Has anyone told him yet?. Out of Iraq's frying pan, into an economic fire. Johnny comes marching home to no job. Sarah Palin is the last hope for the GOP to return to conservatism and not this wishy-washy corrupt liberal party that has been infested with supporters of John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Guiliani. Huckabee will come out as a closet atheist.

Anonymous | 9:34 p.m I endured the Nixon recession that carried over into Ford's presidency. I Remember WIN buttons. WIN meant "Whip Inflation Now." Conservatives blame Carter. Conservative love shirking personal accountability. Inflation was out of control starting with Nixon. Unemployment was high.

The reason we are in the economic shape with are in is because of Phil Gramm's Commodities Modernization Act and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. The Community Reinvestment Act was passed by a republican majority and was veto proof when it hit Clinton's desk. There was no requirement to lend under the CRA. Under Cater the CRA was merely a reporting requirement for the largest banks.

What makes this picture iconic is it shows that even in the military and under fire soldiers are human. They put duty first.
