Utah State Aggies are meanest, leanest on the block

The Aggies might win a couple more football games if they were to join Weber State in the FCS division. It would give more meaning to the rivalry with the Ogden school and help the team that clearly can never compete with Utah and BYU.

Don't Bet On Competing | 7:01 p.m. July 3, 2009
The big 2 think they are so high and mighty. Let me remind you that back in the day namely 60's & 70's we did compete enough tht you two got your butts kicked several times, and that WILL happen again sooner than you almighty's think!

I don't know why the U or the y actually think they are good teams. When are you people gonna figure out that it is rigged for the richest man.

additionally the war of kittens fans are so delusional its funny to watch.

Congrats to the U for going undefeated .. they will never with a National championship though, I mean come on people what did you really expect we live in Utah. The players it takes to win against the best will never come to any Utah school.

We just have to be happy with the limited success we do have. The instate rivalries are great because it gives us something to cheer/argue about.

a dose of reality ... A team which I hate more than anything .. the evil empire of NY Yankees .. makes more money than our whole state in college sports combined.

I enjoy college sports more than the pros & think most people who are normal more than anything enjoy a great level and even matched rivalry.

Additionally ..

most of us want our teams to win and these loose
- NY Yankees
- LA Lakers
- Dal Cowboys
- yBu
- BCS schools
- and Cinderella to one day win the Big Dance

Yawn. Your GED certificate is quite an accomplishment. Glad you had time from your job of making French fries to post something. You aggies keep talking about the 60's and 70's. Living in the past is the best place for you.

I really hope USU is ready to take a next step. Their basketball program is clearly as good as or at least in the same sentence as BYU and Utah. Stew does a great job up there. It takes a bit more to recruit a full football team, but Anderson has the right kind of vision to make it work there. He has signed some real nice players and even has in state transfers making the jump.

The big question to me is will the Aggies be able to retain Gary after he goes 10-2 a few years out in the future and takes a head job either at Utah or at a PAC-10 school?

The mark of a great program is keeping a coach around without being "used" as a stepping stone to get somewhere great -- Example: Florida.

Majerus and Lavell Edwards proved you can have a national powerhouse consistently in the state of Utah. The U of U football team is getting closer, but need to string together a few more years of great football to be included in the conversation.

I love hearing all of the naysayers about USU. We will be very competitive in Football this year, so feel free to overlook us. That will just give us an added edge and opportunity. I am thrilled that Gary Anderson has brought in an entirely new system and confidence level. And yes, we will beat our other instate rivals with more and more consistency. Go Aggies!

Now there was a well thought out post, except I don't cook french fries. Maybe my 12 year old sister can entertain you with an argument about GED's and what not. Except when she gradates from High School in a few years she'll have a diploma not GED.
I will say this .. I am just glad I grew up in America, a country my family has sacrificed for. Even though ... as a war veteran, I can handle some negative comments, I won't loose sleep over it. Thats the American way, freedom of speech .. etc.
On a more positive note, celebrating our Independence Day was fun .. thanks to those of you in our community who served our country.
Thank you to Utah State for a great education and sports experience, as I move on to medical school back east I'll remember you and keep an eye on the programs.
GO Aggies!

It can be done | 11:11 a.m. July 6, 2009
Boise State is top dog in the WAC but USU beat Hawaii pretty soundly last year and almost be Fresno State too if it weren't for an almost impossible last second field goal. They still need to put together a good game against Nevada and San Jose State. But overall I don't think it's as impossible as some people tend to believe. National Championship in Logan I think Not, but a WAC title can be done with a little more effort from the team and better coaching.

Wow, the "aggie" who is defending himself is NOT a war veteran. You have a 12 year old sister who graduates HS in a few years? A mature war veteran wouldn't say the "U and the y" and the "kittens." And that education you speak of....well, you're embarrassing yourself and your school by all your errors in your post. Your post reeks of at least HS age or beginning college.

Any Aggie who thinks the team will have a fantastic season is about as ridiculous as millions of Americans who thought Obama's "change" meant it would be change for the better, not worse like is very evident right now.

mr. Wow .. honestly I could care less whether you think I am a veteran of the US military. If you have family in the military you could validate with, what a 91C MOS is then converted to a 91WM6. I was attached to the 328th CSH out of Ft. Douglas the last 4 years of my career. I am still in my 20's, so what you do and don't believe has no bearing on much of anything. If you had been to Balad and seen the sacrifices our infantry has made it would put you to shame. I was just a medic, i did my time, and got out.
I challenge you to find some veterans who served or were injured over in Iraq or Afghanistan and thank them for their service.
btw .. I was 16 when my sister was born .. lol as if you actually know who I am. Additionally, I will admit my English grammar isn't the greatest.
Upcoming season's ... Football & Basketball .. I predict the Football team will win 4 maybe 5 games and will have something to build on. As for the Basketball team expect another 28 - 30 win season.
GO Aggies!

you know all the non believers from the south can say all they want, really they are just comforting themselves. im not saying that utah state is gonna beat utah or byu this year, im not ruling out miracles either...the point is, regardless of what you are saying, usu is getting better, and it should scare you. just like how we used to get made fun of in basketball, now its put up or shut up. laugh all you want, but within 5 years utah state will beat both utah and byu.
