I am saddened by some of the comments I see here, Are you that frightened of a person who speaks the truth? Have you all been so blinded by the Liberal Media that you actually feel lied to when you hear the truth. That is the real problem with this country no one can handle the truth, they all want sunshine and lollipops!
Corey | 7:00 a.m. March 30, 2009
Don't you just love it when liberals feel threatened & they respond with empty criticism? Keep it up Glen, they don't know how to deal with logic or facts!!!!

Some of the comments being posted look like talking points passed out at a MoveOn meeting. It's not ironic as all that all the naysayers all sound exactly alike while criticizing others for all sounding alike. Beck is a relatively sober and earnest voice in a sea of others that sound a bit too pointed for their own good and personally, I'm glad to see him having success.

Obama is socializing this country to a degree that will take a great deal of time to unravel.

Currently the federal government controls about half of the US economy, through their takeover of the banks, financial institutions and vastly increased federal spending.

Hey, I'm from Utah, so watch it! Being from Utah isn't the only reason we are all dopes here.
Duh man | 7:01 a.m. March 30, 2009
As usual the "don't bother me with the facts" liberals hate him. Sorry, Beck isn't the liar. I can come up with a whole years worth of garbage "our" pres was telling us he was going to do, and now is thumbing his nose in spectacular fashion. Libs know they got screwed and lied to, so they are gonna take it out on the common sense they wouldn't subscribe to in the first place. Oh well, we learn. Another chance in 4 years to get it right. I just hope little Timmy can figure out the economy so we can last that long.
MJ | 7:01 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen Beck is a voice for many of us who feel Government IS the problem. God bless him.
elle | 7:01 a.m. March 30, 2009
WE DON'T NEED TIME, .. how long do you have to steal from your child's piggy bank before you feel stupid; how long do you have to give a leader with a gun to force you to do the same thing before you get mad, ... glenn is on the outer fringe in expression, dead on in sentiment
james | 7:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
The Marxists will disagree with Beck.
A disaffected American | 7:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck says what MOST people are feeling these days. We are sick and tired of the people who have their hand out to the government. This is America and EVERYONE has the chance to make it here. The people that WORK for a living are getting robbed to pay for the ones that want the nanny state. Get off your butt and work hard instead of taking from me!!
Bagman | 7:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck's been preaching about the economy and the "perfect storm" for over two years. Now even Putin has called it that. Is he right on everything, of course not. But he is the only one who was even pointed in the right direction. So you can listen to him and decide for yourself or go back to sticking your head in the sand. Your choice
surf66 | 7:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
keep at it Glenn
SRW | 7:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
It only took a couple of months, with the help of George Soros' bought and paid for groupies-Pelosi, Frank, Dodd, Reid, Schumer. Energy being doled out, Children being forced into little machines curtesy of Americore, wages decided by BO, civilian police force, firing Amer. businessmen..... none of these worry you? You will be forced to participate and donate to these people. AIG forced employees to donate to Dodd-$2100- and send a copy to him to make sure they donated. Soon BO won't even need the elected Dems as he will "rule" with proclamations and regulations.
Marvin | 7:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
We love you Glenn Beck. It's great to hear someone saying what we've been thinking. The attack on our values as Americans is stunning. The race to be the next failed France is on. We've got to stand up and be a voice for reason!
Ray Ramirez | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Socialism is, as socialism does.

The fundamental difference between Obama and Bush, is as simple as understanding that one believes that Americans hold the answers to fixing all things wrong with America. The other simply believes that the govt can fix anything wrong with America.
As a conservative and thinking American, I have big problems with that last notion!
jbjm | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Love this guy. At last, a person who calls it like he sees it, rather than be politically correct and worry about alienating the "independent" voters, like O'Reilly constantly does. Although I don't agree with everything he says, at least Beck comes across as genuine. Real. Honest. I wish there were more like him on TV news talk shows.
Dianna Collins | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck makes sense! He is speaking for me in that he loves this country and does not want to see it head into socialism. I have worked hard for my money and I do not want the government to take it and distribute it to people that have sat on their sofas on their front porch all their lives. Our President is on the wrong track and Glenn is on the right track. You go Glenn. Let's unite with the 912 Project.
Jay Peg | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
zulu's comment says more about zulu than Beck. zulu represents that coastal, secular, mentality that looks at heartland conservatism with its moral values as somekind of disease, notwithstanding that much of the republic was built by people like that.
jack | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
the world it seems hates the truth, the evil of nancy and harry must never be seen but thank God for glen ,who with shaun and rush delivers the truth each and every day. obama was a mistake, america must wake up
Citizen Z | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
So what has Glen lied about? He bashed Bush and his $550 Billion dollar deficit constantly...he told of the underlying economic collapse 2 years before it happened. Now Obama has a $1.9 TRILLION deficit, nearly 4 times that of Bush. What do you think will happen? We just printed $2 Trillion, what happens to inflation when that occurs? We have a bunch of NON-business people telling GM how to run thier business....how is the market going to respond?

