid of Boozer for whatever we can get, as long as it is not a long term committment.

I totally agree. The coaches pretend these semi organized brawlgames are important. They aren't and the risk to a player like Koufos is far greater than any benefit he would get. He will benefit a lot more playing for his national team.

Are far as there being any offense in this game there was not. Once in a while you could recognize a play but mostly it broke down and was a pick up game with refs and coaches.

I really do not blame CJ for dodging this mess last year. It was a wise choice.

The simply have to many players on their summer league roster to get any real benefit from these games. It is mostly creating auditions for Euro bound players for Euro Teams scouts. I am not sure how the Jazz benefit.

No wonder some NBA teams did not field a summer team. I guess some teams are smart or lack Euro contacts.

If we get rid of Boozer, how does that make our team better?

i just want to put this out there, milsap wants 10 million a year, meanwhile sheed, j-kidd, marion, and others who are legit players are signing for 5-7. in what world is milsap a sheed or a marion? i like him and all but lets be real he is a starter on a bad team, a back up on a good team, not tall enough to be a major player on a championship team. i say if milsap gets offered more than the mid level exception go after marion.

Kosta Koufos is the real deal. Jazz, you misused him last year. He is the back-up to Okur, the reason to get rid of Boozer, and is the find to work next to Millsap. His weight will make him stronger and faster, and he already has the skills. He needs only one thing: For you, Jazz, to let him play. If we lose him down the line, remember that you blew it!!
FINGER | 1:18 p.m. July 7, 2009
A SEVEN FOOT 275 POUND man cannot PLAY because he hurt his finger?

Thus we enter the brave new world of the BOOZBALL.

Where or where is KARL MALONE?

miles.... | 2:03 p.m. July 7, 2009
missed several games last year because he had the "sniffles" a dislocated finger is completely different,I`ve had one and it`s even hard to breathe, much less play bb
Miles | 2:55 p.m. July 7, 2009
Comma man you had sniffles and it was hard to breathe? Wow now that is going out on a limb. Good post. How's the basement and your Mamma?
MADRYBEG | 3:08 p.m. July 7, 2009
Why risk further injuring the finger in a SUMMER LEAGUE!? The summer league is namely for players to try and make a roster. Koufos not playing allows the 2nd rounder a chance to play. He will be fine come pre and regular season...I hope I don't eat crow for this later.
Say Mr. Miles | 5:12 p.m. July 7, 2009
I thought sure you would comment on the news of 4 or 5 other teams having an interest in C.J. I know your hooked on him like a siamese twin but I also believe that the best future for your man is with another team. He just doesn't cut it in the Sloan system, and a new address would be a blessing for him as well as the Jazz. Let it go, he will not ever make it here with the present coaching staff we have now.
Miles | 11:32 p.m. July 7, 2009
@Say Mr. Miles........Amen to CJ having no chance of succeeding under Jerry's system. Jerry uses to much shot clock and too much two man game for my siamese twin.

the post from last night from 553 is not me, i did not send that, the Deseret news I asked post that because I do not want to be known as doing that but you guys as usual deleted it

Miles (553 post last night imposter) read what i put in a related article about CJ. You say I never defend him. This subject amazes me. With all the issues surrounding Jazz players, Boozers defense and effort, AK, all this stuff, this is one subject people harp on., CJ to me is criticized way too much. Standing outside the 3 point line waiting for the ball to shoot. How do we not know this is SLoan idea of "CJ STAY OUT OF THE WAY"

Someone like this you create plays for him. I think he has enormous potential, like ALmond, others etc--wasted........

Wonder why?

Could be someone named Jer?

Noooo

Koufus is a ton better than I ever thought he would be. And he is still a kiddie. But he is still no match for Big Bird.
Don't mess with the Bird!
