Or, we could bring back DDT and get rid of the pests.

We have some slimy neighbors who leave their swimming pool unused and stagnate and their pool is infested with mosquitoes. We dare not go into our yard at dusk, otherwise we look like we have the chickenpox the next day. Our little children hate their bug infested pool. We have also come down with fever and become sick.

Maybe it's time to call the health department on your neighbors or for someone to slip in at night and 'accidentally' drain their pool.

Health dept-- will listen | 5:19 p.m. July 6, 2009
Hey CJ, Your probably the kinda guy who wants to get along with your neighbor, but in this case his swimming(SWAMP)pool is very deadly to others. Your neighbor seems to be the type of person who doesn't much care about the health of others or his nasty mosquitoes who bite. He's a very bad guy, CJ, and there comes a time to get over being Mr nice neighbor guy, and do as 2:34 p.m.suggested to you, and CALL THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, AND DO EVERYONE AROUND YOU A BIG GIGANTIC FAVOR. Please Pick up your cell and call NOW! Cheers to you my friend :)

This is an Editorial? | 9:51 p.m. July 6, 2009
This is what the D-News considers an editorial?

Most people call the editorial page the "opinion" page. In fact, that's the title the D-News gives this page up at the top of the screen.

Is it really the stuff of "opinions" to urge people to use more bug spray in the summer? Gee, how controversial!

Something like this once in a while may be okay, but Deseret News editorial writers, in my "opinion", need to rethink what the purpose of the editorial page is all about. Too much of your editorial content is "feel good" pablum that would fit better in the "Life" section or the obituaries.

Bug sprays make some people very sick and they may develop allergic rashes.

Be a nice guy and clean up your water holes for the safety of others.
