You all should check out all the youtube vidoes about how Glenn Beck feels about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His testimony is calm, sincere, honest, heartfelt. An inspiring conversion story. Look that up and then tell me he's bad for the image of the LDS Church.
Lynda El Paso | 10:17 a.m. June 1, 2009
No one, not Beck or you and I, can hurt the credibility of out Church. Christ sat and ate with tax collectors. The first person to see him after his resurrection was a former prostitute. We are all sinners and "fall short of the glory of God." Glen Beck is a man, fallen like the rest of us. He is only a Mormon by choice...his choice. He is the only one accountable to the Lord for his life's choices, as are you. Why there are so many comments regarding this man is evident that there is a lot more work for the Lord to do in each of our lives. Get to work. Listen to Beck at Church and to less of his programing. You would be better off. These are the Latter Days and as Latter Day Saints we have alot of work and learning to accomplish in a very short period of time. As for me, I better get back to work.
Appalled | 10:56 a.m. June 1, 2009
My husband is appalled that Beck is so often linked to the Church.
It makes the Church look bad and is harmful to the efforts of others to find out about our faith --as though Church members in general "approve" of or share like-thinking with this man.
I know that at least two members of the Church DO NOT share his radical, often hateful, divisive, controversial views.

Oh please, whether you like Glenn or not (I personally really like him). I didn't know that the LDS church required all of our attitudes approved before being baptized. Glenn just proves that the LDS church is a worldwide church for all, not a cookie cutter church, and we are all allowed to think for ourselves. Isn't that what agency is all about? We have people in our Sunday School class that are at least as abrasive or moreso than Glenn Beck and they are still embraced!! Mitt Romney and Harry Reid are perfect examples of how you don't have to give up your ability to make your own decisions to be LDS.

I could care less that GB is Mormon or not. I don't agree w/ his political beliefs.

re: GLEN FAN!!!!! | 6:44 a.m. May 30, 2009

>> I am proud to have him as a Brother in the Gospel! <<

Sadly & pathetically, he and Romney are the 2 most prominent and visible members of this states dominant sect.

Why though does he need to go out on the road w/ a "comedy" tour? I've seen his TV show on Faux News and heard his radio show. He's beating a dead horse.

I have no problem with a guy being paid for policaltainment, I do have a problem with the close-minded, ignorant few on these boards that infer that If you're not in line with Beck, you are off the straight and narrow. Glenn Beck is not a smart man.
Anonymous | 3:31 p.m. June 1, 2009
Just like about 9 million Mormons, Beck is a Mormon in Name Only (MINO)!
Sure, Glenn is | 4:15 p.m. June 1, 2009
. . . a Mormon! So is Harry Reid. And most of us fall politically somewhere in the middle between those extremes.

But, at least in these (very intolerant) posts, you'd think there is only room for one or the other in the Church.

I'm glad the bigots of all stripe are wrong. Makes the Church a much more interesting organization.

I listened to him a couple of times - same old rant.
Love It | 8:23 p.m. June 1, 2009
I love it when someone does not espouse the same views as you, he/she is labeled as hateful.

Tolerance Baby!!! I don't think anyone in this country understands it anymore.

I love what he's saying! OK, most of the time. I DO record his show every single day. AND I LOVE IT!

I LOVE Glen Beck. Thank goodness someone with the voice of reason can speak up and be heard.
Too much time for nonsense | 12:28 a.m. June 2, 2009
Who cares if this guy is mormon or not, I'm mormon, but I prefer to do something better than talking about who's mormon and who's not!!!
Too many time for our sisters at home connected to the internet, too many elders "right side" brain wash spending time doing nothing!!!
Get a job or find one instead of losing time for nonsense!!!!

to look whos right, the girls on the view called Beck on the carpet. exposed his lies with proof.
He even admitted it. Just because he is lds does not mean he is a good person.

So you like GB?

But, who is this voice of reason? I know; its Keith Olbermann!!!!!

Glen makes so much sense and thank God he's someone who has clear moral values and is not afraid to share it with the world. All sensible people agree with his views...check out his rating. Whether he's a mormon or not, THE MAN MAKES SENSE to clear thinking people regardless of your religious affiliation. KEEP GOING GLEN - YOU'RE THE BEST AND YES, YOU MAKE A LOT OF SENSE! Thanks for educating many of us who are not very aware... GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Glenn Beck's conversion story and testimony are inspiring and sincere. I love it and can listen to it over and over. But his show is brash and arrogant.

