The problem is, too many people get their information and form their opinions from entertainers. Radio, T.V., movies, all convey biased messages. Trying to separate substance from crap in these areas can be daunting. But, with the wealth of information at our fingertips there is no excuse for being totally ignorant on the important issues of our day.

The sure sign that Glenn is succeeding in his efforts are the insults and dismissals of those who fear his truth. Glenn in a populist and he seeks the kind of America that once was. At the end of the day people listen to him and relate to what he says because he is like one of us. Many of us followed him from the "other" network which is now failing and are glad to have his words of hope.

Glenn Beck knows history only too well. In 1932 FDR embarked on economic polices similar to Obama's. FDR locked us into an economic depression for the next 9 years. Unemployment never went below 10% and frequently hovered in the high teens. That is a historical fact. Get ready for four very lean years ahead. Hopefully the American voter will wake up and Obama will only be a one term persident. God Bless Glenn Beck

glenn speaks for middle class america. he is funny, but very truthful.dek, ind.
Mike | 6:30 a.m. March 30, 2009
I like Glenn Beck and this success could not happen to a nicer guy. I love the passion! Glenn like most conservatives and libertarians think with their brain unlike liberals who only "feel". Which is why Air America and liberal newspapers everywhere failed or are failing. As far as giving Obama more time, why? Look how the left treated Bush look how they treated his family when his college age daughter was caught for underage drinking. lets see how they go after Bidens daughter for snorting coke.
Congratulations Glenn Beck keep up the good work!

I've been listening to Beck for over 3 years. I don't know anyone who works harder to be informed about economy, history, governmen and science. This is what is SO great about our country, we all have choices. You control the dial, turn him off if you don't like him. Beck loves our country. He gives those of us with like mind a voice. He encourages us to be better informed Americans.
Sartana | 6:31 a.m. March 30, 2009
Anonymous, did it bother you that the left criticized Bush from day one of his Presidency? From false accusations he "stole" the Presidency to the "Bush lied" lie, the assault from the left on Bush was relentless. Now it's our turn partner. Buckle up for a long ride.
Mr Roberts | 6:31 a.m. March 30, 2009
He might be something of a nut but he brings up some very good points. As far as his audience being uninformed, the number's just don't show it. He's number 3 on radio. A rating much larger that any of the so called informed. If you don't like him, you don't have to listen.

To people who have studied history, we do not need to wait for an outcome. We know what policies like the current administration is pushing leads to. Better to stop it before it happens.
Einstein | 6:31 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck speaks what many of us Americans feel. We believe in honesty, integrity, responsibility and fairness. Those who try to tear Glenn down either have not watched his show or do not harbor those values. The lies of both parties are shedding light and the truth will be known. In this point in time you must sift through all the information and find out what is the truth and what is right. Our country must stand with our constitution or America will no longer exist. Period. Glenn simply speaks the truth about what is happening and he always tells you to find out the facts yourself. How different our time would be if politions did the same.
Battle | 6:31 a.m. March 30, 2009
The more you left wing wimps cry into your snot rags, the more you try to destroy this country.

This Osama-Obama nutjob is trying to destroy our way of life and yet you willingly open the doors for this idiot?

No, not me! I'll fight this jerk all the way.
Dan | 6:31 a.m. March 30, 2009
Of course he is being watched. I want someone to vent my feelings for me. He is great, pointing out the outrageous actions of this incompetent administration. Who tells someone who is terribly in debt to borrow more? Who tells someone who doesn't work that he doesn't need to? Who tells someone who destroyed his company that he can keep doing what he is doing? Only fools and this administration. Beck points that out loudly. Does that make you mad? Then keep on listening to the garbage coming from Washington and all those news stations until you are broke, jobless and needing help from the UN or China. If Beck was on at 8PM, he would double everyone else including O'Reily. Go Beck!!!
Joe Z | 6:31 a.m. March 30, 2009
The liberals can't stand the truth. Keep up the good work Glen.
atampafan | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
Comments like the one zulu makes are the reason people love Glenn Beck. The Libs not only attack the messenger, they also attack the audience. Watch his show at least once zulu before you make comments like the following - Someone who is uninformed about economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed.
Dawn | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck isn't crazy, he's popular because he is saying what a lot of us feel. this is no longer about Republican or Democrat. It's not about left or right, it's not about Obama. It is about the government overstepping it's bounds. Think about this: They are taking money from the tax payer, to give it to the banks, so the banks can loan it to the tax payer. They are deciding which private companies survive and which don't. They are spending money at a rate which is unprecedented in history and unsustainable and congress is not listening to us, the tax payer. This is why Beck is so popular
Charlie | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn does a fine job and I am sure will not be invited to the White House Christmas Party. Keep up the good work and your independance.
TexasDave | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
"His popularity in Utah speaks for itself. A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed."