The market did bounce up and gain some ground back....but a dead cat bounces too if you drop it high enough. Glen has been talking about this collapse for a while as well as Obama moving us towards socialist policies.....everything I see as true.

So what did he lie about?
ConfusedReader | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
"...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed."

zulu could just as well be talking about Obama here.
Prof. Don | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen Beck is a voice from the vast flyover country the elite of the northeast and West Coast pretend don't exist. This country DOES NOT want socialism or statism and a two month effort to wreck the USA has made us mad. Watch out, America is coming
sageoldman | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen Beck gives me the impression that he could become unhinged and go on a rampage at any moment. He's unpredictable, and that's why some people enjoy watching him on TV. I prefer Bill O'Reilly because he is more level-headed and only loses his composure when confronted by outrageously bad behavior. Bill is spot-on in his criticisms of government boondoggles and corporate greed. He also, in my opinion, tries to be more even-handed in his criticisms of both the Left and Right. Fox is the only major news outlet that isn't completely in the tank for far-left populism.
TheTruth | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Granted I agree his show can be intense, but if you research the facts he presents they are true. Glenn Beck had people on the show about the economic downturn way before it occurred. You say he is misinformed, but I say he is either well read or an oracle.

Unless you can give a clear example on misinformation don't bother writing smear about groups or people.

Anonymous | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
The article makes reference to Beck's "apocalyptic views of the future". I find that completely inaccurate. What Beck does is read from legislation that just voted on and passed by our House and Senate. So, what Beck is telling us is what IS, not what may be... The angst and fear I am feeling is not for the America of years to come. What I fear is the America of next MONTH. The sheer pace of this sweeping madness is frantic and furious and once these wholesale changes come to pass, they will not easily be remedied by any change of a Presidential Administration. They will be lasting ones that reshape the USA and reconfigure us into the likeness of nations like Belgium or Sweden.
Thank Goodness | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
I have twin boys that are two years old and they owe over $72,224 in national debt. In the next decade, that number is going to almost double. My children by the time they are 12 will be in debt from spend thrift politicians my age and older who have screwed them out of close to $140,000. Well before they can even vote.
But despite this, we as a people continue to give the government more and more power over our lives, despite their dismal stewardship.
At least someone, ANYONE, is speaking up for conservatism in this sad era.
Jim B | 7:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is challanging both political parties and asking people to be Americans and to find out for yourselves the goverment our founding fathers established not what we have now and what our goverment is traveling toward. A goverment we will not recconize if we continue on our present course.
Wes creekmore | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Been waiting for someone to say what you been saying. It's past time to tell it like it is. GO BECK, GO!
Mike Kennedy | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
We need more concerned citizens like Glenn Beck and fewer liberals in this country who are hell bent on turning this great nation into a socialist society.

Liberals, get over it.
The BARD | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck's unpopularility in New York and SFO speaks more loudly than his popularity in Utah.

B. Hussein "Erckle" Obama has brought the US to fiscal ruination in under 90 days while the drive-bys and all the stinky, unwashed libs just keep fiddling their violins to the tune of L'Internationale as the country burns.
Patriot | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Jusging by some of these leftist comments, Beck is having an impact. Go Beck!
Old Navy | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
He is wonderful! Just what we needed in these troubled times. Thank you GB!!
Blumenk | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu, My assumption is that your accusation is more in line with your level of understanding. Republicans are out of office because, with Democrats, they spent money the Country did not have. So the solution is to elect people that spend more money under the "hope and Change" mantra. Good job America. Someone explain how this makes sense
SLC gal | 7:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Yes zulu, Glenn beck is uninformed. That's why he has his own news show, which by the way, if you ACTUALLY WATCHED, you would know, he reads, he researches, he does his homework!!! He is absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!
apgar | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck made the Drudge Report...go Glenn! I luv ya, man. Zulu, did you go to public school? Readers (who devour books of all kinds, especially the kind written back when the country was founded!)are the educated. Have you ever actually read some of the original works of our founding fathers (not some excerpt of them in a textbook)? I think you'd be shocked and outraged, too, at what the Dems AND Repubs have done to our country.
srlpmommy | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
I am neither uniformed nor insane. I voted for Bush the first time and have been screaming about the man every since. I believe in what Glenn is saying, because it is true. The Government has spiraled out of control. Obamas plan is radical and his actions continue to attack the rights of the free people.
Freedom isn't Free | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
For Anonymous - Obama is the one that said he was ready to be President on 'day one'. The Presidency is not a place for on-the-job training! Obama is either in way over his head or he has an agenda to completely change our form of government! His administration is making the greatest power grab in history. The only thing that will save this country will be some fine constitutional lawyers getting involved!
PA1 | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
His popularity in Utah ...and NY and Pa MD La OH Ha Ia ND SD NC SC Fla Al Mass Ma RI VT...et al,,,,,,,,speaks for itself.
dogcaller | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu said, "His popularity in Utah speaks for itself. A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed about economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed."

