Beck tells it straight and, unlike most paid for news media commentators, actually has logic rather name calling, rumor-mongering, and propaganda as their mode of communication.
Mark From Georgia | 6:47 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn speaks for the regular guy who is not being heard in Washington. 75% of the people were fiercely againgst AIG bailout and Washington ignored the people. Huge numbers are against Merril Lynch and GE execs getting big bonuses and Washington ignores us. Almost as many are against Detroit bailout and Washington ignores us. We are against Fannnie Mae and Freddie Mac and their bailouts and bonuses and Washington again ignores us. We are against ACORN getting any kind of Washington assistance and constantly they are receiving boat loads of money from Washington. Sooner or later Washington will begin to listen to America! Keep talking Glenn.

Zulu, had you ever listen to or watched Glenn, you'd know the exact opposite is true. Your ignorance is amazing. Listen to or watch Glenn just once and reconsider your comment.

I think Glenn Beck is totally right. We no longer 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. Too many people want to 'do' them first. And not good. I believe NOBODY who tells people to go out and spend. Washington DC politicians have no care for what 'we the people' want. They should all have term limits so they have to live with what they vote.
Thoughtyman | 6:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck speaks truth. Remember, not everyone voted for The One and slavishly agrees with Him. There are a whole lot of us who don't agree with the rapacious grasping the federal government is engaged in. Socialism turned Europe into the mess it is today and it will be our undoing if we continue on this path. Government is rarely the answer and frequently the problem.

Get over yourselves democrats
Anonymous | 6:49 a.m. March 30, 2009
Where was Beck for the disaffected and aggrieved Americans of the Bush era? I don't care if he is LDS, he is a partisan hack more interested in making a buck with his circus TV show than in helping America or protecting the Constitution.

We love Glenn Beck and watch him nightly. Clearly, so do a lot of other people.
cpapa | 6:49 a.m. March 30, 2009
War Glen! we appericiate You!
Peace through stregnth | 6:49 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn is a refreshing voice of reason with a great message. A man with morals and faith in a time when both are under assault. As usual, the left attacks what they do not understand. Ever notice the people that demand and preach "tolerance" are some of the most intolerant people you'll ever meet?!?!

Our country will survive and thrive after this mess thanks to men like Glenn Beck.

Obama may be the best thing to happen to conservatism since Ronald Reagan.
rukiddinme | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Give Obama a chance to what? Bankrupt our country in one year? He has spent in 70 days more than every US president combined. His tax and cap and trade policies will destroy our economy and our former way of life...let freedom ring again, freedom is not free.
MJWashnock | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is popular because people feel exactly like he does...he is the voice of the " silent majority." And if we give this administration TIME, we won't have much left to try and fix. Speed is what they are using to try and change what they want to change. " Do it fast before everybody catches on..." might be their unspoken motto.
dragesr | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
For years we have said "who will stand up for the Principles and freedom America was founded on". Who would have guessed it would be a recovering alcoholic ex disk jocky. Where are the politicians that claim to love this great country. We're sick of the ACLU. We're sick of Greenpeace. We're sick of Political Correctness. We're sick of big brother. We're sick of the public education/indoctrination system. We're sick of animal rights, plant rights, criminal rights, illegal alien rights, and millions of dead babies. The list goes on and on. Yes we cling to our God and our Guns and our families and our communities and churches and we are proud of it.
Gary | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Say what you want but if you truly think this guy is dangerous and a liar you are in a pathetic delusion. I agree with about half of what he says but he is spot on as tho his assessment of where this country and its current leaders are going. I am from the idiotic left leaning state of NJ and catholic and do not consider Utah or Beck nuts. Waht is the real beef you have folks? Maybe the truth hurts a bit???
KENT | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Brian & Bill write into thier article as much about their our world view as they do about Glen's. They are NY Times writers and are writing to please NY Times readers. No more needed to explain why "The Times" is losing money and the paper the Times is printed on is worth more that its stock.
Shotgun Planet | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Why would anyone stoop to the level of name calling a guy who obviously stirs thought in the conservative mind? Could it be they are intellectually inferior and offer no pint of view and like liberals are known to do, silence the opposition rather than debate with logic and ideas? Like freedom of information act? Card check? Oh you liberals are thin skinned.
Anonymous | 6:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
As usual, Glenn Beck is painted as a popuist extemist. And as usual, his religion is used to discredit him. I am not at all relegious, nor am I idealogical but see Beck as one of the very few in the media who see that tremendous harm in the vast expansion of our federal government, at a time when we can least afford it. I love him.
LaTisha | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
But Obama is going to pay fer my house, my gas, food. Why should I be mad? What does it hurt you? I do help me so I think it good.
Patriot | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
The real "Americans" are getting pissed off. They have been listening to the liberal mass media tell their interpretation of the news for many years. Now you are seeing the results...people wanting to hear the truth and wanting to stand up for their country, homes and lifestyle. You liberals could listen to your outlets, Air America or CNN, but they cannot pay for themselves...no one wants to listen to their garbage any longer. You liberals have NPR, but it has to subsidized by our government to survive...where in our constitution does it say we are to support the any media?
Riteaidbob | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is a nut and a liar. The more he talks, the better!!

