Judging from some of the harsh comments some people are un-engaged and ill-informed. Glenn is hugely entertaining and works very hard. I began listening to his radio program when it first came to Pittsburgh several years ago.

I think he's hitting his stride mixing populism, education and involvement. People can resonate with him because he's engaging them and getting them engaged. He's not lambasting anybody who does not deserve it. There will always be the naysayers and nattering nabobs of negativism, so let them post their drivel whilst they allow themselves to be conscripted to the Obama civilian service corp and start ratting-out their "non-conforming Obamaphobes."

Anonymous: "How could we critisize a president without giving a time to see an out come." Oh, believe me it's easy.....in 60 days he's managed to out spend Bush's 6 years of war in Iraq, his budget will generate 1 trillion in debt each year for the next decade, his "stimulus" package doesn't even provide anything for stimulating anything except left wing groups and organizations, countries that he wanted to extend the hand of friendship (our enemies)have pretty much have spit on him, he wants to expand the war in Afghanistan to Pakistan....currently that government is friendly to us but has a strong hard line opposition and if it turns to a taliban style rule we are hosed because they already have nukes. That doesn't even touch on how he's about to whittle down the First Ammendment and gut the Second Ammendment here in this country.

The monitor of this blog objects when Madow is called a lesbian, which she admits openly, but does not object when Beck is called offensive names like liar, and nut case...this blog is nothing but obama's personal propaganda page.

zulu, you need to watch or listen to the Glenn Beck show before you call Glenn uninformed. He is the most informed and principled person on the radio and TV. He does not endorse any party. He says it is not about Right and Left, but about right and wrong. He asks people to consider values and principles and get back to what the founders of our country put in place by the sacrifice of their blood, treasure and sacred honor. He encourages people to read and learn for themselves. It is sad to say America but we have forgotten these very pricnciples and values that made us great. Glenn is simply ringing a bell and asking us to wake up before it is too late!
Mike Morrow | 7:45 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu's comments are telling. "Uninformed"? Dissenting opinions and viewpoints now get berated throughout the media and in public discourse with the "Your stupid and I'm not" argument. Hope and change indeed. What's new is old, and what's old is new. The only thing Beck is uninformed about is how strongly some people in this country will fight to muzzle dissenting opinions if those opinions are not liberal.
bls46 | 7:45 a.m. March 30, 2009
Yes, Beck can sometimes be a bit over the top.....but he's also willing and able to be real with his outrage at what passes for governance from both parties. This college/grad school professional finds it entirely refreshing to hear truth spoken with passion and conviction. Much better than the sanitized , fawning pap that the msm chooses to pawn off as news coverage. There's a reason Beck's show resonates with millions....and it's a similar reason that Rush's show garners so many listeners. The 'silent ' majority chooses to find its views represented ....and the name calling and invective around our choices are mere reflections of knee jerk stereotyping....and fear that we will be silent no more. The stakes are too high for acquiescence to the power grab, the outrageous spending going on in Congress and the Administrative Branch that threaten to change our government beyond recognition and tip us toward the socialism that has dragged down much of Europe for years.

a nut and a liar . . . I love iberal discourse. It's so . . . intelligent.
Attilashrugs | 7:45 a.m. March 30, 2009
How do you like the article stating that he, Beck, is reflecting the views of a alioenated CLASS. It is implying that like the Hillary Dems of the "flyover country" it is just a particular class of disaffected people to whom he appeals.
This is just the strategy the Left has used to their advantage. Paint any who oppose hispanization, those who don't get a shiver of pride in being told that the white race is just one more minority in a nation of minorities, and that "we are all socialists", as one particular class, the word implied but left unsaid is "redneck!".
Time for Red Necks to recall who it was who came to this wild continent and settled and tamed it. We, the Red Necks are their sons and daughters!
John | 7:45 a.m. March 30, 2009
ExMoDon, Can you please document just one thing that Glenn Beck has lied about? And also please give us detailed examples of why he is a nut or is it just easier being a sheep make a statement that you feel is popular?

Attacking your opposition with talking points is great until you actually need data to back it up.
puffmomma | 7:45 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is a breath of fresh air, giving us HOPE that we, the American people will in the end, have our voices heard. That there is HOPE for our country, and that, finally, the conservatives in Congress will stand up for the values and principals that our country was founded on.
Patriot | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu said: His popularity in Utah speaks for itself. A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed.