Obviously someone who's listened to Beck's show, what, TWICE? Go get 'em, Glenn!! It's working. They can't effectively attack the message, so they go after the messenger! Keep it up, brother!!!
SPINELESSDAVE | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn beck completes Fox News I'm glad he left the no news station he was at and now resides with fox. Go Glenn

Bultaco | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
Thank God for Glenn Beck and May God have mercy on us all!!!!

While, I may not agree with Beck on many things. He and Fox News have the conviction and knowledge to invite contrary views. As opposed to "Main Stream" news which seems to have a very specific view of what news is and what news isn't. So much so that years ago, I stopped watching them. Times of India does a much better job of reporting on America business trends and American politics. The BBC lost it a few years back when their reporters and commentators had to answer to a select few special interest groups. I guess that's why for many, the fact that Beck and Fox News does show both or multiple sides of an issue causes problems. Life is so much easier when you are simply told what to think; how to talk; how to dress; and how to live your life. I love mental diversity and the way it challenges my ideas. Sad that most people now in "Mainstream" can only parrot not form ideas. Right or wrong depends on the what the herd is saying. Makes your life easier, I quess.
Marketing Genius | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
The rodeo clown is laughing all the way to the bank with your money, those tears are tears of joy for the mounds of your money he gets to roll in every night. He is a great marketer and entertainer and if you think he gives to hoots about you beyond wedging more money out of your pockets youre a fools and if you think the DN has any interest in running these stories other then selling more tickets to the July 4th festivities (which it always works its way into the story) you are an idiot.
Mike | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
I think he is spot on! The man will blame ALL that is responsible for the mess were in. We need more of this from our newspeople. There is a govt. that has run amock!Sadly, its in our country,Repubs and Dems beaware, next Nov.2010,there will be a change in the guard in Washington. With Glenns' help we will start to take back our country and our true values. thank You Glenn Keep the fire burning!!!!
LetFreedomRing | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
I've been watching his TV show for a few weeks now and love it. It's nice to see someone who is just as angry about government as the rest of us (and he can back the arguments up). President Bush made some pretty bad decisions domestically (border and bail-out), but President Obama keeps making one bad decision after another, and he hasn't been in office 100 days yet. Dispite what Obama says; Government is not the answer.
Hugh Akston | 6:32 a.m. March 30, 2009
Frum says "It's a show for people who feel they belong to an embattled minority that is disenfranchised and cut off".

Frum either doesn't bother to listen to Glenn Beck or he intentionally mischaracterizes one of Beck's most common themes. Which is that freedom loving conservatives are NOT a minority embattled and surrounded by a powerful opposition with an alien philosophy. But rather it is we, at least for now, who are in the majority. We surround them!

Frum, whom no one I know considers a movement conservative, is partially right. Many libertarians and conservatives do feel ignored, disparaged, and under represented in government (including many in the Republican party) and especially in the old elite media. And Frum pretty much substantiates that oppinion

bastley | 6:33 a.m. March 30, 2009
ExMoDon, your attack on GB is referred to as "projection". GB is what he says he is concerned about truth and searching for it. Does he find it? About as much as any of us that search for it, and he would admit it first. But unlike ExMoDon, and Zulu he knows he has to search it out. It wasn't conferred on him like they believe was done in their indoctrination, at Government schools. But that means they no longer have to reason or think things through, and this gives them more time to party and ad homonym. Try to reason out a legitimate complaint with the substance of any argument, I forgot you are morally superior and needn't bother to refute the argument, just attack the messenger. You have learned well young Obomanaugt.

I think Glenn's right on the money with where this country is headed. As he often says, read the 5000 Year Leap and you will understand how this country was formed and what is needed to keep it on track per the foundations used by our founding fathers. Without those basic understandings or foundations the Constitution will not work. DC is doing a great job at destroying those foundations and by doing so the Constitution. We are the country, not the government. "They work FOR US"! Wake up people!
Ann MacLeod | 6:33 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn validates our feelings in this horrific time-when we see our great country attacked by these ultra left people- who hate America It is wonderful to hear a voice -that stands up for the good, hard working-good -living people -who support this great country! and to all the haters-wake up- they are selling out the country!!