Liberalism is a mental disorder and you are truely infected. Plus your a complete moron.
Bruce | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
I've been watching Glenn Beck since last year. I'm delighted as to his ascendance as a major news commentator. I think he speaks for a majority of the American people. The majority that the typical media chooses to ignore.
Keyser | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
Yeah, everything he says is so radical. who the hell is he to say get back to the constitution, who cares about that stupid document. He says both sides are out of control? No just the Republicans, the Democrats are for the people and whatever they do is a good thing. If satan is a democrat he should be supported, because he is a democrat and Glenn Beck is crazy.
T Ash | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
I've seen two comments so far that "Beck is an idiot", and another saying his audience is "uninformed". I do know that Beck has an opinion that many, based on ratings, share. I don't see any response addressing the "content" of Beck - they just call him names: Quite un-impressive from a debating point of view.
yoopervan73 | 6:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
I look forward to watching Glenn Beck. Obama is striving to tell everyone it is everyone else is a fault But the US government is at fault. The Federal government is the problem, Politicians that are greedy, don't do their job and are a bunch of idiots. Stimulus bill was rushed through without reading it. Than come the AIG bonuses, the bill had the provision in it, but the rush to do it caused for no one to see it. Whose fault is this mess? It is the Politicians. Obama is at fault, Pelosi, Reid, Frank and so on
HonestAbe | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
The government is now in charge of hiring and firing in American Industry,,Still don't think we're in trouble? This is just the beginning of the end of Freedom!
Pragmatist | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
So the WOT is no longer that, but we are putting more troops in the 'Stans. We need a Civilian Force just as large as the DOD external forces and answering to the Executive branch; apparently FBI and DOJ are not enough. We have a single apppointed individual, with zero oversight spending Trillions in debt; a portion of which they refuse to disclose. Now the same individual states that they need blanket power to take over ANY corporation which they FEEL needs oversight. So contracts and commercial law no longer matter?

And when GB voices opposition to this he is a crackpot tent revival preacher? Sounds like the Constitution and Bill of Rights are no longer important when they become obstacles to a "trancedant administration".
AMA | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
To Anonymous: if you listen to Beck as opposed to just criticize you will know that Beck has been just as critical of Bush as Obama. It is no longer about party. The governing class has stopped representing the governed. Take the time to list to him. He is more in line with reality than anyone else out there - left or right. I am in NY State and the NY state government is set to pass a horrible budget that just keeps taxing and spending with no thought of fiscal reform. At all levels of government, local, state and Federal they are out of control.
Jetman | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck accurately reflects the concern of millions of Americans at the loss of freedom and the perversion of the Constitution. The rush to "change America" is reducing this once great nation. Our ability to be a beacon of liberty for the world is diminished with each passing day. I am profoundly saddened.
Terry | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
Never watched Glen Beck. The more I hear about him and read the negative comments from liberal/socialists/democrats makes me think about watching him. And Zulu, if you are one of the fools who elected Obama, I would be careful about calling someone "uninformed".
diana | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
I love Beck. He is intelligent and informed. He is also humble and speaks the truth. It takes an idiot to call him an idiot. You, who call him a liar are shallow people, liberals, who can't stand to hear the facts. As usual, you have nothing intelligent to say, so you name call. Wake up America, learn from Glenn Beck.
SHD | 6:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
"nut and a liar"..I'm sure you can cite some specifics or is this just another liberal drive by attacking the messenger whose message you don't like? I wonder what its like to go through life with your hands over your ears screaming at the top of your lungs...
KT | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
If you ask me, NUT better describes you bloggers who are reading and blogging articles at midnight or later. Better take a look in the mirror.

Obama is ruining this country. We are on a fast track to ruin, and those who voted for him have doomed us all.
uninformed Glenn Beck follower | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hey Zulu,
You are absolutely correct. Glenn is so uneducated about the economy, history, and government that he predicted this bad economy 2+ years ago.