Think you are a bit confused - sounds like you are describing the 99.9% of Democrat voters who voted for and support Obama. Beck watchers actually can think and reason for themselves.
stealth | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu, Have you ever listened to him? Easy statments to make but no facts to back it up. Maybe you should pull your head out of the dark place in which it resides and educate yourself about the history of this country - which Beck advocates. You and the Obomits are pathetic.
nick | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
People like zulu always make me smile. It's great when uninformed ignorant people try to suppress opposition with insulting comments to entire groups of people (like an entire audience or an entire state) while at the same time trying to convince people that they are the voice of acceptance and tolerance. It truly is people on the left like zulu who are the most hateful and least tolerant out there. Keep posting comments zulu, you prove my point with every keystroke.
The_Pilgrim | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
No comment, just going to sit back and watch all of the liberals throw ad homenems and ridicule out! It's quite entertaining, since an original thought and a cold glass of water would kill the average liberal. Maybe, since liberals now dominate the political scene, it's time for them to grow up. Not that it will ever happen...
Ron in Columbia | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
He speaks to the majority who remain silent but will eventually rise up and restore the constitution. "..A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecc. 4:12
God, the Constitution and We The People are that cord.
Dave_NH | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
Obama and the far Left are selling our country down the River. Ya Glenn believes in God and Country what a new idea! Dave
jeff | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
I like different voices coming out of my TV. I even watch the liberal shows, to see if they are any closer to 'coming around'. Pst....they aren't.
Wayne | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn beck speaks nothing but the truth. He is the voice of the people. Obama has already begun the destruction of this great country. Are you aware that he has added more to the national deficit in two months than President Bush did in 5 years? Look it up. That was my only complaint about President Bush, that he spent like a democrat. After seeing the antics of Obama, I know now that I was way off. Wake up people, the safe years of Bush have left us, now we must look out for ourselves, just as Obama is doing.
Panama | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
If you don't like what Glen says please put on your Brown Shirt or Turban so we can give you equal recognition!!
JD | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
Sounds like you described the President.
Ditto to Freedom | 7:46 a.m. March 30, 2009
Finally a good man recognized by the left. What's the matter? Getting scared for the grave mistake your wonderful left wing government is to our country? This man is only warning you fools of is what to come. Listen on your own for once, and stop being led around like blind sheep. Thank you Glenn
dave | 7:47 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hey zulu,
I think you are the one who is uninformed on the
economy, history, government and science.
Do you really think Glen Beck is uninformed ?
I know without ever meeting you that you get your news from bill maher and jon stewart.
jw | 7:47 a.m. March 30, 2009
Thank you, Glenn - the more exposure of this nut case of a President; (I can't believe this guy was
elected) the better. How did these crazy people
get control of the government? Is this the county
that hundreds of thousands died for, to promote the
policies of "Big Brother" and "Big Sister"? WOW!!!
Anonymous | 7:47 a.m. March 30, 2009
Typical liberal reporting. Let's look at the choice of words used in this article shall we?

"......conservative populist anger." 2nd paragraph, 1st sentence. So here we have a liberal NYT so-called journalist pairing up conservatives with anger. This sets the tone for the article, one of discredit towards any program that has a conservative following.

"...Fox News long identified as the favored channel for conservatives and Republican leaders...? 6th paragraph, 1st sentence. Would the NYT ever admit that CNN and MSNBC are favorites among liberals?

"...Beck is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints..." 10th paragraph, 2nd sentence. So what??? Is belief in God offensive to these journalists?

dave | 7:47 a.m. March 30, 2009
zulu,

Utah and the rest of the flyover states ARE the real country. They are educated, smart, and make up the bulk of the taxpayers.

The coastal states and large cities are welfare eaters and vote accordingly.

