Politicians no longer serve the people, they serve their own agenda. Pretty sad that we let this happen. 56.8% voter turnout in 2008, 1.5% better than 2004. Pathetic that a little over half the voting age population turns out for elections.

Bush, Obama...going from Bad to Worse or Worse to Bad. Doesn't matter, they both suck. America needs to unite and fire them all. President on down to the city councilman. Good or bad, send a message. Won't happen because a lot of Americans are divided and won't give an inch on anything. I guess it is the better that the country suffers instead of the party.

The reasons we have corrupt politicians is because most Americans are corrupt, after all we elect them and then we demand entitlements. We tell them we want them to confiscate other people's property and give it to us without any effort on our part to EARN what we recieve. No, I don't blame politicians, I blame Americans who elect politicians who only do what we demand of them. Most American politicians mirror most Americans. We are getting what we deserve! Something for nothing!

I agree with this story.

Look how many ties between the Republican party and the oil companies and pharmacueticals. A lot of corruption.

Change was needed and now is the time. People voted for change!

Lets get rid of payouts and favors to elected officials and just have them get their government pay. It should be illegal since its highly unethical.

How can you tell if a politician is lying to you?
You can see his lips moving.

Barack Obama and the Democrats are spending our nation into oblivion. You're right, nationally there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Wouldn't it be nice to try conservatism? Where have all the conservatives gone?

Bush wasn't. McCain isn't. Obama really isn't.

I would take diabetes over cancer.
I would take deafness over blindness.
I would take poverty over the loss of one of my children.

I guess I don't see the point of ranking things so awful that they are nearly beyond comprehension. What we need is a president so willing to follow the Constitution that they are willing to risk being impeached on trumped up charges and losing their entire political career in the process. From what political party do you expect that kind of option?

President Bush wasn't perfect and he made some mistakes. But, at least he wasn't trying to destroy our free enterprise system. Oh, that people may wake up and realize what a terrible mistake this country has made.
both Parties corrupt | 7:56 a.m. July 6, 2009
Republican - party of Avarice, Greed, and Kickbacks
Democratic - party of Lust for Power (votes)

It didn't take Col, Powell long to realize his mistake.
Agreed. | 8:24 a.m. July 6, 2009
I would prefer Moe Howard over Bush.
Or Foster Brooks, Alfred E. Newman, Buddy Hackett,
Elmer Fudd, or any of the mountain people in "Deliverance". They are smarter, more erudtite, and more culturally savvy than Dubya.

It's high time for term limits for Congress.

Some mistakes? How 'bout he thought he was on a mission from God and his administration almost single-handedly brought down our civil liberties. Or, do the Patriot Act, suspension of Habeas Corpus and due process mean nothing?

re: both Parties corrupt | 7:56 a.m. July 6, 2009

Actually, Democrats think the glass is half full & Republicans think the glass is theirs.

We should all pray for the President no matter what party. I think Obama is trying to do his best, but like all leaders he needs inspiration. Let's at least support him to the extent of praying for him.
Just Ed | 10:23 a.m. July 6, 2009
Moe Howard over Dubya? No way. Dubya provided far more laughs in his career than Moe ever did.
@Cats | 10:42 a.m. July 6, 2009
No Bush was busy passing legislation that led us to where we are now with the economy. It is the "free enterprise" system that you speak of that caused the mass amounts of greed and poor decisions. And now the world is paying for it.
All Knowing | 11:31 a.m. July 6, 2009
If you like Obama (peace be upon him) then you like a ten trillion dollar debt (which will take a billion years to pay off), increased taxes, socialized medicine, wide open borders, and sky high electric and energy prices. I prefer Dubya, McCain, or even Palin.

@Hank McCoy | 9:21 a.m.:

"Some mistakes? ...the Patriot Act..."

Obama still retains the Patriot Act intact.

"...suspension of Habeas Corpus...?"

Are you talking about Abraham Lincoln?

Isn't the headline of this letter redundant?

There is no difference between the last 4 Presidents... they all have Ivy league degrees.

If & when we stop electing bozos w/ the aforementioned education then they better off you, & I, & the US will be.
