Transmission line gets judge's OK

The City of Willard should inform the power company that before a permanent permit authorizing construction of the transmission line is granted, the plans for the project need to be amended to require the lines be buried underground. In 2009, with the availability of high technology super-conductor underground transmission lines, the only reason power companies still cling to the 1930's technology of perching lines on poles in the air is their cheaper cost. The fire danger from aerial power lines has also been proven to be a significant factor in many municipalities now mandating underground lines in their cities. It will surely cost the power company more to bury the lines, but in this modern era, it's the correct way.