Beck knows far more than most about the history of the United States. Maybe you should read a book and find a few things out yourself.
Yadid | 7:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
Conservatism hasn't gone anywhere. It's suffering from a lack of leadership and the media trying to push it too far left. Beck speaks for a lot of dissaffected americans who are utterly dumbfounded at how the media elected a rank amateur to the office of President. Beck is one of the few voices offering solutions to those of us who are wondering what do we do next. The people voted for hope and change and are not liking what they've seen so far. Meaningless platitudes mean squat when you can't feed your family. It's bad and it's going to get worse and the media can cover up his ineptitude for so long. The ratings back up what I'm saying. I've talked to people who are furious over this mess, who have never had anything to say about politics before. The moderates and the sleepers are gone and I'd be curious to see how the election would go if it were held today. Wishful thinking.
frank | 7:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck may be nuts, bur 90% of what he says is right on. The Democrats are going to destroy this country if we let them.
Anonymous | 7:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
Why do we (the electorate) keep putting these idiots in office? All they do is vote for the insiders and fill their own pockets that we reluctantly give.
delquattro | 7:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
MSNBC must be worried because it's 3 of their 5 viewers are posting ad hominems here, instead of dutifully tuning into their propaganda.
Patriot Tom | 7:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is the best! We indeed do surround them!
Katerina | 7:49 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is awesome. It's about time someone has the nerve to take on both Republicans and Democrats. This guy is about what America used to be and not what it has become. For you Bush haters - Beck had as many issues with Bush as he does with Obama....
Steady Eddie | 7:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Zulu, have you listened to or watched Beck? Or are you just stuck in your liberal slanted echo-chamber? Mr. Beck is well informed, which is why people like you try to attack him by questioning his knowledge of the issues. Nice job of picking up and riffing on those talking points. One can post what they want on these comment blogs, even if the statments are substantially vapid. That is the beauty of this country. Having said this, be prepared to have them questioned.
rudebutcool | 7:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
ExMo...what has he lied about?....Obama?...the economy?...of course you haven't a clue....maybe your vocabulary is so very small that you can't think right now...its sounds like its limited to "change you can believe in"...wanna buy a clue?
geologist | 7:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
I like his energy and his fact pies in the face of liberal dead head zombies.
Annie | 7:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
Love Glenn Beck, he speaks for many, many Americans. At least he is doing a service of providing us with the tough questions and revealing the truth about what is going on. He is not a tool of the MSM or Congress and we desperately need a voice and someone who is willing to investigate and give a platform for knowledgable people to shine a light on what is truly occuring.
MJH | 7:50 a.m. March 30, 2009
ExMoDon-Please elaborate on what Glenn Beck has "lied" about, instead of making a clueless, unintelligent comment. Beck is one of the more honest commentators on tv and radio. I guess that is why the Left hates him-THE TRUTH HURTS!
JT | 7:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
Yes you elected an uniformed lightweight.
Erno342 | 7:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
He's an idiot...and so is his constituency.
DG | 7:51 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck has been right on many issues way in advance of most media outlets. It is very evident more people need to study economics, not obamanomics. I realize many people do not like to hear reality because it may be difficult to cope with. They prefer to imitate an ostrich and bury their head in the sand. If they want to deal with reality, they should start a study of Austrian economics, and then they might begin to appreciate some of Glenn Beck's humor and knowledge.
JBnID | 7:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
It is amazing how common sense is failed to be recognized when its spoken plainly.
Go get ,em Glenn. You're doing great when you stir up the stupid.
Anonymous | 7:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
Love the liberal comments here. "liar", "nut", "Utah", "uninformed". How about debating his principles instead of calling him names and tossing empty rhetoric around? Oh right, liberals don't debate, the PREACH. in the words of Al Gore "The debate is over". Go Glen Beck! The proof is in the numbers. People are listenening and relating to his opinions. In two months Obama has destroyed the free markets and weakened our national defense. He is the traitor.
OldGuy | 7:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
I've watched Glen Beck along with O'reilly and
Hannity. While they can be entertaining, much of what they say is flawed rhetoric and I think a bit
dangerous. When I discuss politics with folks, I can normally tell if they watch the aforementioned three hosts.
Please remember, all of them along with those on
MSNBC and CNN are simply telling us their opinions
and have no special insight or knowledge. Portions of MSNBC balance out some of what the three say but one needs to do their own research to find the facts.
Cable news is a misnomer...its really cable opinion.
James Marsden | 7:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
First things first: Beck is NOT a conservative; he is a libertarian. Second, it is not hard to not want to kiss Obama's fanny, as he is a disaster, and more people are realizing this. The 2008 election will be seen as the 1976 election was: people voted for Obama for change (like they did with Jimmy Carter), and instead got a man who is wholly unqualified to be President. Getting rid of Jimmy Carter in 1980 meant getting Ronald Reagan; who will the GOP nominate to succeed President Empty Suit in 2012? That election cannot come fast enough. We surely need to to clean house in DC. Four years of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will be this nation's undoing.
Antonio | 7:52 a.m. March 30, 2009
Just another bag of hot air . . . Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck - all the same.
Concerned about America in NC | 7:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
I love Glenn Beck - he tells it like it is. His view on how we are headed toward Socialism is right on target!!! Folks need to wake up before it is too late - we will find ourselves looking like the old USSR real soon. And we all remember how successful that kind of government was! Our founding framers never intended for government to interfere and run our lives as it is now on a path to do. Less government and a turning back to faith and morality is what this country needs - Glenn is sounding that message!
Suzanne | 7:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Love Glenn Beck...DVR his show and watch it every day!
Adam | 7:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is a foolish, ignorant reactionary who never crosses the party line (unless it is from the right) and never says anything that might contradict his religion. An unthinking fool for those who don't know better.
Anonymous | 7:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
EXmodon

If you want to voice an Opinion try to have something intelligent to say. Calling names is juvenile. And only goes to prove Glenn Becks points. Democrats have nothing but hateful rhetoric and no real answers.
zulu, all of Utah is uninformed but you are the enlightened one?
I think Glenn Beck is great. He gives in depth information and has experts to back him up. You should try ti actually listen..
Anonymous | 7:53 a.m. March 30, 2009
You people who are calling him nuts go ahead let big brother take your money, your freedoms and you stand in lines to let the government hand you out food, money and tell you what you can and can't do. The IDIOTS who voted for Obama are the poor and the young people who want handouts and don't know what it is like to work for anything. Maybe you do need a national government to baby sit you until you get some really life experience.
Russell | 7:54 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck lives in a gated house so that he can hide away from the Americans he loves so much.
