Interesting comments, I just wish people would stop saying "heck"; say what you really mean! Didn't I read somewhere that the constitution will hang by a thread? It's happening sooner than you think - get ready and be prepared for what's to come; it's not going to be pretty.
Unite! | 6:07 p.m. March 30, 2009
Utah has its own 912 project group. Do a search for Utah 912 ning.

The more we are united the more our voices will be heard.

The more we are educated the more convincing our voices will be.

We will take action...WE SURROUND THEM!!!

Beck really irritates you lefties doesn't he? Afraid of him are you libs? Maybe you should be! There is a warm wind beginning to blow across America! It is the warm wind of the hope and freedom. Yes, the warm wind of self determination and the great American dream of freedom to succeed, to keep our property and efforts of our work! Freedom from overtaxation, freedom for our grandchildren, freedom from over regulation and government intrusion! The same freedom our forefathers fought and died for! It is a beautiful thing, freedom!
Luana | 7:16 p.m. March 30, 2009
I love the fact that he will not take talking points from anyone, dems or repubs, but will cut them off. He went after the attorney general of his own state today - it will be interesting to see if the IRS goes after him because of it.
He has great respect for Rush and says so. He has no problem saying he is 3rd on the radio, just like Sean gives credit to Rush and is happy to be #2.
It's too bad those who criticize him have never listened because he gives it to both sides.
It's not just Mormons who like him and listen, it is the demographics they like 25 to 45 and he is #1 with them.
I heard him on the radio as we drove across the country, knew nothing about him, but liked what he said and wrote his name on the map where we picked him up on the radio. I was so surprised and happy to have him on the radio later and ralized it was the same person.
Read your own comments! | 7:21 p.m. March 30, 2009
If only all of you would read your own comments! The fact that everyone and their dog is fighting about the legitimacy of Glenn Beck proves that his hate mongering is working. 1500+ comments? Only in Utah do people fight over such pointless topics. If you like him, watch him. If you don't like him, turn the channel. It's not like your salvation rests on whether or not you convert people to your way of thinking.
Dumb down? No thanks. | 7:39 p.m. March 30, 2009
"Anonymous | 10:04 p.m. March 29, 2009 - I don't understand how things are somuch worse than Bush era. I thought Bush would lead the world into World War 3. Obama on the other hand is just bigining his work as President. How could we critisize a president without giving a time to see an out come."

One, two, three, four, five, six.

Quite frankly, "Anonymous", things are worse than when George Bush was in office because an uneducated people like you run the country through Obama.

"Uneducated?", you defiantly say!

Yes, uneducated, as shown in your short post.

One, it is "so much", not "somuch".

Two, it should be "than the Bush era" and not "than Bush era".

Three, "bigining" is actually spelled "beginning".

Four, it is "criticize", not "critisize".

Five, "without giving a time" makes no sense. I think you mean "without giving him time"?

Six, the word is "outcome", not "out come".

Now you and others may say "Big deal!", but your post is in fact a good example of people who lack the desire to care about doing a job, even a simple post, INTELLIGENTLY and RIGHT, who plague the nation today.

rvalens2 | 7:41 p.m. March 30, 2009
Wow! Over 1500 posts and still growing! This article has certainly touched some raw nerves no matter which side of the argument you are on.
free speech | 7:52 p.m. March 30, 2009
Hey, libs, why get so worked up? You believe in free speech, right? Well, aparently you don't since you always seem to want to silence anyone with whom you disagree! Why listen to him if you don't want to hear what the man has to say, apparently you resent those of us who do! Go listen to Obama and Hillary lie to you and be happy!
Anonymous | 8:02 p.m. March 30, 2009

I am so weary of the kind of overeaching, carping nonsense that loudmouths like Beck and Limbaugh (and Olbermann) represent! Although I will stand firmly for free speech, I would LOVE to hear more intelligent, tempered, and moderated (as opposed to hysterical) discussion of the issues. I am interested in hearing ideas of how to fix the country's problems instead of all the ridiculous name-calling. I didn't like it in the Bush presidency, and I don't like it in the present administration. One day Obama is a "socialist", the next day he is a "fascist", he's "too left", he uses a teleprompter....and on and on. The level of national conversation has sunk so low, and we as Americans are not only capable of better, but we also need much better ! I am sure Beck is a nice guy, but I just cannot stomach this kind of reckless commentary anymore."

"RECKLESS COMMENTARY?"

