Are people missing the point here? Obama wants Geithner to be his treasury secretary. We're talking being in charge of the finances for the country, yet repeatedly he has shown that he can't even file his own taxes correctly. People can make excuses for him all day long, but the fact of the matter is that he is supposed to be a financial expert. To confirm him as treasury secretary when he can't even handle his own taxes (repeatedly I might add) would be like hiring a mechanic to work on your car who can't even keep his own car running. What are people thinking? It's not like this guy is being confirmed to an unrelated field.

Good thing he wasn't a republican or this "unintentional mistake", "little hiccup" would have most of the media and democrats calling for his head on a silver platter!! He fails to pay his income tax for 3 years and he is going to have this financial responsibility!?

Remember folks...the majority voted for Obama (I was in the minority)...now the Democrats get to run America for 4 to 8 years...wonder what it will be like?

I find it odd that republicans are posting so many negative comments about this guy when their very own beloved Senator Hatch supports him so much.

I am not surprised to find out another career politician has skeletons in his closet. They are all a bunch of crooks. Elected or appointed. Republican or democrat.

He didn't pay his takes. Either he didn't do it on purpose, which makes him dishonest. Or it was an "honest mistake" which makes him incompetent. In either case we do not want him running the Treasury Dept. So, Senator Hatch: He is NOT a "very, very competent guy" and if you continue to support him you are showing that you are not a friend to the people of Utah or the country. It is too bad we do not have a Senator with a spine who will stand up to the new liberal President when he makes bad appointments like this. I hate to think what will happen when Senator Hatch has to vote on a super liberal Supreme Court nominee.
