Obama is a liberal politician trying to push a liberal agenda. Like all liberal politicians, he doesn't care about anyone but his campaign donors.

Define bankrupting the country? The country was already in debt by over 400 billion dollars. The country was already in a recession with no end in apparent sight. Bush had already allowed the stock market to collapse. So what is the definition of Bankrupting the country? Granted, there has been a much larger deficit since Obama went into office, but the country was already bankrupt by any sense that I can see.

I am not a fictional character, I am real, blinking cheek!!!! I ahve had a lump in my breast myself, I went to my GP and she referred to a specialist. In the meantime she sent to get a mammagram, not as bad as it sounds. Then I went to see a cancer specialist nurse who talked me through my options should my lump be malignant. I then saw a breast specialist who told me I had nothing to worry about. This was all free and took 2 weeks from me finding the lump to the all clear, a very long two weeks when you are waiting, but worth the wait. My doctors treated me as an individual and they really cared about me. I have had 3 children under socialist medicine, again I was fantastically looked after and all my babies have been healthy. I love the medcine we get here, because I know the old lady down the street can get it as well as the family where the father has lost his job. I am proud that my taxes go towards this. I pay in, when I need it i get it.

Sally in England:

Please, just STOP. Conservative's belief in their ideas, especially health care, rely completely on imagining the rest of the world being miserable, and you're sticking your nose in here and ruining it for everybody! :)

One of my main “problems” is that I try to use my brain to think with. And doing so causes me to believe that the John Birch Society used their hate campaigns against John Kennedy to influence an individual to murder John Kennedy as a service to the nation.

Having perfected the science of using hate to influence the killing of political opponents, the Conservatives seem to be using their weapon at every chance.

Actually I voted for Obama in order to vote against the Republican McCain. My candidate was not in the race.
RE: Sally in England | 5:39 p.m. July 6, 2009
It wasn't "free",

somebody had to PAY for it.

So how does it feel leeching off others?

Rather than taking personal responsiblity.

change is inevitable | 6:06 p.m. July 6, 2009
Why do you suppose neocons like redshirt are so paranoid of change?
Some childhood trauma?
Our young people registered as Democrats ("liberals" to the far-right) and forced change as our young people will always do.
The rest become stodgy and senile.

And I'm sure that if you or your children were suddenly struck with a terminal illness, you'd quietly lay down and die if the costs spiraled out of your control. Anything's better than leeching off of others, right?

"Personal responsibility", my foot. If you speak for the typical conservative, then your belief system deserves to be tossed into history's dustbin.

@Astro: Yep', that Human Development Index is a text I keep right next to my heart, just in case I might make the mistake of believing my own eyes.

To "To RedShirt | 4:13 p.m." I was using it in the same context as "change is good | 3:07 p.m." You can't really bankrupt a country, just make its currency worthless.

thatI am sure that no one will read this as they have moved on to another subject, but I really have to explain that I paid for all my treatment, through the taxes I pay. I am teacherand I work full time, my husband works in middle managfment for an airport abd he pays his taxes, my son is a teacher and he pays taxes, we all pay a percentage ineach month in the hope that we will never needmbut God forbid we do, we can. In the mean time if someone else needs help they get it. We all pay what we can afford to pay, those earning less pay less, more paay more, but we all get the same treatment, good treatment that we hace paid for over the years. I you can't understnad it it means I am not explaining well...sorry. But just to be clear, I paid for me, my mother paid for me and my grandfather paid for me. From the cradle to the grave.