Brother Glenn = O'Reilly minus the personality, education, intelligence, looks, people skills, tact, decorum, civility, etc...

You wanna play oddball? Let's play oddball.

I listen to Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Olbermann, and other CNBC and CNN personalities. I pride myself in being Independent and coming to a conclusion AFTER listening to many different opinions on a topic. I suppose I'm biased toward my own decision making process but I do wish we were more open minded, less polarizing, and more willing to hear all sides rather than bashing the side we do not belong to. I see Beck as an interesting and entertaining part of that information/opinion process.
ONE THING TO SAY | 3:04 p.m. June 2, 2009
about Glen Beck, FEMA prison camps. Google that with his name. The man is a wack job.
ronge in CA | 3:11 p.m. June 2, 2009
From the church point of view: When Glenn Beck supports what the prophets and the scriptures say - God bless him and any out there who heed those words.

From the world point of view: Good for Glenn Beck if he prospers while being reasonably honest. When he is not, he needs to be called on it, just like any other worldly person in or out of any religion.

He IS a better person than most entertainers that I know of, but he does sound hateful on immigration issues. I would like to know how much of his fortune he contributes to the LDS revolving education fund. This might be a real help to stemming illegal immigration for all of us to consider.
sands | 3:55 p.m. June 2, 2009
Beck hates gays, illegal immigrants, poor people huh? Are you listening to some other guy named Beck? The one I listen to when I get a chance is the exact opposite. I wouldn't listen to a bigot or hater myself. I'm not ashamed of him.
Thank goodness for Beck | 4:07 p.m. June 2, 2009
Beck is needed! In a country awash in liberal dribble and a left wing media that is doing more Obama cheer leading than reporting the news, it is refreshing to have a man that penetrates all the liberal nonsense and throws some gas on the fire.

re: ONE THING TO SAY | 3:04 p.m. June 2, 2009

I "used the google' and it appears that Bro Glenn contradicts himself in the 1st and 3rd links.

When I first read what ONE THING posted, I thought of the first X Files movie. So, the 4th link made me chuckle.

I guess Glenny got confused about what the Astrodome and Superdome were designed for & not how they were used a few yrs ago.

I Love Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck keeps it Real.

Glenn Beck is very much a Mormon, his current Wife is also Mormon, he is raising his kids in the Mormon Faith. He has one natural and one adopted child with his current wife.

He also has two young adult daughters with his former wife and he is paying for their College Education. He Loves God, Jesus, his Family and his Radio and TV Shows in that order. He credits his Wife and Joining The Church with having saved his life and his career, which by his own admission was in the Toilet.

He says his show is a Combination of Entertainment and Enlightenment.

He is a Mormon Convert. He like me counts his sobriety in Years, Months, Weeks, Days, Hours, etc. 21 years for me now, less for him but he is way younger. I made 63 yesterday.

I welcome him in my home, 3 or 4 days a week. Some times I catch the TV Show, mostly not.

My Daughter and I are going to go see his stage show simulcast at the Dole Theaters on the 11th.

He is a Convert, his loyalty beyond question.

I Love Glenn Beck.

//Glenn Beck keeps it Real.//

His version of reality anyway.

//He is a Convert, his loyalty beyond question//

Saul. Paul. Its all good.... or semantics.

Anon 808 | 2:41 p.m. June 3, 2009
Glenn Beck is a Mormon Convert. As such he is a work in progress.

He has never been Hateful nor has he ever done anything to hurt the Church and his openly talking about the Church and what the Church has done in his life.

Beck is reality and his Mormonism is Reality and example based.

The difference between Glenn Beck and some Converts and many Life Members, is that Convert like Beck, Me and many, many others has in Reality Read The Books. Scriptures, Doctrine, and History.

With that we add our Mustard Seed of Faith and sometimes move Mountains.

My Examples include My Wife, and 20 years of Watching President Monson and Dalen Oaks. Reading Bruce R, McConkie.

Talking to my Wife's Grandmother, hearing the Story about how a Missionary and an Apache, where out doing Splits on a Horse and Buck Board and Stopped at her House and brought her the Gospel.

