Nice to run a photo that shows this supposed star getting beat by a receiver.

He swatted the ball away. The picture is just one frame.

Chris was heavily recruited by Utah and BYU - he was actually the Ute's first offer and was offered by BYU after his sophomore year. LSU, CAL, Oregon, and others offered as well.

Mickey Andrews, the DB coach for FSU who coached Deion Sanders among others, only saw Chris' film and called him and gave him an offer.

...That's just a preemption to any disgruntled BYU fans who think they know "who can play" at the next level.

I really hope Badger and Teo play well at ND. What a great experience and what great exposure for the LDS Church to have some kids get out of Provo.

Why not Utah? | 10:06 a.m. July 3, 2009
Mr. Badger,

I understand that you don't want to play at BYU and that it isn't the place for you. The thing that I can't get over is how Martinez, Sua Filo, Sofele, yourself, and others keep leaving to go play at places in BCS conferences and with BCS tie-ins in the case of Notre Dame, when the schools, outside USC that these kids are leaving the state for have gone to 2 fewer BCS bowls than the University of Utah. Utah, can go to BCS games with in-state kids and 3 star recruits from Texas and California while the supposed 4 star kids from in-state leave to go play at Cal, UCLA, and other schools that have gone to fewer BCS games than the Utes. I don't get it? Help me understand?

I don't know Chris Badger and have never seen him play, but the last thing he has to do is apologize to anyone as to why he's going to ND. He isn't the only Timpview guy that didn't go to BYU. One of the most recruited lineman in the country went to UCLA. Get over it, if Badger never wins a game at ND or never starts for the Irish he has already won by going to one of the great universities in the country. Getting a scholarship to play football for ND is pretty awesome.

TEO | 11:04 a.m. July 3, 2009
Is going to change his mind and go to BYU, you'll see. And badger go to ND cuz they blow dude. He will waste his talent on the bench, but then again at least he'll play for ND cuz he didn't even get look from BYU or Utah.

Love BYU fans!! | 12:10 p.m. July 3, 2009
what was the score when you played ND? Exactly.

What a bitter group for a program that has accomplished what on the national stage??

Ya BYU is so great they were blown out by TCU, worked by Utah and then showed no heart and crushed by Arizona in thier annual Vegas Bowl. Oh ya Badger should have gone to BYU so he can be paart of the BYU collapse. As far as TEO is concerned you can wish and hope all you want but he would go to USC before he ever goes to BYU, he's not stupid. the fact he chose ND over BYU in the first place tells you what most great recruits think of BYU, even LDS recruits.

He did not swat that ball away, it was caught and that reciever had like 180 yards against Timpview that game.

Seems like he is the smartest player in Utah County. It's got to be hard to live there and not get sucked in by the Y. Good call Chris. Good luck at Notre Dame!

All I know is Timpview went undefeated and won the state championship. No matter how many yards or catches that reciever got they LOST...

I wasn't discussing who won the game, someone made a comment to the photo and Timp-Glory said he swatted it and I was just correcting him. I hope the kid does great at ND.

Allot of athletes that have left Utah to play for other programs in other states. Not just in football but in several different sports, most of them love their out of state experiance and wouldn't change it for the world.

Dude, Utah had a great season, and totally dominated Alabama, but lets not forget if they had not played their toughest games at home, they would not have gone undefeated. Being undefeated takes skill and luck and a little bit of humility -- something the team has, but many fans don't.

What an amazing experience and opportunity Badger has to play at Notre Dame. He gets to be in the heart of the college football legacy. He will run where George Gipp ran. Breathe and play in the element of the "Four Horsemen". Walk where Knute Rockne and Lou Holtz coached. Put on the Gold leaf helmet more famous than any other team's helmet...and I hope as The Irish Become national contenders again he will get to wear the "Green" in an important game.

Way to go man...going to Notre Dame eclipses the opportunity offered any other Utah state recruit.

I am sure the duo of Te'o and badger will bring some good LDS press to that neck of the woods.

WAY TO CHOOSE THE BEST. I hope to come out and watch you in 2010 being a big Irish and UTE fan.
