I don't understand how things are somuch worse than Bush era. I thought Bush would lead the world into World War 3. Obama on the other hand is just bigining his work as President. How could we critisize a president without giving a time to see an out come.
Omar | 10:31 p.m. March 29, 2009
You mean to tell us, some Americans think Obama will ruin our country? Not the ones getting "free" money! They love him! You go Glenn, you are doing God's work!
ExMoDon | 12:14 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is a nut and a liar. The more he talks, the better!!

Who are the disaffected Americans? TAXPAYERS and freedom loving Americans who can govern themselves just fine without an overreaching, overintrusive, punitive and abusive "big brother" running our lives, confiscating our property and rights!
zulu | 12:22 a.m. March 30, 2009
His popularity in Utah speaks for itself. A sad state of affairs indeed. In a nutshell...someone who is uninformed ahout economy, history, government, science and more preaching to an audience who is equally uninformed.
patriot | 12:56 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hey,Zulu what part of limited Government and 2nd Amendment rights do you not understand. Fill this blog with your knowledge. Watch on google video: (Take your money back)

"Conservatives" are just the louder of the 2. I would say I lean to the left, but am definitely not a democrat. The country is run by corporations, not by the people, and the sooner you right wing looneys realize that, the sooner we can fix the problem. The democrats are not your enemy, politicians are. I understand it hurts to come out of the bubble, but it was your party (with a lot of help from the democrats) that ran our country in to the ground. When Beck says he is a rodeo clown, he is stating the absolute truth.
Re; zulu | 1:33 a.m. March 30, 2009
He is popular all over the country as evidenced by,as the the article points out, his very high TV ratings, not just Utah. Maybe there are more so called "uniformed" people than you think. Or maybe they are more "informed" than you think! If you don't like Beck, don't listen to him! There is a magic button on your remote, use it and stay uninformed. But for a growing number of informed Americans, we have just about had enough government abuses of power!
Bro Joseph | 1:38 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is a Clown and only a clown.
Putting on his "wa wa face for his sad performance as a Republican Puppet.
His pretense of a latter day saint is wanting!
Ranting and raviing because he and his puppets cannot have their 700 Billion dollars to buy more war machines for a defunct war. His "Idol" Bush is fallen and a disgrace to true Latter day saints who aspire Peace. Neo Conservatives will always have enough of the Taxpayers money to play their three ring circus. Let the clown perform!

I am so weary of the kind of overeaching, carping nonsense that loudmouths like Beck and Limbaugh (and Olbermann) represent! Although I will stand firmly for free speech, I would LOVE to hear more intelligent, tempered, and moderated (as opposed to hysterical) discussion of the issues. I am interested in hearing ideas of how to fix the country's problems instead of all the ridiculous name-calling. I didn't like it in the Bush presidency, and I don't like it in the present administration. One day Obama is a "socialist", the next day he is a "fascist", he's "too left", he uses a teleprompter....and on and on. The level of national conversation has sunk so low, and we as Americans are not only capable of better, but we also need much better ! I am sure Beck is a nice guy, but I just cannot stomach this kind of reckless commentary anymore.
RI Reader | 4:36 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is an embarrassment to the Church and to himself. His populist drivel is a cash grab, which only FOX would air. He was too sleazy for CNN. He's in the same category as Rush and O'Reilly: big mouth, loud format, cut-off any one who disagrees, and sell it to the sad, lonely people who need someone to blame for their sad, lonely lives. Anyone who follows this prophet (profit?) into the wilderness deserves to be scammed!

Talk is evidently NOT cheap - it pays very well, especially when it is so mis-guided and inane.
Eugene | 5:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
3 of the first 5 bloggers here are actually defending Obama and dissing Beck. This is what is wrong now in America. In his first few months, Obama and his liberal left have destroyed the very fabric of the American ideal. As Americans, we should demand resignations from anyone who has supported these crazy left-wing attacks on our Constitution.

Beck speaks as with the heart of a patriotic American who wants his country back. Obama speaks as a tyrannist who wants to "spread the wealth" and insert government into our daily lives.

Who would you rather listen to?

This country is still conservative in the majority. We need a true conservative to rise up and lead this country back to prosperity.
Leadership | 5:12 a.m. March 30, 2009
What america lacks is leadership. We are a nation of disenfrachiised americans with no direction and every culture wanting recognition as an independent nation of nationalities. Every culture, even the illegal foreign nationals, are seeking to be recognized as individual nationalities instead of uniting as a nation of americans. A nation of many tounges does not stay united very long and history has proven this out and it puts america on a path of self destruction. Obama and his gang of nationalities are doing nothing to unite america as a nation with goals, ideals or plans for the future. Government cannot fix the economy no matter how much it spends or gifts is bestows, only the people and well paying jobs can restore any economic stability. Securing jobs for americans should be government priority, not protecting and handing out money to illegal ailens and their families. The working american is our recovery and all foreigners should be expelled with prejudice so america can recover.

