sale maybe they will give Cummard a minimum contract to save money. He can shoot as well as many players in the NBA making 5 time more than the minimum.

Luke will stick while Lee will not...

Yes the NBA is staked with very slow big men that have no heart.
both good fits | 8:19 a.m. June 30, 2009
Cummard could fit well with an up tempo Pheonix offense, and New Orleans needs a backup center badly.

Cummard is a great fit for Phoenix - Neither of them plays any defense
duh? | 10:07 a.m. June 30, 2009
as a Ute Fan, Nevill's agent should be fired. Yao Ming has a possible career ending injury and he didn't sign. These reports were out before the draft and confirmed the day after. Well, go get your butt kicked by Tyson Chandler at New Orleans. However, playing with CP3 is once in a lifetime.

Good luck Cummard, hometown team...no pressure there!

Hey Yewtie..............DREAM ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck Cummard!

It's up to Luke to go and prove himself in the summer league. It really doesn't matter which team he's playing for (whether New Orleans or Houston, etc). If he does well, other teams will notice and will have the opportunity to bid for his services.

Personally, I think he has a chance. But, it's got to be the right situation. My guess is he'll end up in Europe and will have to try again next year, depending on his performance there.

Both players are way to skiny and weak. Neither is athletic enough to play big minutes in the NBA right now.

Difference is one is 7'2, the other is another undersized 3-4.

Translation = Nevill has a shot, Cummard will not.
Lee Cummard is Great | 11:10 a.m. June 30, 2009
Luke has the size and quickness and will do well in the NBA. Lee is an awesome player with a great shot. Congrats and Best of Luck in the Big League!
Lee Cummard is Great??? | 11:37 a.m. June 30, 2009
He couldn't handle the "pressure" of the Aggie fans....I'm sure the NBA fans would take it easy on him!!! There is a reason he was not drafted. He'll make great money in Europe and that's OK.

Good luck to both MWC player of year recipients. They should both get a fair assessment of their readiness to compete in the NBA. Luke probabaly has more of a chance to make an NBA roster because of his position at the much needed 5 spot. However, the 3 or 4 spot for Cummard may prove to be a bit much for him at this stage in his career. The experience for both players will be a great gauge for them to evaluate their readiness for the NBA at this time.
The Sad Truth | 2:04 p.m. June 30, 2009
is that neither player will make it.

Has anyone heard about Toolson?

Ryan Toolson will be with the Kings' summer league team.
Summer League | 11:57 a.m. July 1, 2009
summer league = no chance you'll make the team but we can really use a few bodies to work out our draft picks against that will make them look good.

Start practicing russian or greek guys.

is history, headed back down under. The dude has not that good as most utes would like to think. 1 (ONE) shared championship in 4 years, that is pathetic!
Europe is Ok | 10:21 a.m. July 6, 2009
I would love to be the 12th man in Athens earning $400k with free housing, food, transportation and only play in 40 games. Sign me up.

The Jazz picked a real dud in their drafted Center Goran, he cant even play well against summer league talent. They would have been way better off getting Luke Nevill from the Utes as he is more NBA ready AND would make the local fans very happy to see play for a few minutes here and there! With his good hands and soft touch not often found in 7'2" big men, I think he has a lot more upside also! (and I am an unbiased BYU fan!)