How she brought her Husband the Sheriff and their family.

My wife's Grandmother was a Convert and Pure Testimony, To the shock of most family members we got along very well. because we had the Gospel in Common.

Glenn Beck has the Gospel.

Glenn is a good man, He tells it like it is. what does his faith have to do with the truth?
can't libs take the truth

Don't you people get it? Glen is an entertainer, who with talent, and desire has put together an interesting career, not much different than a musician, actor, or heaven forbid, a politician. His is for entertainment, but despite his presentation on many topics, has values and a certain amount of faith. He in fact must have a LOT of faith to have turned his life around as he has, and give credit to God and His Son for Glen Becks success, so don't judge him for his presentation or for his politics as much as for what he is learning and how he is progressing in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And he has managed to turn it all around through acceptance of Jesus Christ. Pretty cool I think. He is absolutely a work in progress, and there may be a few flaws, but I think he'll be all right, plus maybe he'll help a few of us to ponder and think on our own blessings. Thanks for comment time.
Beck | 1:14 p.m. June 6, 2009
Let his voice be heard, he is a refreshing voice..
may his name go down in history as a warning to all who would forget the words written in our world by those who would undermine our wonderful country.

I have listened to Glenn Beck one time. I have been looking for an intelligent commentator.
I found a rambling lip rattler, more sounding like a comedian than a commentator on ideas and political event's. Lots of complaints, no solution, no realistic ideas.
JB, Ohio | 11:28 a.m. June 18, 2009
I am not religous but I know the truth when I hear it
and Glenn Beck speaks it. Whether you like the way he
tells or not it is still the truth. I read from someones comments that Glenn has no solutions? I guess your not listening to the same person I am. If you don't like what is going on stand up be heard get active. Call, write, or go to see your local and State Reps. DO SOMETHING, I think the solution is there in his message, you just may be to close minded or diconnected to get it. Now you can bring on a come back comment to discredit my point of view, but really what will that help? THAT would make you part of the problem and not part of the solution. Go ahead though if it will make you fell better.

So glad to be a Mormon also, keep up the good work Glen, someone has to stand up to the crazy people in Washington who want to sell us down the RIVER.
God Bless You.

Beck is a member of the Church. However, his daily displays of rage, especially when his subject has no substance but personal dislike, would seem to put him outside the Pale Proper of Mormonism.

He is a ranter, and I find him as distasteful as Nancy Grace, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and others stricken with egotistical delusions of their importance.

They appeal to the more emotional, less rational, selfish tide of afraid-ism that sweeps across America like a rash whenever anyone inside or outside the country sneezes.

When all is said and done the political debate in this country fuelled by such as the Hannity-Limbaugh-Nazi-Partie and their fawning sycophants is mere thoughtless unintelligible and irrational invective such as can be heard in the romper rooms of kindergartens.

Beck has all the refinement and aplomb of an untutored fencepost.

"Only let your speech be yea, yea, and may, nay."

Can you hear Him now, Brother Beck?

John Doe in America | 4:26 p.m. June 19, 2009
I am sorry to find out that you, Glen, are really a member of the lds church. I will never forget the first mormon that I ever worked near. the very first thing that she announced was this: "I thought you might be Christian, and so don't ever bring the topic up with me about Christianity". I never intended to discuss religion with her, ever.

Be careful, Beck. Who do you say that Jesus Christ is today, in your new religion? I like you, but I am sure that you are not worshipping the God, who Is, and Was, and Is To Come. Be careful, Beck.
Hmmmmmm | 4:37 p.m. June 19, 2009
I wish he were my next door neighbor, in my ward and one of my close friends. He is one of the true common sensers left in the world! Is he radical, hate filled, extreme,... No, just like you and me and the vast amjority of Americans. He just speaks out and makes the evil head for cover.

Glenn keep up the great work and don't stop. Our country needs you more than ever! You could give Mitt Romney a break though. He really isn't a socialist health care reformer. He took control of what was happening and made sure that it didn't turn socialist! If you look at what he did, it saved a bunch of money, insured a lot of people and didn't cost anyone to pay for someone else more than they already were.
Marion | 10:00 p.m. June 22, 2009
Glen Beck is an entertainer and a good one at that. He has given me a lot of laughs and when he gets too blabby, I hit the "next" button as can anyone else. He's a Mormon? who cares? The LDS church has it's share of "different" members as does any large organization.