To anonymous at 10:04.You're right,Barry is JUST beginning his work! And he has already out spent every other adm. since George Washington. But in your eyes, it's OK because Obama is doing it, right?Simple math is the judge of Obama. You want us to "wait and see an out come"?Wait for what? Are you that dim witted to understand what these people are doing? You are so fixated on the past and what Bush did that you are blind to our future. When it comes to spending tax payers money,Obama is worse that any past president. That is a fact.
nay sayers | 5:38 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen Beck is a decent honorable man. He has principles, and speaks what he really believes rather than saying what is polically expedient. He loves Amreica and is no nut case. The real nut cases are those who despise America and want to turn us into a socialist state. It's a sad state of affairs when a govenment steals from one class only to give to another. Many fortunate enough to have more thn somone else give to charities, now the current adminsitration want to stifle charitable contributions through taxation, so it can create a class dependent on government hand outs. High taxation punishes acheivers. I don't know about you, but I've never received a paycheck from a poor man. Exess taxation, exhorbidant spending, and an intrusive government was the seedbed of our economic straits. Negative actions produce negative consequences. "We reep what we sow." Glenn calls it like he sees it. Many of you have never consistently listened to the man are regurgitating the left's mantra.
Who's uninformed? | 5:48 a.m. March 30, 2009
Hey Zulu, if you would actually watch Glen's show (which I doubt you have), you see that you are wrong. Glen is highly informed and has excellent and intelligent guests every day. Just because he does not simply repeat the left-wing ideology of the biased-mainstream media, you say he is uninformed. Liberalism is not equivalent to intelligence. The fact that anyone can say Beck is uninformed about history, etc., just shows that either (1) you have not watched his show much at all, or (2) you are willfully dishonest. He has extremely informed guests on a regular basis. I dare you to actually watch his show for at least a week---taking note of the guests---and then you will find you are wrong.
@zulu | 5:55 a.m. March 30, 2009
Of whom do you speak Obama or Beck?

Both are popular, make sense to many and have a wide following.

Personally I'd much rather listen to and watch Beck!
Janice Lee | 6:01 a.m. March 30, 2009
The left will begin to attack Beck in earnest as he connects with more patriotic Americans who love their country and believe in the constitution.
Kristi | 6:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is AWESOME... I never miss his show..
By the ratings... I am not alone in that.

Lanny | 6:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
I like Mr. Beck - he's right most of the time but we all should be listening to Michael Savage, now heres a guy who tells it like it really is.
Jack | 6:02 a.m. March 30, 2009
GOD bless Glenn Beck.
dtcorr | 6:02 a.m. March 30, 2009

veritasamo | 6:03 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is just speaking for the majority of Americans who are being stiffed by the Dems and Obama. They are trashing the rule of law AND the Constitution, and are actively working to pull a Hugo Chavez on us. Besides, they're shameless liars and manipulators, and it's so refreshing to hear the truth on Glenn's show.
Tennessee | 6:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Anyone who posits that Beck knows nothing about history, economics, government and science, has been taught out of New England text books all his life. And the same people that say "Give Obama a chance" are the same ones who never did give GWB a chance from day one. Giving Obama a "chance" to carry out his objectives is like trying to pet a rattlesnake with someone hovering over you saying, "Just give it a chance". I've lived all over and Beck is popular among a lot of people, most of them not Mormons,
Bubba Effect | 6:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn has become our voice in the wildreness. We really do surround them and can take back our once great country.
BeckFan | 6:04 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn is just a genuine guy who puts his heart and great energy into anything he does. He is also well-studied and tempers that with integrity. Too bad academia, government and all don't do that. Go Glenn! Hey, plus he is creative, funny and heart-touching.
BRUNO | 6:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
All you need to ask yourself: are you better off today than you were last year even?
Anonymous | 6:05 a.m. March 30, 2009
If there is one thing Beck is not it's a liar. He is a pleasure to listen to and he makes a lot of sense. Bill Maher is a hypocrit and one of the most hateful people I've ever heard and to have the likes of him comment is laughable. I'm sorry if anyone feels Utah doesn't want him - we'd take him in a minute! You go Glenn!!
TV News | 6:06 a.m. March 30, 2009
Beck is fantastic. Those who have not watched him are the first to criticize him. He mixes news, opinion and comedy for a great show. That is something Al Franken tried to do but was never successful (mostly because Franken isn't funny). As usual, the NYT paints anyone who isn't in the far left as the "disaffected" but in fact most of his viewers are the Americans who don't want to see the massive transfer of wealth that is occurring from future generations to today's greedy Americans. This is a view every American should take.
American against socialism | 6:06 a.m. March 30, 2009
I thank God that we have Glenn to speak for the people the believe Obama, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd and Reid are driving America into socialism. The only "revolution" will result at the polls in 2010 and 2012. God bless America. God bless Glenn.

There could not be a better definition for an Pres__ent Obama voter than that!!