All of you out there that think that conservatives are just blaming Obama for everything need to actually LISTEN to what we are saying. We are blaming George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and all of those other politicians out there for screwing up this country. We understand the sacrifices that it took to create this country and the sacrifices that it takes to keep this country. READ THE CONSTITUTION AND STUDY YOUR HISTORY!!!
joe | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
He sure beats that Lesbo over there on MSNBC, ratings say it all ... By reading some of these comments, you LIbs must be fans of the show since you have comments about GB.
Chris | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck's popularity is directly linked to a growing number of Americans, some previous Obama supporters, even, who are appalled at the horrible direction this new administration is taking. Americans prize their freedoms and individuality, and the Obama administration seeks to socialize and redistribute our Constitutional rights. Beck says it as it is and we love it.
Anonymous | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is right on the money. He places the blame on all those politicians who are trying to take this country down whether dem or rep. Who are these politicians, the ones who are spending America in the ground and those who are shredding the Constitution of the United States.
Jim K | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen is right on. I hope more Americans will tune him in. We need more people like Glen since we have a certified Marxist in the White House.
southerner | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
I have watched his shows, as some of you commenters obviously havent. He is firing up folks again, jsut as we were on 9/12, rallying us to stop wallowing is self pity. We can either be victims or we can be the old fashioned, stand up and fight Americans that got us to the helm of greatest country in the world!!! Go get 'em Glenn!
mad mom | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
after paying $65,000 in Federal Income Tax alone.. and no, we are not rich, and we have three kids to send to college... I am feeling more and more like Glen Beck.
hrl71 | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Great show!! do the researce, keep it factual,We all love the truth. So many are afraid to say the truth,so they follow the liberal lies.Obamma fired gm ceo and has told chrysler that they must buddy up with fiat.Where is he getting all this knowledge to operate businesses? He hasn't run anything except his mouth, ever. What if fiat can't do his deal? Why has the press only mentioned the white house administration, instead of obamma's name? Power grab with taxpayers money must stop!!
Upstate | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
ExMo. Rather than throwing accusations, please give an example of his lies and correct the lie.
cbouy | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is a refreshing additioin to the propped up stories of the mainstream. Go get em.
Patriot | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn, when they start calling you a nut and otherwise disparage your character, you know you are striking a raw nerve. Keep it up. Did you notice they never contradict your arguments? Instead they attack your character. The Declaration of Independence, Federalist Paper 51 and the U.S. Constitution described and were concerned with the insatiable appetites of government and erected firewalls to limit the power of the federal government. Those firewalls have been breached and because you dare to point out the obvious and speak the truth, the statists seek to destroy you. Keep up the good work, keep talking, keep the information flowing.
AynRand | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck whether you believe he is genuine or not reflects what a lot of us are feeling. He makes Republicans and Democrats feel threatened and that is a good thing as both parties are corrupt, bloated thieves and liars.
captaincentre | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
""I'm a rodeo clown," he said repeatedly,......"

That's it, his job is to "act" like he's angry, angering the left wing of the evil govt.
The right wing gets temporarily pacified while the looting goes on unabated.
Remember, Beck said not too long ago that Ron Paul supporters should be jailed. I think I remember him also comparing the founding fathers to terrorists.

Beck is fake, and he should be granted the same attention one gives to "West Wing"......as another work of fiction.
WFlesher | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hey ExMoDon... What is he lying about? Or do you typically call people names without fact? Zulu, what has he been soooo uninformed about or is it when Obama speaks, it must be gospel according to his holiness "O"! Anonymous..... Bush was worst than THIS!!! You better pull your head out and catch up with Current Events... More troops deployed, a civilian military force in country, stupidly high taxes are on the way and your freedom on many levels is currently under assult... WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! Glen is an entertainer and his analysis is not always in agreement, but he is putting good info out and people are rallying around his call for action.... as a consertitive I speak for myself, Glen does say what needs to be said. This country has wandered from it heritage and you can see it crumbling everywhere.... God Bless America and I PRAY for a healing in this country to restore its ethical values. A thats from the Whitehouse to your house. Amen!
Hedley Lamar | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
We love Glenn Beck at our house because he speaks FOR US. From our perspective, it appears that those of you that DON'T AGREE with his POINT OF VIEW HATE him and the rest of us that share his point of view. On the other hand, conservatives DON'T HATE people with DIFFERENT POINTS of VIEW. We may not like you but we don't hate you. Many of the uber-liberal commentators are so hate-filled that they are disgusting, however, and we can only tolerate to them in small doses.
Anonymous | 6:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu...talk about uninformed. Everything Glen talks about is verifiable and discussed with facts. Interesting how our current administration is doing the same as the last. Hyping people up on things without any proof or facts to verify. The sheeple continue to follow and apparently you are one. Too bad you have to look at it as Utah is the problem becuase that just shows your discrimination based on the fact that Utah is a well known place for the Morman religion. If you have it figured out then please enlighten us. As far as a sad state of affairs. Lets see Obama was a politician for what state? Look at their state of affairs. No vote of confidence from me.
