I can't help but be disappointed with a person that doesn't have problem lying or cheating.

I do admire people who value integrity more than money
Per the last paragraph | 12:55 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
So...it will be like every other season.

Yawn.

It's a good show, but they need to put it on ice for a couple years then bring it back. I take it for granted and don't watch it anymore.

Good Mormon boy minus his shirt.......maybe BYU needs to be revoking his degree as well

Lying and cheating | 1:12 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I don't think he said he doesn't have a problem with lying and cheating in general...I think he meant for the purposes of the game. I would feel the same way...for the game.
Judgy the Judger | 1:16 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Maybe you missed the line about how he is a BYU Drop out. He had his shirt on while he was at BYU. He only took it off when he left.
Anonymous | 1:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
The picture is a little "revealing". Especially for a returned missionary.

Wish some people would recognize that a guy can look hot in a nice business suit and not just with next to no clothes. Same said for girls. Cover some of that skin. You don't look hot - you look ready to give it up!

This world is not a competition to see who can bare the most - although in some people's minds - I believe that's what they are thinking. Too bad. People really don't enjoy used merchandise. Even if it just looks like its been used (or wants to be)

Good luck to him though - I guess!!
Survive the TreeZ | 1:29 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Yikes stripes!! I know where all the take-bake lotion went. Look out for the abominable lee-man that comes out of the water and nibbles on ankles while dreaming. Thialand has a lot of C-monstars too, maybe it's his destiny to get eatan by TResz Skultz...let the games begin rat-pack
Anonymous | 1:32 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I must have missed that line too - and I've read it a few times to make sure. Actually I don't see BYU mentioned at all.........
Judgy the Judger | 1:37 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Good point Mr/Mrs Anonymous. Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe this strapping lad had nothing to do with the picture and had to do what the producers wanted? Just something for thought.
Ed | 1:47 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Deadbeat
Judgy the Judger | 1:44 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Just get the full Bio on CBS.com
Anonymous | 1:48 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Maybe the producers did tell him to pose that way. Doesn't make it right and all it seems to do is make the minds of young women wander off in to places they shouldn't be wandering. Producers or not - it was HIS CHOICE! Anyone can walk away!

