More.

Alan has participated in many visits and support groups for others afflicted with ALS. Alan is personally responsible for raising hundreds of thousands of dollars that have gone directly to help others with ALS. Unfortunately, He has seen many friends die from ALS.

With government ran health care, who would pay to find a cure?

To Anonymous,

This article has nothing to do with government run health care. Obviously you have not had or seen anyone suffer from this horrible disease. My father passed away from it. You need to re-think your comment. Don't turn this article into a political stand. This is about honoring Lou Gehrig and the men and women suffering from a disease where there is no cure.

I agree with Michelle it has nothing to do with government run health care. These people are heros I lost my identical twin sister in 2008 to this terrible disease. It has everything to do with finding a cure or at least some treatment wich there is none right now. So lets leave politics out of it and just help all we can.

I agree with Michelle, this has nothing to do with government, and never will. This is nothing political, it's about great people who are hit with this horrible disease for no reason.

Another great supporter/fund raiser for ALS is the baseball pitcher, Curt Schilling. He even named one of his sons Gehrig.
I just found out one of my friends has ALS. Any info to pass on to him?