What does this mean? Let's see, Utah is a state that manages its money responsibly, educates its kids (very well), doesn't ask for handouts, where a strong work ethic is an expectation, and has a generally positive attitude toward life. What's the problem again? I've never been a resident of UT, by the way.
Bob Morton | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
You who are bagging on Beck should try listening to him sometime. You might learn something.
Vet and Taxpayer | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
We need more time to wait for an outcome of the new President's policies and actions? Hardly. The market has plunged over and over again since election day. My taxes are about to take a huge leap. His energy policy is going to raise my gas and electric bill. My health insurance is already costing me more, and not only will it get worse in the near future due to the road he's about to take us down, I'm going to have to wait in line or wait for weeks until a doctor will be allowed to see me. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!! This administration has authorized more spending than EVERY OTHER PRESIDENT COMBINED!! That includes GWB, whom so many have said spent this country into the mess its in. It also includes FDR, LBJ, and every other president who pushed massive spending programs. Quit drinking the Kool-Aid, and hold people accountable - and it doesn't matter which side of the aisle they're on.
Anonymous | 7:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
Don't always agree with Beck but I'm so grateful for his dissenting voice. Without Glenn, Americans wouldn't have a clue what socialism looks like , what it does to the human spirit, and how it destroys successful societies. As someone whose parents lived thru communism, I support Glenn and others like him who are trying to teach an entire generation what our schools and media have failed to teach them. How refreshing to hear opinions and stories that are not part of the same daily media drum beat. Let the public discourse continue!
Mike | 7:06 a.m. March 30, 2009
Thank you, zulu. His 2.2 million viewers are the same that watch O'Reilly and Hannity, forming an echo chamber that sits and stews in its own extremist bile, but certainly does not come close to the viewpoints of moderate America. Look at two of the comments here. Omar thinks Beck is doing God's work while I guess "Freedom loving" has been some kind of unfortunate victim of eminent domain. (Exactly what property and rights has the prez pilfered from you, anyway?) Sick, sad people whose ideology prevents idea exchange, as well as their party from being anything more than the army of "no." Why come up with solutions when political expediency dictates you should be nothing more than a gambler, betting on failure of the other party?
nancy | 7:06 a.m. March 30, 2009
But, Bush didn't take us into WWIII, and the economy didn't crash until Democrats took over the Congress. I am not a Republican, by the way. Republicans including Bush, spent way too much money they didn't have. They also made some bad decisions. This is why Beck is popular, he says, a pox on both Repubs and Dems. Both parties got us into this. All Pres. Obama is doing is more of the same faster.
Inform yourself, instead of just listening to latenight comedians. Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't make them stupid. They may be wrong or you may be. Open your mind to the possibility then go do some actual research for yourself.
BuckarooTwo | 7:06 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck will do quite nicely at FOX. I really enjoy his perspective on the life skills he has acquired and his political acumen. He deserves to be up there in the company of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
39ford | 7:06 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is a breath of fresh air. Fox had become more like CNN during the election year. Every one was walking on egg shells not wanting to "offend" the worn out bunch of free loaders filling up our three brances of government. We are led by lawyers. When will we ever learn, lawyer and leadership should never be on the same page. Ask youself, how many lawyers start a company and provide jobs for the masses? Every time they add someone to their payroll in their law office their fees go up. As for leadership, their record speaks for itself. Keep up the good work Mr. Beck.
MOpatriot | 7:07 a.m. March 30, 2009
Tone of this article is the usual pundit press tripe. Arrogant, elitist and blind. People are truly angry. Beck doesn't pretend anything but
entertainment.
derekcrane | 7:07 a.m. March 30, 2009
Obama's policies, like Robespiere's tyranny during the French Revolution, has moved the country leftward very quickly. Obama has his Jacobin mobs, reincarnated as SEIU (the service workers union), ravaging the hated bourgeoisie. Buses replace wood carts as the vehicle of choice for the mobs who confront their Girondins in Fairfield County.

And like Robespierre, Obama will confront his Thermidorian Reaction. Glen Beck, articulates the horror and frustration the real backbone of this country (Nancy Pelosi erroneously praised illegal aliens as America's backbone) sense about the direction of their country -- people who work and pay the taxes to pay for Obama's expensive policies. Whether they represent the majority in this country remains to be seen. If not, we are all doomed to Soviet mediocrity. And the likes of Glen Beck may soon be seen only in the Gulag. derekcrane
Sharon | 7:07 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hopefully, Glenn has awakened the silent majority. I truly believe this administration has its eyes set on taking America on to Socialism, which would truly be bad for us. God bless you Glenn.