Hey Anonymous- Bush did Not lead us into world war 3, But Obama may just lead us into the POOR HOUSE...and while he is in such a generous mood with other peoples money, ask him or a dictionary...

Glenn Beck speaks for the trampled upon, hard working middle class, who love their country, see it marching toward socialism, and would like to stop it if it is not too late.
RON WHOLAVER | 6:33 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck, I believe, is voicing the opinions and fears of what I think is the "SILENT MAJORITY". If we allow the Obama constitutional wrecking machine to continue without check, then this country as we know it will cease to exist as the free nation our founders intended it to be.
It's easy to bury your head in the sand and watch your freedom go down the drain, step by step. Beck is sounding the alarm. The question is....Are you hearing it. Wake up America!!! Tune in and wise up!!

zulu...are you referring to obama?
Doorstop | 6:34 a.m. March 30, 2009
I smell fear... The Libs don't want you to know the truth. Every one of the administration has a red star on the backside of their Flag lapel pin.
yellowsox10 | 6:34 a.m. March 30, 2009
There is no one in the media right now more informed and more in tune to what is really going on than Glenn Beck. That is why so many people are watching and listening - they aren't getting this news anywhere else in the media! Way to go Glenn, you deserve the kudos you are getting!
Aware | 6:34 a.m. March 30, 2009
Notice the critical remarks against Beck. These match most liberal critiques. Non-specific, ad hominem attacks. You'd think with all the money that Soros is paying these "Commenters" and "Bloggers," he'd at least be able to get some specific charges.

Also, look at the comments from "zulu." Only a nutjob on the left could place a veiled attack on Beck's Mormonism - while ignoring Harry Reid's. What was that statistic from the primaries? Something like 80% of the country knew that Romney was a Mormon, but only 15% knew that Harry Reid was! The left is mimicking nearly every tactic of the 1930's Nazi Party. Great job, Demo-nazis!

zulu said:"His popularity in Utah speaks for itself. A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed."

Typically liberal crap - "Iffn u dont thinc lik me, uu es a unedchumacated ful an u dont no nutin."

Zulu, you are a card.
Quaz007 | 6:34 a.m. March 30, 2009
His he over the top? Yes. His he prone to emotional outbursts? Yes. Is he saying what most every average American is feeling right now? YES!! By the way, polls show that Fox News watchers are the most informed. Keep watching the anti-american MSNBC. I'll stick with Beck and Fox.
EasTexan | 6:34 a.m. March 30, 2009
I listen to Glen occasionally and find his emotionality a bit over the top. That being said, he does seem to speak for an increasingly frustrated population who feel powerless in the face of an all encompassing socialist-bent government. The common people are well equipped with common sense and they know (and don't like what they see) where the country is headed.
Publius | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu- Your religious bigotry and intolerance of anyone with a viewpoint other than your own is what really "speaks for itself." Typical for liberals in the Obama era.
Bronx | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
Ha-ha, Utah. Do you guys even have TV? Mormons...what a joke.
askforcor | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck speaks for people who love individual freedom and believe in the ethical fabric that arose into a land called America, and are watching both slip out to sea on rip tide.
Jphn | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
At least *somebody's* concerned about the Constitution. God knows, Democrats and Republican politicians certainly aren't.

And the federal government could use a good arsekicking just to hammer it back into its box. Obama's in office two months and already demanding expanded powers to seize private corporations.
cora | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
Thank God for Glenn,He is very low key and would never incite any violence. He is a very wise man. He tells the truth. He isn't above telling of his own failings. GOD BLESS HIM
Michael | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hey, anonymous, how much time did you libs give bush before you started criticizing him? Obama is leading America to an unconstitutional socialist era, and the men and women out there speaking against him are just excercising their free speech and their constitutional obligation to defend America. Obama lied when he took an oath to defend the constitution, because he is shredding it with every new spending bill he signs.
TerryWilliams | 6:35 a.m. March 30, 2009
"It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings.
Where there's service, there is someone being served.
The man who speaks to you of sacrifice [and service] is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master."

Hey, Zulu, I must have missed a meeting... Remind me again, what's wrong with Utah?

Good message, but we can't watch much because his gutter language is distracting, especially with the kids around.
Brian | 6:36 a.m. March 30, 2009
Paid for faux news. I can not decide if he is just super wacko or needs to be committed. Most of the stuff he is saying is absurd or hysteria. Did you guys see him cry "because i love this country", most absurd and faky. The only people Beck can rally - is mentally ill republicans. He is not hip, he is not new or fresh or whatever other stories claims. It did not worked for him on CNN, it is not going to work on Fox
