From what I've heard and seen, I like the guy -and, hell, I'm not even religious. Those amusing to be sure, he didn't come off as a nut, from what I've sampled, not a lie to be heard and he's not overbearing with sanctimony. I think he does his job well. He pushes the right (and left) buttons and does so in an entertaining way -as evidenced by his phenomenal viewership and ratings. I'll admit to enjoying his radio better than his television - though, to be fair, I've sample far more of the radio.

Glenn Beck speaks to the heart of the matter. The Obama administration and our government as a whole has been ignoring their bosses, the people, for years and it's got to stop. We are taking this country back. You find it frightening? Good. That's the point. We won't use violence but we sure are fighting mad.
Avee | 6:21 a.m. March 30, 2009
Obama doesnt need the rich people yet, hes got the Chinese. What will he promise the Chinese so they will keep bailing out our country? They (the Chinese) will be running the country. We will have economic justice, everyone will be poor!

Anonymous, you'd have more credibility if you could spell. As for giving Obama time for an outcome, we are already seeing the outcome. You can't spend your way out of debt. It's basic economics. He's spent more in his first 2 months than every president in history from George Washington to George Bush. Our great grandchildren won't be able to see this paid off. He is printing money without anything to back it up. History shows that when nations do that they experience hyper-inlfation. You could easily see a carton of eggs that costs $1.00 this year cost $10.00 or $100.00 in just a few years. The spending has got to stop is we are to survive.

If you don't have anything good to say about Beck. Your nuttier than a Fruit cake.
Of Course we realize that Liberals can not accept the Truth, Liberals only Believe lies and Half Truths. Thats their make up
Terry | 6:22 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn is a true voice in forming a group of people who work hard and want government out of their lives. Individuals who want to remain free in this country. There was a time you could own property and the amount of property tax you paid was not tied to your income. There was a time that the state did not already own part of your property as you pay your mortgage and when you sell they receive 2%. Our government is confiscating everything and redistributing everything.
Dave in Texas | 6:22 a.m. March 30, 2009
It's entertainment folks, tilted a bit but nevertheless entertainment. Somewhat like the NY Crimes, I meant Times. I finally had to ditch my subscription to the Grey Lady, only thing worth a damn was Will Shortz daily crossword, so I now tune in to Beck along with the rest of the FOX lineup. Why? Looking for the truth I suppose. You sure as hell won't find it in the MSM.
Shootist | 6:22 a.m. March 30, 2009
The liberals, welfare receivers, democrats, idiots, oops, I repeat myself, are trying to do the hatchet job on Glenn just as they are trying on Palin. They forget about the HONEST voters that voted against obama.

"A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed." Are you talking about Obama?
Derek | 6:23 a.m. March 30, 2009
Decent job NYT. I was expecting a hit-job but outside of pulling the "oh, yea, did we mention he was Morman" ala Mitt Romney last year, it was mostly fair. But why is it so hard for you guys to call Bill O'reilly what he is registered as- an independant? If you did, you would have people like me williing to pay for the Sunday Times again.
Cindy | 6:23 a.m. March 30, 2009
You can say what you want about Glenn Beck (ZULU), but I think I would like to compare the list of books you have read versus the books he has read (and commented on) since you make the accusation that he is uninformed. He consistently asks his listeners to research the issues for themselves. Most politicians and media want us to take their word for it. Case in point, Al Gore and his assertion that the global warming debate is over, conveniently ignoring the large body of dissenting scientific research.
sierram37 | 6:23 a.m. March 30, 2009
Politically Correct Journalism -NOT. Beck just talks facts - You can learn more than our kid's are being indoctrinated in school. Unfortunately, more than 50% want "theirs" and are unwilling to work for it or aspire to achieve. That leaves the rest of us sap's to pay for it if we want to maintain our lifestyles. Pretty sad state of affairs - That's all Beck is saying.
Lee Cole | 6:23 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is so popular because he speaks as most would like to.It's people like Beck that make people think.Rachel Maddow had the ratings Beck has.Maddow is a moth piece for MSNBC while Beck speaks for himself and the majority of Americans. The movement to take back this country is beginning and people like Beck have paved the way.

re commenter ExMoDon,
Glenn Beck is intelligent and speaks the truth. The more he talks, the better!!

