And the reason why the kids were in the field was because the fireworks were illegal. If they were legal, they would have most likely lit them off in the street where the fire risk is a whole lot less. This is what happens when unrealistic laws are created without really understanding the issue.

It is obvious each 4th of July that the people of Utah want their "Wyoming" fireworks. Banning has never worked and the problem seems to be getting worse, not better. It's time our lawmakers woke up and legalize all CPSC fireworks, and provide an environment where those that want fireworks can go and light them off in a safer surroundings. Better education in firework safety would go a long way to getting people to use them more safely and responsibly.
