Hey anonymous:
You didn' hear him say it? It's the last comment in the article we are commenting on:

He added later: "I say on the air all time, 'If you take what I say as gospel, you're an idiot.' "

Just wait til the Bush tax cuts expire and the new taxes kick in...everyone will be singing a different tune. Just wait.. Strap those burdens upon our backs. It will be interesting to see how Obabma's policies play out. I agree with the person who said all these bailouts are horrible...

This guy is just a freak show. That is all. A freak show. Those who take him seriously are freaks as well.

Beck identifies himself as a Libertarian not a Republican or Democrat. This has a lot to say about why he broadcasted for a "liberal" network and is currently broadcasting for a "conservative" network. One of the reasons he left CNN was because they wouldnt let him continue coverage in a story about two boarder patrol agents who shot a drug dealer in the back side while fleeing. They were put in prison because they were defending our boarder. The drug dealer was later caught bringing another shipment of drugs over the boarder (plead guilty). If you watch the show you will see he grills the republican guests also. He does have a very strong belief in the Constitution and a great respect for the people who died fighting for our rights. Not just the revolution of the 1700's but every soldier that fights for Freedom.

Glenn Beck as Rush Limbaugh continue to grow in stature, thanks to the Socialist in Chief and the most incompetent democrats ever to held office in Congress (Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, et, all). The bigger they get, the larger a target for the lefties. Thank God we still have the freedom to express ourselves through these and other conservative commentators, who put first their Country, before their own personal ambition, without compromising their beliefs, honesty and integrity! Most of their critics are uninformed and only repeat what other clowns on the left are saying. They know nothing about the history of this Country and the principals that made it so great!

All of you Demo whacko's need to look in your mirror and really see who you are. Youe tthe party of hate and disruption i.e Bill Mahre and others. You live in a world of lies. Get a life and join humanity, before its to late. There is no such thing as a "free lunch". It will always cost you something, maybe your freedom down the road.
BECK FOR PRESIDENT | 12:26 p.m. March 31, 2009
We Need more people like Glenn Beck in this world. I love the guy! He calls it like he sees it. You liberals just don't realize that socialism doesn't work because eventually you run out of other people's money to spend.

Am I better off today, than yesterday? Absolutely not.. People like to blame Bush for our problems, that is true he started it, but Obama has added lighter fluid to it.. He is the accelerant.. I do not want government involved in businesses, in health care, and much less raising taxes.. I am tired of giving them all of my money to bail out banks so that they can lend it to me again and pay intrest on it. We have good Health Care, no one is denied health care in our country, its the insurance companys that are the problem. I am better with budgeting my money than the government. I am not bankrupt like they are. This country has strayed from what it was meant to be, what people died for it to be. Why is it that everyone now thinks that the government is responsible for their success? We need to have our own goals and the will to be successful and know that it is possible here. You have to work HARD to make, you can not live of the governments dime, which is actually MY dime. I will decide who I want to help.

Glenn Beck has true insight into politics. He understands that big government is bad for small business and bad for the economy.

"That's good, dramatic television," said Phil Griffin, the president of a Fox competitor, MSNBC. "That's who Glenn Beck is."

Griffin is an idiot! This isn't "Must See NBC" television. What is going on in our country isn't some fictitious Soap Opera or bad Prime Time serial. LIBERTY isn't the slow erosion of our rights and pillaging of our hard earned income!

This is NOT a time where at the end of it all I want to say, "See I told ya so!"
Carolyn | 1:16 p.m. March 31, 2009
I've been listening to this guy for years. Flash...you Liberal Marxist...WE HAVE HAD IT. SOLUTION....ALL OF CONGRESS HAS TO GO THAT IS TAINTED WITH ANY MISUSE OF ANYTHING. IT'S OUR MONEY..NOT THEIRS. OBAMA...THE MAN IS A PUPPET FOR THE PUPPETEER...FOLLOW THE MONEY AND YOU WILL FIND THE PUPPETEER.