Judgy the Judger | 1:57 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
So, you're telling me you wouldn't have a picture taken of you with your shirt off, if a million dollars was on the line? There are plenty of other places for young women to find pictures of guys with there shirts off. Who's teaching them not to look for those pictures? Don't we all have free agency?
Needs to see a hot body | 2:19 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
all mormon girls should see that picture.
Anonymous | 2:18 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I might be a little old fashioned, but I don't even think you should swim with your shirt off.
Judgy the Judger | 2:40 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Well, he obviously wasn't protected at that time. Maybe he gets injured or dies out there...
Sue | 2:43 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Hey Anonymous, did you look at that picture? Worry about your own commitments and stop telling everyone else how it should be done!
Righteous | 2:44 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
His commitment is to awesomeness, i can tell that much!
Shocked | 2:51 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I wouldn't allow my daughters to watch the Olympics due to the "revealing" swimwear that Michael Phelps chose to wear, I certainly won't allow their minds to wander off where they are certainly wont to wander by watching young men such as this who choose to flaunt their bodies so gratuitously!
Cheif Judge | 2:49 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
So many are so quick to judge as if you all know the circumstances behind everything he is involved in. Maybe he doesn't have a recommend anymore! Either way, none of that is any of your concern. You are willing to call someone out for apparently not living their religion when that same religion tells you not to judge. We're is the love people. I say rock on Tyson! I hope you bring home the million!
eve | 2:50 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
maybe he wears the bottoms and his torso is the only part to get burned.
CTW | 3:06 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Nearly every comment here shows such an extreme lack of intelligence. It's embarrassing to all of us who claim to be Mormon. Sorry for those who meant their comments to be tongue in cheek--but when someone claims someone should never take their shirt off, they obviously went to a different temple that I did.
CTW | 3:13 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I'm going to give shocked the benefit of the doubt. She has to be joking!!!
@2:29 & 2:51 | 3:16 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Get a life! You all are sooo closed minded. Have you even experienced other cultures? It's not what people wear that makes them honor their "committments" it's how they act. To Shocked, where have you been? The swimsuits Phelps wears have been that way for 20 years, get out a little bit...anyhow,"see you sunday"
Anonymous | 3:16 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
This guy is about the most un-likeable person I've seen or heard in a long time.
Sunset Tanner | 3:16 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Sorry I'm just getting into this... but his bio on CBS says that "his favorite hobbies are exercising and sunbathing." This is telling me that his tan is natural... The comment by "Survive the TreeZ" would be an insult to any natural tanner, especially a tan as bronze as Tyson's.
johnny law burger | 3:28 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I'd like to know how he got those amazing pecs. They really compliment his stylish belt buckle and designer jeans.
eve | 3:28 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I'd like to bear my testimony that thou shall not judge.
Shocked | 3:31 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Just because others have followed the example of some pseudo-hero named Michael Phelps and worn revealing attire, it does not make it right.
Young men, especially those who know better, have a responsibility to keep all women, both young and old, from having their thoughts stray into the realms of lasciviousness.
Anonymous | 3:31 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Maybe I should clarify - It's not so much the shirt off that bothers me as it is the fact that his pants dangle on the verge of exposing him. And I don't think anyone could truly deny that.
Helen Waite | 3:35 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
i am so embarrassed that all my fellow Mormons are so Judgmental, are you Only Sunday Mormons???
We are taught not to Judge,"Judge Not and be not Judged" you are horrible examples of being Christ Like..... As for The Olympic Swim Suit comment< for those who want to watch the Olympics to see the Most talented Athelets in the world,we didnt notice any inapprorpiate swim wear, obviously you were looking for inappropriatness, this is so about you and not any one else.................
eve | 3:36 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I am shocked by shocked. You will most likely end up a grandparent at an early age due to a daughter of yours getting pregnant in her teens. You are not doing you or yours any favors by not embracing the sexiness (fruit) of life.
righteous | 3:38 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Too late, my minds a wanderin'!!!
eve | 3:39 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I am shocked that shocked cannot spell.
Rae | 3:40 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Covering One's body is a moral issue. There are girls who don't select clothing for modesty and there are boys who wear their pants too low, and have no modesty either. It really is a shame because lack of modesty is found on the news programs, television programs, sports, pagents, major award programs, etc. This affects all ages of society. When will someone be strong enough to say "enough is enough" and decline to follow designers low standards. Apparently this young man has lost his standards. I hope he gets his "strong moral values" back before he regrets his decision to sport poor choice in clothing.
Sue | 3:45 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Anonymous, I think you're the most unlikeable person!
Go drink a beer! Might chill you out!
johnny law burger | 3:48 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
don't be soooo closed minded shocked. This young man is not responsible for the mental debauchery of those young women enticed by his image. He represents a healthy well rounded individual, and you should aspire to be just like him. Don't resent him just because he has obtained all you once dreamed of through very little effort.
eve | 3:53 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Rae I think that if we all had the physique of this young man we would perhaps flaunt it a bit as well. I would think that the type of physical training that goes in to being pro cyclist would be intense. It shows that he has taken care of him self, unlike the 70% of morbidly obese Americans. You must also have a weight... I mean moral??? issue.
Shocked | 4:01 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
My daughters have certainly been taught to avoid such blatant sensuality and flagrant sexuality. While there are certainly those in the world who wish to lead young female minds astray, there will always be those of us who stand up for what is right--regardless of the ridicule or scorn we must face.
I, for one, would gladly stand toe to toe with this young man and teach him a lesson regarding the finer virtues of modesty. There is much in life to be embraced that keeps itself fully clothed.
Judgy the Judger | 4:00 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
I think the shirtless comments have gone on long enough. It is obvious that Tyson has strong moral values. You can see it in his chest.
@Shocked | 4:24 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Yikes! You remind me of the mean old sunday school teacher from simon birch! Ruler-Spanker!! If you want to prove yourself, vote Tree Skultz to the Jazz all-star team
Please | 4:48 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Save the "judge not" stuff!! That is just silly. We are required to make judgements all the time--if we did not we would be broke, destitute, and or dead in a short period of time.

If a criminal points a gun at you are you not going to need to make a judgement of some kind? If someone displays the propensity to steal are you going to ignore it and act like it is not happening?

Does the Stake President not use "judgement" to select leaders in other positions.

I could go on!!!
Louis Fontana | 5:20 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
This kid is 30 years old and his hobby is tanning??? Sounds like a month in the jungle will do him some good!
cam | 6:28 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
to anonymous. well if its for 1 million$ then im pretty sure everyone is going to do something like that, tyson just happens to be able to admit and be honest!!
Judge Mental | 7:21 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Religion aside, this guy's just a loser. I will lie and cheat. Watch me, love me, I am SO special... bah!
Ray | 6:55 a.m. Jan. 15, 2009
Good Luck Tyson! May you not get caught up in the petty ridiculous cult of personality that makes for such GREAT TEEVEE... ;) And please, wear a shirt most of the time, by the end of Survivor season, all the contestants look like nasty shriveled prunes, and you just hope they will hurry and eliminate each other. --Ray
Good luck dude! | 9:20 a.m. Jan. 15, 2009
Does the show allow him to get waxed during the time away in the wilderness?
Biggest Fan! | 10:15 a.m. Jan. 15, 2009
I would offer to do the waxing if I were out there!
Stenar | 10:32 a.m. Jan. 15, 2009
Some people are naturally hairless. Not everyone is a walking man-carpet like you.
Extreme heat | 11:08 a.m. Jan. 15, 2009
I just think it's funny that he considers the Philippines "Extreme heat." The temperature there ranges between 85 and 95 degrees year round! I think he's thinking of the humidity (60-90%)which intesifies it, but still! Hopefully it's not hotter where he's doing this show or he'll be dead!