Keep it up Glenn, all the nay sayers only want you silenced. Awwwww Yeaaaaaahhhhhh
Jack | 6:07 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn Beck is a breath of fresh air speaking up for the few sane productive freedom loving folks left in America!
Pat | 6:08 a.m. March 30, 2009
Anonymous You would let the plane crash into the mountain before you took action to save it? Look around you and see what is happening. Do your homework. We are about to crash. Ignorance surely must be bliss for you.
Clyde | 6:08 a.m. March 30, 2009
One great thing about America...If Rupert wants to waste his money paying this crackpot, fine with me. I have every right never to tune in and watch this crybaby.

Never have and never will.
Mr.Johnson | 6:08 a.m. March 30, 2009
Thank you Mr Beck for sticking up for what is right. It is so refreshing to hear someone who say what he means and means what he says!
WEM | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
When you don't like what Glenn says, then the typical response is character assasination. Those that disagree should counter with logic and facts from historical perspectives. Far left leaning individuals use character assasination (democratic cannabalism). Long live those that make us think instead of just trying to make us laugh at someone, like some of the clowns on MSNBC.
Yukon | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
Keep up the good work Glenn. You may be the only voice we have heading out on the airwaves. "We the People" don't seem to matter in Washington anymore.
DWPittelli | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
Right on zulu!

If only the Faux News commentators were as erudite as Maher, Olbermann and Maddow.
Craig in Ohio | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn speaks to those of us who are witnessing the destruction of Capitalism in the U.S. The Chicago thug in charge (or pResident in chief) is in the process of making the country into a third world nation. Those who cannot see this are either on the government dole or simply drinking the democrat Kool-Aid. I truly fear for the future generations.
Jake | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen Beck speaks the truth and does it in an entertaining way. Nothing wrong with that. In fact we need more of it. He says - "Remember, they don't surround us, we surround them". That fact will become more apparent as the leftist disaster that is the Obama administration continues to attack the traditions and heritage of our country. We WILL take America back.
Jake, New Hampshire
squirrel | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
a nut & a liar hu? Where do you get that? I think you can say many things about Glenn but liar is not one of them. Why not try listening to him & try to find something he says not true? Your the nut and you are the liar!
The Shadow | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
I caught Jon Stewart mocking him recently on the Duh-ly Show. That is a sign that Beck scares the left. They always take that angle when they are afraid. Try to make the opposition look crazy, dumb, or crazy and dumb. The good news is, Stewart only less viewers than Beck so his comedy styled subversive attacks are only viewed by a couple hundred thousand left-wing nuts.

The country needs a voice like Beck's. And the proof will be his continued rise in the ratings. When he was on CNN Headline News, I used to wonder...what the heck is this guy doing on an arm of the propoganda news station Al Jazeera West, A.K.A. CNN. Thank God he house found his home.

2010 is coming lefties. Congress will be radically changed. And Barney Frank won't be there to mess things up because he is too busy staring at Chris Dodd's "package". The good news for Frank? Dodd won't be there either so they can just hook up at a rest stop now and then somewhere along I-95.
oldbsmart | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
GB is wonderful. Followed him before and he must have scared the hell out of CNN/Headline News. Much better fit at FOX. Wake up folks.....alot of Americans DID NOT vote for OBAMA and our reasons for not doing so is because of what has happened in the first 60 days of office. At this rate, we will not have a country in 4 years. So all your fools out there who still believe in him, keep drinking the Koolaid but not me or many, many others in this country. We will never buy this BS...........
Joe Egler | 6:09 a.m. March 30, 2009
God Bless Glenn Beck! He is willing to speak the truth ! Who in washington speaks the truth anymore? We are on the road to Obama seizing power way beyond what the constitution allows. When did a president ever fire americans or speak out against Americans both businessmen and talk show hosts? Why is barry soweto afraid of truth and the freedom of speech? A government afraid of it's citizens is not a government but an illicit group seizing power for their own good not ours.
Bo-Who | 6:10 a.m. March 30, 2009
Obama is a fake a fraud and almost a broad. Rush just said Hillary is twice the man that Obama is. Glenn Beck calls Obama out... and the libs don't like it.
Mark | 6:10 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glen Beck is Paul Revere of our time. When America's freedoms are under attack, someone needs to alert the people.
ssmith | 6:10 a.m. March 30, 2009
Glenn tells it like it is--it is a little ironic that Bill Maher was worried about Pres. Obama, he all but ordered a hit on Pres Bush-Maher and the media told so many lies on Pres. Bush it was frightening!!
Disenfranchised | 6:10 a.m. March 30, 2009
He speaks what we are thinking and he gives us hope that we can get our country back if we simply remember that we own this place and not the government.

Remember - THEY WORK FOR US !
Anonymous | 6:10 a.m. March 30, 2009
Everyone has an ax to grind. Not one person, including me, is unbiased. Fortunatly time will tell where people like Glenn Beck stand. He (Beck)has been remarkably consistant over the years. Let's face it, there are a growing number of dissatified Americans whom have learned that Political promises and Election rhetoric are just that - rhetoric. I beleive Glenn gives a voice to those dissatisfied people.