re commenter zulu,
His popularity on cable news speaks for itself.
A sad state of affairs with OBAMA as the incompetent president... someone who is uninformed about economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed.
doppler | 6:23 a.m. March 30, 2009
Super radio and TV show!
As a taxpayer, a local radio show host and one involved with a April tea party, he speaks for the many when the powerful (think Congress/Obama) forget it really is "WE THE PEOPLE"
Bob | 6:23 a.m. March 30, 2009
The more he talks, the better!!
I agree Maybe the people with good solid values will wake up and demand an end to the move toward socalisim.
Kaiser Cerzae | 6:24 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn is saying what most people believe to be true. The one's who want to shut him down are the on the left. It is amazing that those who were once the champions of free speech are now the censors. I guess speech is only free if it is from the Left. The other defense of the Left is to make all of it's intelligent opposition into Right-wing Nuts, because they can't win a lucid intelligent argument. Oh yeah, the other tool for opposition to Beck is that he is one of the spook nut MORMON'S...oops did I say it? Look, I am a Christian conservative. The man is moral and making some intelligent, sound arguments that I believe to be true. One of the pricipals this country was founded on is freedom of religion. Notice I didn't say the right to own a house that you cannot afford. The man can worship as he chooses. If your only argument is a school yard screech that "He's a nut, a liar, or a crazy religious nut," then do us all a favor and shut up.
IMPEACH OBAMA! | 6:24 a.m. March 30, 2009
zulu, you're missing the point. And I'm positive you're arrogantly in the dark regarding the economy, our history, the philosophy of government "by the people," and whatever science you claim to have a better grasp of. Obama has a socialist agenda that denies Americans of their pursuit of liberty. He should be sued for it, impeached and imprisoned.
Paddy29 | 6:24 a.m. March 30, 2009
I love watching Liberals recoil in the face of virtuous words.
Not drinking the cool-aid | 6:25 a.m. March 30, 2009
The control the Pelosi/Reid/Obama group is taking makes the threats of Bush ignoring the constitution look lame. So far Obama hasn't done much (except take what is a periodic recession except for the banking segment, and use it as a platform for the launching the worst economic plan in history....see comments from western world leaders). But more interesting is the way his critics are being mocked and silenced. Never before has there been the intentional dienfranchising of such a large group of citizens from the top leaders.

I'm not a paranoid republican. Voted for Clinton and against Bush II (twice). But stay awake and alert America....There is true danger as this naive puppet is run by his Chicago gang and the Pelosi powerhouse. The rest of the world, which was supposed to love us after he came in, is already rejecting his crazy ideas (especially on "stimulus packages"). Obama is shooting for King Obama and permanent Democratic Party rule. Watch the little things align. And Stay Awake!
Bill | 6:25 a.m. March 30, 2009
The reason Beck is so popular is that he is speaking for the millions of Americans who feel the same way but don't happen to have a platform to reach millions of Americans. He is right on the money with his message. Obama and his band of Chicago thugs are out to control every aspect of the private sector as they can get away with. It's never about helping people with left wingers, it's about power and control. We need to throw everyone out of office in 2010, Dem and Repub, who are not standing for and governing by our Constitution.
Senior Citizen | 6:25 a.m. March 30, 2009
I like Glenn Beck. Listen tohim every night at 5pm.

He is a breath of fresh air.

That says it all!
Al J | 6:25 a.m. March 30, 2009
Basically Beck is a coward. He's just in it for the money and himself. He believes in nothing and stands for nothing. Another empty suit. I have more respect for a hard core Marxist because he has the guts to fight for what he believes and Glenn will not risk his own neck for any cause or belief. He just sits on the sidelines and avoids all risk to himself. He will not risk his neck for YOU!
GRC | 6:25 a.m. March 30, 2009
You're right! The more he talks the better. My wonderful daughter who, after spending 4 years at Penn State, drank the KoolAid that is Obama, said to me that Beck is a nut and an alarmist. I told her to provide me with just ONE statement of his that was not true or 100% accurate and I will change the channel and never look back...... I'm still watching. We just had a two year political campaign that was nothing but alarmism.... see what it got us!
Txmom | 6:25 a.m. March 30, 2009
I've been listening to Beck for 3 years. He loves our country and I don't know anyone who works harder to be informed about economy, history, government and science. You have control of the dial....if you don't like him, don't watch him. We are not all robots that follow a man. We have a mind to think for ourselves. He gives those of us with like mind a voic.
scheelski | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
I have listened to Glenn since he was small time radio in Tampa, Florida. He makes you think. He does not tell you which road to choose. Yes, he is a constitutionalist, but what's wrong with that. The courts have interpreted it to mean things that are not even written. He is just another voice to hear and turn him off if you don't like him. He will be the first to tell you he is an entertainer and also came from a tough childhood and made plenty of mistakes himself growing up.
M2 | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck speaks for many, many Americans that are outraged by the behavior of our President and the direction in which he is steering our country.
Real American | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck speaks his mind, loves his country, and respects the Creator - all of which are considered "radical" in our society. Open your eyes America.
LeChat | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
I say God bless Glenn Beck. He tells it like it is.
Don | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
Fact: Fox news is the most trusted news network
Fact: Fox viewers are the most informed, succesful and happiest.

