I am so please to hear that the community is still committed to helping out our youth! I was a staff member of BGCs in Weber-Davis and Murray for a total of almost 5 years and I was deeply committed to the mission of the club. I am so proud to see that with the economic downturn we have not given up and we still take pride in helping our youth. After all it is the job of all to "Inspire and empower youth, families, and communities in reaching their full potentional as productive, responsible and caring citizens."

...not a charity.

If the restaurant was truly raising the money, they would donate it themselves. Instead, they have come up with a clever way to get their name in the paper - by asking their patrons to donate.

There's at least one donation jar by every convenience store cash register in Utah.

What does this (nameless) restaurant get the publicity?

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