I think that Beck is right on target. If we are going to get our country back...we better start thinking AND DOING something NOW. We have a Constitution...it is our rule of law and, I, for one want it followed.

I read a previous post...Pelosi...pleeze. Dodd...Have money will take, Frank...the man had a prostitution ring run out of his house. Biden..he can't even tell if his host is able to stand up. Reid thinks that visitors to the Capitol "stink". And then here is the "Great One" who has truly earned the right to give himself a mirror for Valentine's Day. What background...A community organizer (ACORN) and a guess lecturer. Now he is running General Motors, AIG, The Banks..and any other company that he deems needy of his expertise.

Glenn Beck is the only media type that I have believed in years. He speaks the truth with amazing clarity and earnestness. If he be a rodeo clown, he is one of the best. Yes, he gives voice. He is a Clarion Call to the leftists and a rallying point for people like me, who without FOX NEWS and GLENN BECK would be completely despondent--eviscerated---by Barack Obama's campaign and policies. He gives many hope. REAL hope. That things can get better, that those on the right have been correct all along, that the traditional is not worthless, and that we all were created to protect and enjoy our liberty. And (I have to argue with Mr.Shrum) we far out number and do indeed surround our current government. He advocates for those who listen to him to chose to use our freedom but to do it in acceptable ways.
He is fascinating and mesmerizing. My family does not miss his broadcasts. And in nearly 8 years of higher education (I am a dissertation away from a doctoral degree), I have never met a better teacher. Watch this man! He is worth watching!

Beck is thoughtful and enthusiastic; I've not caught him in a lie YET, but I can't say the say for our other elected officials. I'm glad someone cares enough to put himself in the line of fire and attempt to bring our attention to the things that really matter before it's too late. I believe the President deserves time to make corrections. However, at the rate Obama's going with his radical spending policies and flat-out lies, I think there might very well be nothing left while we all stand there with our mouths hanging open asking "Why didn't we listen to the French and Germans when we had the chance?"

Beck's lie is blatant! He claims to be uniting Americans without regard for Republican or Democrat affiliation, or conservative/liberal labels! But then his 912 website is dedicated to nothing but attacks on Democrats and liberals!

That is a LIE!

Wake up people! Beck is an opportunistic entertainer and nothing more! He fuels hate and division because he makes money off of it! He plays emotional theater games to give the illusion he is sincere, but it is all AN ACT!

Beck's blubbering makes him LAUGHABLE, and his ignorant LAST DAYS garbage didn't work in the 1940's when Jehovah Witnesses tried to peddle it.
Let me guess, you Beck fans have silly RAPTURE recordings on your phones, and 4 rapture books on your coffee tables with an inch of dust on them.

In my 79 years I have never been more disappointed in our leadership. This morning I awake and find the President has forced the CEO of GM to step down. I voted for a President, not a dictator.

================================================

you can't be serious. oh wait-- you are. no one forced GM's CEO to stem down. it was suggested. and why shouldn't he? if you have an adjustable wrench in your toolbox that no longer adjusts properly, what do you do? you toss it out and get a new one, right? same thing with CEOs of failing corporations.

as with the case with AIG, there was an agreement that the CEO step down if AIG were to receive bailout money. if they didn't want the bailout money, they could have said no way and the CEO could have stayed in place while they failed. why do you people on the right insist that these agreements are somehow socialist or even communist? and agreement is an agreement. a deal is a deal. that's why you people aren't getting.

At some point, all of the Obama voters are going to wonder why their mortgage isn't being paid, why their groceries are not free, and why they still have to pay for their gas.

stop it. just stop it. one crazy lady wanted Obama to help her with her mortgage and you think everyone that voted for him was that stupid? get real. seriously-- get real.