Nora Nell | 5:33 a.m. June 25, 2009
I like Glenn Beck. I admire his fearlessness in discussing the problems we face in our government.

I do sometimes wish he would be less dramatic and just present the facts. As a fellow member of the LDS Church, I cringe when he uses cuss words, but they are not REAL bad ones. Having said that I have to admit he is a passionate person, about everything. That is just Glenn. To expect anything else from him would be wrong of me.
Jeff | 10:35 a.m. June 29, 2009
Glenn Beck rocks! It is unfortunate about some of these negative comments on this post. His personality maybe a little abrasive but overall he is a great American who wants American to succeed. May God Bless and keep Glenn on the air as a conservative talk show voice who has deep convictions for what is right!!!

Doesn't anyone realize the Mormon Church's teachings prophesy that someday the Constitution will hang by a thread and the Mormon church (or Elders) will save the county? Early leaders taught this. This has to color his dooms-day view.

This guy wan-ts another terrorist attack while Obama is in office just to further his fascist ideals. He asked for another 9-11 on TV for christsake! Oh yea and he is the perfect kind of idea for mormonism too and looks the part don't you think?
Gary Wheeler | 3:05 p.m. July 13, 2009
I have been listening to Glenn Beck for the few months that he has been on Fox. He has me totally convinced he is really searching for the truth in politics and I feel he is right on. But then today I went to his web site and found out that he was a Mormon. I guess he doesn't care about the truth or hasn't dug deep enought to see the wrong direction that church will lead him. The end chapters of the Bible makes a very clear statement that if anyone adds or takes away from this book, The Bible, all the plaques within will be added to his soul..... I was just about to order his latest book and send it to my dad. My dad is a great Christian and with this new information I choose not to order it. So sorry you didn't put enough thought and research in your chose of the right
religion. John 14:6..
Brushdragon | 3:37 a.m. July 20, 2009
Glen Beck did not choose to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to please any of you here. He believes in God. Sure, he leads a lot of people in a way, but he does not want to 'be a religion' unto himself. His views make us ask important and uncomfortable questions. Also, to motivate oneself to a search for the truth and to motivate a people to a search for the truth are each their own special and separate challenges. And I believe it is Rev 22:18 you are referring to Mr. Wheeler, which does disallow man from adding to the book....although it clearly states 'man' and not 'God'. God may add to His book. And how has He always done that? Glen is fighting in a way that challenges our delicate thinking skills and emotions. If your head or your heart hurts...then you simply care about what he is talking about.

O.K. Joe. We're embarrassed. Do you feel better now? Mormons are the "picked on" religion of the times. Always have been; and it will continue. Too bad the media doesn't have the same standards for all famous people in the news - "Boo. Hiss. We don't like YOU because you are a member of so-and-so church." I think it should be mentioned in all news reports so that we can judge their "worth" to the world. If you belong to a religious group, I'm sure you are liked and loved by all in your church because of your great understanding of one of God's great commandments...."love thy neighbor as thyself" and "love thine enemies and pray for them that may EMBARRASS you" and of course if you have no religion or do not believe in God's words...too bad. How embarrassing!
Lena Svensson | 3:27 p.m. Aug. 20, 2009
Let's face it - Glenn Beck just wants publicity - arrogance, greed and "holier than thou" attitudes motivate him in everything he says and does!
Our Savior Jesus Christ, back in His times, was accused of being a liberal trouble maker, because He owned nothing, He lived among and ministered to the poor and needy, questioned and rebuked the arrogant, rich and greedy and did everything that was against what society thougt was correct - same thing today, in our time - if you want Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness and an equal, just, fair society for all (Public Healthcare included!!), you are called a socialist and/or a liberal - oh, well - then I'm a devout Mormon Liberal Socialist, who belive in and practice the spiritual and social example Christ set up for us AND of which the Book of Mormon preaches about - and for Glenn Beck - Christ will be your judge, but me and my house will have nothing to do with an arrogant, judgemental, hateful and passive aggresive self-proclaimed money maker - shame on you for calling yourself LDS - you represent everything the Gosple and the Church is NOT about!!
Long live PRESIDENT OBAMA!