Go get Bill Maher and Chris Matthews to speak more rationally and respectfully first before you go wanting to crucify Glenn Beck. Glenn is a church mouse compared to those two, especially Maher.
shecky | 8:20 p.m. March 30, 2009
Beck seems like a nice enough guy, but I can't agree with his politics.
and | 9:03 p.m. March 30, 2009
Are any of the democrats paying attention to what Obama is actually doing?
Me too | 9:58 p.m. March 30, 2009
I don't have anythig to say but with so many of these comments I had to join in.
Re: And | 10:13 p.m. March 30, 2009
Of course we are paying attention! We want him to continue to force you to give us more of your money and we love him for that because then, I don't have to put out any effort myself! Isn't Obama wonderful?
Gigi | 10:27 p.m. March 30, 2009
I used to listen to NPR and got very little out of it! Two months ago my friend insisted I would listen to Glen Beck! What a difference! Glen has helped me rethink about what really matters: such as going back to the basics of America's true foundations, the importance of staying informed and the difference we can play individually to make this country better than ever before! Glen and Rush are definitely my favorites!
unimportant minority | 10:46 p.m. March 30, 2009
64% job approval rating for Obama. Continue ranting and raving, and throwing your "tea" parties because nobody is listening to you.

I do sympathize with you a little bit though. I hated George Bush way before it was cool. The difference is we had legitimate things to complain about.

Someone explain to me why funding a government bureaucracy is unconstitutional? Wouldn't that make running the government unconstitutional?
Glenn's virtues | 11:16 p.m. March 30, 2009
Intelligent
Charismatic
Funny
Charming
And while not necessarily good looking he's really quite sexy.
mrl | 11:58 p.m. March 30, 2009
Thank you Glenn. The movement you have started is growing every day. The Founders would be proud.
I say | 12:34 a.m. March 31, 2009
Glen is doing a great job of getting to the core of the issues that affect the United States. He is right-on about principles and values. He is also very entertaining, making the show light hearted without diluting the seriousness of his topics..
Anonymous | 12:56 a.m. March 31, 2009
BECKY...you're doing a heck of a job

ROFLMQAO!
Jason Patron III | 1:15 a.m. March 31, 2009
I've only seen Beck a handful of times and while he has some good traits, I think ultimately he is trying to make a buck fomenting discontent and dividing America. I heard him talk about killing Michael Moore. KILLING someone that he disagrees with? Seriously? That sounds like a radical to these ears. If you don't believe me, look it up. The video is out there. Doesn't sound like someone doing "God's work" to me. That's what terrorists do.
Righthereintheheartland | 2:11 a.m. March 31, 2009
I don't know about the left being scared of Glenn Beck, but I know I am! I am afraid of anyone who calls to unite against our government with guns! Where's his Patriotism? This 912 religious thing's scariest of all mixing religion with emotions of terror on 911 with a smile to rise up together as Americans - against USA, THAT is scary stuff. I pray his advertisers understand that most people aren't sticking around to see their products, they are watching, pausing, emailing, telephoning, saying war room survivalist militia warning be armed and prepared to take over our country - is overboard! Took daughter to shooting range she was crying! We buy our children guns and scare them about America, use religious serious contradictory child like conversation...and then when, as an adult, we go way over the line on what borders insanity on tv like Glenn then we can man up and begin to sob like a child so there is no accountability! Repeating everyday doesn't make a fact - check them! He says his listeners watchers are Religious, Political, Survivalist, Militia, sounds like religious style show without Evangelism, or Patriotism, or the BIBLE!

Can you say: Hit a Nerve?? | 5:09 a.m. March 31, 2009
Too bad no one has an opinion on Glenn Beck!!

I can't believe the number of comments to this story.

This has got to be a first!
Joann | 5:56 a.m. March 31, 2009
My concern is what educational background other than the school of personal life does Glenn Beck have to make his decisions? His schtik is a combination of "love one another" , "eliminate all those who disagree" & above all "NEVER, NEVER, NEVER even indicate that the current administration can do anything right" ------- He is quietly preaching hate and rounding up followers for what?
@LOL | 7:21 a.m. March 31, 2009
tha "warm air" is from a blow hard wind bag that will amount to a big hill of beans like it always does.
Sallie | 7:43 a.m. March 31, 2009
Beck is not preaching hate and rounding up followers. He is , however....telling us to get a life and get a voice, and use it!!!!.

As Americans we fail to vote, speak up, we just "let it flow" over us...and hope for the best. We are not a socialist nation. We are a democracy. We need to band together and act it.

The little working man is hurting in their struggle to hold up tremendous $$ gov programs. We have social programs that prop up lazy people year after year, while we as workers struggle to survive.

Admittidly American's apprear to be weak and don't want to get our hands dirty with the politics of the everyday world. Many do not even vote.
"no time?" ..make time!

However, we are at a point that we actually need a punch in the gut, a wake up call. We are a democracy, and we need to act like it.

Personally I do not see anything that Obama has done right. He is a talking head for the administration and I do not believe he has an original thought in his head.

BECK IS MERELY PUTTING A VOICE TO OUR CONCERNS.
Anonymous | 7:50 a.m. March 31, 2009
You don't have to listen to Glenn long to know that his statement about those who take his show as gospel are idiots includes himself and much of Utah. He is a disaffection factory because he ropes people in who don't have the time or attention to form their own opinions. He regularly cries on his show as the article points out and this is not serious? Of course he is dead serious and he openly scorns people who aren't dead serious about his message.
Donna | 8:21 a.m. March 31, 2009
Glenn has the best show on TV! He speaks from his heart and looks for the truth. I think everyone is sick of the liberal media only reporting what the White House wants the people to know.
Move to India | 8:31 a.m. March 31, 2009
I am so sick of people compalining about social programs, taxes, and government reguation on business.