Go Glen Beck!! If the statists (obama and ilk) fail to get a muzzle on conservative talkers (Limbaugh, Hannity, Levine, and now Beck ...not Oreilly)America still stands a chance to be great ...but if the country does not heed their counsel, I am afraid that we are on the fast track to oblivion..
JLL | 3:07 p.m. March 31, 2009
A sleeping GIANT is waking. The silent majority is choosing to no longer be silent. The firmly rooted and freedom loving patriots will be a force to be reckoned with. It is evident from the sheer volume of posts on this "new" story. And I'm not from Utah! Glenn speaks the truth.
hidden 102 | 3:21 p.m. March 31, 2009
Obama DID help her with her mortgage - THAT is the problem. And yes, everybody who did vote for him is THAT stupid.
Ben J. | 3:22 p.m. March 31, 2009
Beck is sounding a necessary alarm. If you think Obama's policies are going to make you "more free,"
think again. You will have less freedoms than Americans ever since the Revoltionary War. He is tying you down financially, creating a non sustaining socialist state, and trying to make people believe in "free lunches." There is no such thing. You can believe or not believe Glen Beck. But, you better hang on to your wallet, figure that future freedoms have been mortgaged and that the Pelosi-Reed Democrats are the new face of government. I think it is a bleak future indeed.
Anonymous | 3:29 p.m. March 31, 2009
I think the best explanation for Glenn Beck is the simple truth that he has still never sobered up! He is a braying, bar-room drunk even today!
Nathan | 3:35 p.m. March 31, 2009
I always have believed that if this nation ever went down the tube, it would be because of the failed policies from within. If you want to see the end of a republic as we know it, just watch the newspapers and do nothing. People can criticize Glen Beck all they want, but he is pointing out exactly why this nation is becoming weaker, more in debt and in a most dangerous position. You are seeing a socialist state beginning to emerge. There is a move on to redistrubute the wealth. To take from those who earned it, and to give to those who have not earned it. The Democrat leaders in congress are a joke. I don't know anyone, even democrats that want to be like Harry, Nancy or Barney. What you are seeing is not what the constitution or its founders had in mind. I don't care who sounds the alarm, it just needed to be sounded.

Bush has taken a lot of the brunt for following in the wake of Clinton..who set up the "chicken in every pot" philosophy in the mortgage business.
And a Democratic Congress who didn't back him up.

And have you forgotten 9-11...we haven't had another attack like that in our country since Bush took charge!! There has been war, but, it hasn't been in our country...attacking civilians!!

How soon we forget!!

Now we have a president who has authorized 'killing the babies' as his first official presidential act!!

Beck is a clear voice, crying in the wilderness of greed and socialism!

GO BECK GO!! You are the voice of the masses!!

@ Anonymous. Although you are allowed to post as anonymous, I think you are a coward. You can say all you want about Beck and that he is a recovering alcoholic, the difference is he does something about it. You have been lulled to sleep by the Democratic Leadership. It's unfortunate that we have to wait to see whos right, but if you take a basic approach that there is no free lunch, then the Democrats have it wrong. When your "feel good" mode ends, the results will be bitter. Look at any of the countries that are considered socialist, is there one that you would like the U.S. to emulate? I thought not.

Glenn saw it coming 4 years ago | 4:29 p.m. March 31, 2009
I've been listening to Glenn for years. He wasn't always on his apocolyptic rants. But he's always been an honest, down-to-earth guy who calls it the way he sees it....AND he likes to have fun. But when he started noticing that certain stories were not being reported elsewhere, he naturally wondered why. It was the answers that bothered him. Worried him, in fact. And, realizing that it could harm his ratings, but feeling it was the right thing to do, he shared with his audience what was thinking, saying all along, don't just take my word for it. Find out for yourself. (He's never stopped saying this, actually.) It's when the things he was predicting years ago starting to come to pass that I started to really take notice. You should, too. If you don't agree with him, fine. But he's correct more often then not. So beware. In fact, that's all he's saying, "Beware". He'll be the first to admit that he hopes he's wrong. Unfortunately, his conclusions are in good company: read anything by Thomas Sowell and you'll see.

