Has the letter writer even attempted writing to Barack Obama? Or any government official regarding his concerns?

At this point, it won't be long before we read the letters about how Obama is sucking out America's brain power with the help on MSNBC. I know that the DN is required to run at least one anti-Obama letter a day, buy can't they be a little more discerning that this?

Franken! | 4:24 a.m. July 3, 2009
I've heard Al Franken speak - he's an extremely smart, incisive guy. I'm all in favor of him being a US Senator.

I think the US conservative movement got lost in its own PR these last eight years. It's stunning to see how badly they're taking their losses in the last election.

I think Obama is doing a fine job overall, and my confidence in the future of America is much higher now than it was this time last year. I shudder when I imagine how our country would have been led had McCain/Palin won the election.

KJB--
Unfortunately, I think this letter is the most intelligent anti-Obama letter DN received yesterday. You have to wonder what the letters were like that they didn't print. Pretty terrifying, actually.

Dumb Iraq War | 4:43 a.m. July 3, 2009
This war is probably closing in on 1 trillion dollars; perhaps Saddam wasn't worth it. Clinton gave us Bush who gave us Obama. Thing will work out.

"At this point, it won't be long before we read the letters about how Obama is sucking out America's brain power with the help on MSNBC."

Guess you don't watch much of the town meetings that Obama's staff put together (referring to sucking out America's brain power).

Watch in the days ahead, the media is even starting to turn on Obama. Could it be the brain power has finally shifted?????

@ hypocrasy- how long will you continue to blindly defend the Obama administration? Even the media is starting to question the transparency of this administration. The democratic controlled congress has passed legislation recklessly without reading the contents. Is that the leadership you support? Frankly, its irresponsible. Obama promised an open and transparent process. That means openly debating the issues. Its not happening. Even his town hall forum are a travesty. Wake up before its too late.

Anti-Obama quota quality | 6:22 a.m. July 3, 2009
Actually, I think the DN is actually becoming a liberal paper by publishing these silly anti-Obama letters as they mischaracterize the right as ridiculously irrational, ignorant, and out of touch. Perhaps they should invite some legitimate and respected conservative writers to the op-ed pages, such as Rush, Palin, and Karl Rove. Perhaps they could start with Gov. Sanford on the sanctity of marriage post-finding your "soul mate."

Socialized medicine? How soon the Conservatives forget about Prescription coverage and Med-Advantage all signed by George W. Bush.

"Trillion dollar stimulus packages...can't be debated because there is no detailed plan to them.

"The addition of Al Franken to the Senate ensures passage of even more job-killing legislation that cannot be stopped."

Just yesterday a complaint was lodged that the stimulus package had over 800 pages that needed to be read within one day before it was voted on. 800 pages sounds like a detailed plan.

Calling the president's health care plan "socialistic" is like calling the snow at an east coast ski resort equal to the snow in the Utah Mountains - not even close. The president is simply looking for ways to make insurance affordable and available to all who want it by using the insurance companies first, and where that option is not available, a government supported system.

Al Franken's entry into the Senate won't guarantee anything - you've seen how undisciplined Democrats vote, haven't you - but it might guarantee that an issue will make to the floor of the Senate for a vote of the simple majority rather than being stuck in filibuster by a minority group of Senator's. Isn't that a good thing?

The Conservatives did not forget the betrayal of George Bush with Prescripton and Med-Advantage, that is why he left office with a low approval rating. Until Republicans can put up conservative leaders, they will not have conservative support. By now, they should be seeing the light, if they are closet democrats, they better stay in the closet or actually join the democrat party. The Republican party is dead in the water until it offers a conservative perspective.

Too little, too late | 7:47 a.m. July 3, 2009
Politicians are trash. We need a better way to obtain national leaders. Can anyone imagine what it would be like if we were to elect our militay leaders. We need to take the best minds and capabilities accross america and draft them for leadership. Our politicians are only good at getting their jobs, not doing them.

As soon as Obama reneges on his campaign "promise" refusing to raise middle-class taxes, I will leave the democratic party.

Hoorah and Amen to the letter!

I believe more than half the country feels the same way and would take back the last election in a heartbeat--if only there were a good alternative.

To " a democrat".

Time to leave, what do you think the Cap and Tax bill is other than a massive energy tax on the middle class?

What do you think the decision to tax health care benefits is other than a massive tax on the middle class?

You and the other Democrats who closed your eyes and voted this idiot into office are now getting exactly what you deserve, unfortunately the rest of us are getting it too.