I was rasied in Utah but born in India. Guess what people in India people don't pay taxes, no social programs, or govermnet regulation on business.

Sounds to me a perfect counrty for conservatives to live in, why don't those complaining move to India?
Move to India | 8:32 a.m. March 31, 2009
BTW takes Becks with you.
Annie | 8:32 a.m. March 31, 2009
We, the people! That's what Glenn Beck stands for. Certainly our politicians are all in it for themselves - power - only!!
Anonymous | 8:43 a.m. March 31, 2009
Keep up the good work Glenn!
alhaire | 8:51 a.m. March 31, 2009
Glenn helps watch my back (gov't) while I work. I can rest assured I will get the truth reported not some bias media who gave into the gov't power campaign (sell outs). Beck's show is based on principles and values. Principles and values I would like to see in our gov't again. He's not Republican or Democrat...argh just watch the show and you will see not everyone is afraid of the gov't. Nobody should be afraid of the gov't anyway but diligent hard working people are being punished for doing so.
Auto worker | 9:00 a.m. March 31, 2009
I saw Glenn yesterday for the first time. I think I will watch him again today.
Anonymous | 9:02 a.m. March 31, 2009
Never have I heard Beck say if you take him serious you're an idoit...you must be listening to someone on CNN .

Beck hits a nerve, we are slackers as a nation expecting miracles to save us without working for them.
Soul | 9:21 a.m. March 31, 2009
Glenn you're cool man. I love your "stirring" the pot discussions on radio. Listeners from all backgrounds are smart enough to decide for themselves, what is real or not! Thank you and continue the conversations.

By the way, Obama's reckless campaign for CHANGE is looking more and more like the Ayatollah Khomeini's campaign for change (in Iran after the ouster of the Shah in the 1970s). Is history repeating itself? Ayatollah Khomeini was their mystical messiah of hope. How have the people of Iran fared in the last 30 years?

Furthermore, do Americans deserve the President that they voted into office?? Why gripe now about Obama when American citizens had decided (on their own) to "marry" him? Of course the honeymoon is over. A future radio discussion topic, maybe?

Fedup | 9:24 a.m. March 31, 2009
Strange, I don't really see Glenn as only representing "Conservative" populist opinion. Which "Liberals" aren't equally outraged by these idiotic bailouts and wanton destruction being wreaked on our economy by BOTH parties?

Obama is merely continuing the idiotic economic policies of Bush, who was primarily continuing those of Clinton, ad nauseum.

Everyone should be outraged, unfortunately, so few are educated well enough to understand economics - mindless sheep won't protest until the unions organize them.
hidden101 | 9:54 a.m. March 31, 2009
it's funny that you people say Beck is saying what you're thinking when him and people like him are the ones that influenced you to think those things in the first place.

seriously, get over the socialism thing. repeating "socialism" over and over again does not make it a fact. Beck is making money hand over fist by making his fans angry with talk of socialism and communism. does he honestly believe that capping executive salaries at companies that receive bailout money is communism?? the fact that the idea is even entertained by ignorant people like him and his followers (again, FOLLOWERS), just goes to show you that a previous commenter was correct- extremism can happen in America too, not just the Middle East. i find the liberal left to be more critical of the shows they watch, while the conservative right tends to follow words of their heroes like Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, and now Beck, without any much critical thinking. it's pretty scary.
Extremism on the Radio | 9:59 a.m. March 31, 2009
It is frustrating you all love Glenn Beck so much. As a life-long conservative republican, It is sad to see such an sarcastic, paranoid, and ugly version of extreme conservatism that will not help anyone worth anything win an election. You may "surround" them, but you are helping them to secure their power for decades. Moderation wins. Extremism loses. Congratulations. I hope you are happy to revel in your bravado.
Pat H. | 10:11 a.m. March 31, 2009
Thanks Glenn for standing up. Someone once said "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!"
steven | 10:34 a.m. March 31, 2009
Why is it that the same people who bring up MORMON, never mention United Church of Christ. Also anyone who has listened very long knows that Glen hammers both parties , and has been foretelling of this financial crisis for almost 4 years
Anonymous | 10:39 a.m. March 31, 2009
MR. Beck SPEAKS for A LOT of U.S. Citizens who are FED UP with our so called "Representatives" in Washington! It is time that the so called silent majority is heard - like a screaming banshee! All we have now in government is a bunch of left over "Hippies" from the 60's! NO ONE IN WASHINGTON speaks for me or my fellow AMERICANS - they just do whatever they want and really DO NOT CARE what the CONSTITUTION says - or WHAT WE THINK!