Utah is merely a tiny tiny percentage of Beck's audience..tiny...percentage. There are many people out there who have never bucked the system that are waking up, finally.

Mr. Obama, we get it. You don't like the situation you inherited: that is, a constitutionally-based, representative republic built on the principles of free market capitalism. We get it and that's why your changing it to something you and your ilk much prefer. Given the fact that neither you, nor Nancy, nor Harry, nor any other currently elected Democrat discussed any of these new changes during your election campaigns or held townhall meetigns on these radical issues, anyone with an IQ above that of a cat knows that were ALL disenfranchised now. Who knew? Who knew that the lemmings we elected as our leaders would suddenly make a mad dash for the cliff? Democracy my hat. 2010 cant get here soon enough.

To all you liberals out there who think this Democratic Congress is doing a good job with the radical plans they are proposing, get ready to call Putin, Castro, Chavez and the rest your uncle. I am not usually an alarmist. But to propose such radical socialist policies, if followed, will will weaken this country. If you know better, describe how anything that is proposed other than help on the Mexican Border and more troops in Afganistan, is a step to strengthen this country. Don't tell me that this "free lunches all around" helps us, it does not! I am grateful to Glen Beck.

You are blowin smoke and you know it. You socialist gays are dragging the country down. You will ultimately regret your silly, socialist attitudes.
This has been a great country. Look at it now and the direction it is headed. You, nor anyone else can tell me that the bail out is going to help. I can tell you that future generations are going to pay for this generations costly mistakes. When you have the European Union calling you out on financial irresponsibility, you've just about hit bottom. I will take Beck, Coulter, Malkin, Hannity and Limbaugh any day over Frank, Pelosi, Reid, Sean Penn, Denzil Washinton, Jane Fonda and the rest of the group. I don't even want to be in your gym. Hey Anonymous, are you really the "chicken in the pot" everyone is talking about? Perhaps you are the socialist in the gym. Maybe you are the gay up in the fruit tree. Your attitude and opinions do stir up conversation, but you present little information accepted as fact in your diatribes. You are far out on the liberal limb and when it breaks you will thank men like Glen Beck who were in a position to have a large audience to call the politicians on where they are trying to take this country. Please do not try and say that you understand Mormon anything. It is obvious that you are simply a "duff with ears."
Crusoe | 5:54 p.m. March 31, 2009
To Re Crusoe | 5:11 p.m.

Nice try, melon-head. But Obama never "forced" any CEO to step down. The official legislation does not REQUIRE any company to take the bail-out money! There is no law FORCING them to take ANY money at all! But the legislation DOES say that IF they decide to take a Government loan, then they have to show that they have a restructuring plan in place that is likely to succeed in turning around the performance of the company. That is no different than what Mitt Romney does on a daily basis when his management and investment firm "invests" in a company. As part of that restructuring, Boards of Directors must decide who should lead the new organization.

That is all that happened. There is NOTHING in the Constitution forbidding that.

Nothing.

Nothing at all.

Period.

Thank you, Mr. Beck. Your show gives me reason to hope for our country and for my grandchildren. We will retake our country, but we won't be dishonest about it. While the USA is still the USA we will work within our constitutional rights and reclaim that which made (makes) our country great.

When brain-dead conservatives, in their sour-grapes hysteria after having lost the government in the last election, have no response to people like Crusoe, they resort to silly little pep speaches, predicting that "someday" the problems will come and convince all the "liberals" that they were wrong. [as if only "liberals" voted for Obama!] These little promises are no different than Rush Limbaugh's stupid comment about hoping Obama (and the United States of America) FAIL just to prove to the world that the CONSERVATIVE ideology is RIGHT! How American is that? How patriotic is that? You are all a bunch of hypocrites who have NO answers for the problems this country faces, and YOU KNOW IT! That is why Beck, Hannity, Rush and all the rest spend all their time picking at NITS and GROUSING over nothing!
