this is sad. Obama continues the killing ways of pres. Bush. Why isn't the press doing a daily count of killed servicemen?

From news reports, it appears that President Obama's military efforts in Afghanistan are fundamentally different in approach than former President Bush's Iraqi efforts. From what I've read, Obama is attempting to redirect the focus on U.S. military might towards intervention against the Taliban but also upfront the preservation and development of civilian security, safety, and infrastructure, and social services, something that the Bush Administration was unable to do during the five years of the conflict. By attempting to make the military effort in Afghanistan about the people of Afghanistan as well as anti-terrorism, it may marginalize the popular support of terrorism in the Country which is a crucial element for any terrorism to succeed on a national level. It's possible that the billions spent in Afghanistan may at least not be wasted completely on death and destruction but perhaps on developing and improving the Afghan population who in turn can be productive consumers to the benefit of the United States.