You don't have to like it you can even refrute it but if you research it you will then become informed.
freedom | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
what, exactly, is he lying about?
re: Zulu | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
You nailed it.
Jbaker | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
Since when does sensibility follow only party lines? Politicians have turned a deaf ear to the people who elected them and someone (Beck) Thank God is endeavoring to hold them accountable. Any person who wants to paint Beck as as uninformed buffoon, has their own head in the sand. One day soon the definition of rich will not be the size of your bank account, but how well stocked your pantry is. God help us all with politicians and citizens who are NOT students of history, their ignorance is robbing the future of my children.
RangerSmart | 6:26 a.m. March 30, 2009
Mr. Beck is doing more to preserve the Constitution than any of the 'representative' hacks in DC and exhibits more integrity, honor, and love for country than 99% of the media could muster.
bigfoot | 6:27 a.m. March 30, 2009
Amazing how "zulu" thinks anyone who disagrees is "uninformed." Wonder where "zulu" gets information? CNN? MSNBC? Boy, have they got it right! Their ratings prove it.
Pollyanna | 6:27 a.m. March 30, 2009
I do not like the fact that Glenn Beck speaks so badly of The Obama. The Obama is here to heal us of our wounds. I am giving extra money to the government this year in my taxes because the government knows better how to spend my money than I do. I wish Glenn Beck understood that.
Jimbo | 6:27 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn ROCKS! And the fact that those commenting on this page hate him so much just proves he speaks the TRUTH! Too bad moonbats! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
Free Dom | 6:27 a.m. March 30, 2009
This guy speaks out for truth, freedom, justice, and liberty. How dare he. He must be shouted down.
Pro America | 6:27 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is filling a void for the disenfranchised. He's sincere, funny, and right on the money. God bless Glenn....and America.
jimbo | 6:27 a.m. March 30, 2009
the only thing wrong with Glen Beck's show is that it should be on between 7 - 8 PM. I think Bill O'Reilly is nervous. Liberals hate anybody that tells the truth!
Jane | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is one of the most informed people I know. His viewership is so large because his fans are equally well informed. We read, we research, we listen to different points of view. We don't open our mouths and swallow whatever MSNBC is dishing out today.
Ed | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
He's pointing out the insanity of the extreme left which Obama represents, and it's driving them mad! Go Glenn! Never forget, though, liberals don't care about outcomes. If they destroy a segment of society, it's okay because their intentions, in their eyes at least, were good, and to them that's all that matters. No wonder none of them are businessmen.
PHILLY JIM | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck criticized Bush plenty. We don't have to wait longer to judge Obama because it's his ideas that are wrong for the country, and he has been brilliant in executing them.
Using the terms "emergency" and "crisis" to cram through significant changes that normally would have taken significant debate to get passed, he even suckered experienced politicians like Arlen Specter into going against their gut instincts and voting for the spending bill.
Now our government has more control than ever, has their hands in private companies, and even can take the time to lash out against private citizens.
It doesn't scare anyone to hear Barney Frank demanding the names AIG employees who received bonuses?
The republicans have finally sobered up after screwing up the last 8 years. now we just hope the Dem's can't do too much damage before they get voted out.
SeTx | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
Wonder why those calling Beck a liar, nut, uninformed, crazy, etc. just discovered these qualities in him. He's been on the air for quite some time yet oddly enough, he's been no problem for some of these loudmouth comedians who *are* some of the most uninformed, glib jerks until he starts getting ratings at Fox. Hmmm. Contrary to some opinions expressed here many Americans find him quite informed and willing to suggest reference materials for what he refers to during his program.
Uh huh | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
I've never watched Glenn Beck in my life.

But ExMoDon, you have any proof to back up your comments, or are you another shining example of an all-inclusive, respectful, enlightened, open minded liberal?
SawItOnDrudge | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
zulu | 12:22 a.m. March 30, 2009
His popularity in Utah speaks for itself. A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed.
------------------------
Wow, you are the King of Glib. First, what's with the anti-Utah sentiment? It doesn't make much sense to indict an entire group of people for being...from Utah! That's like indicting me for being a Southerner (that never happens...). Second, saying Beck AND his audience are uninformed is, in itself, uninformed. The former proves that you don't watch his show and criticize only out of political bias, while the latter directly contradicts poll-driven evidence that Obama voters and leftists in general are ignorant vis-a-vis current events and the political system - that's what makes them such willing sheep.
dennis | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is the Howard Beal of this time. People, educated people, are getting fed up with the wicked witch of the West, Nancy Pelosi and her flying monkeys. How much longer are these clowns of DC going to blame the last President for their screw ups? Beck just says what most of us are sayiing. He just has a mic and a TV camera.
SavingFreak | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
The problem most people have is that Beck's ramblings are actually based in history. We just have to look at the terrible state of affairs in Europe to see where the President's policies are getting us.

The core of what Beck says is true he just exaggerates for effect ( just like any good entertainer). People would not watch or take him seriously if he did not make these exaggerations.
MD | 6:28 a.m. March 30, 2009
I think he is the best. We need more like him to stop socialism.
Craig | 6:29 a.m. March 30, 2009
Has anybody read the Constitution lately. He speaks the truth.
