Why isn't Shurtleff investigating this theft! Oil futures have gone down, even though OPEC has cut inventory and the Israel conflict. This is proof that their is and has been collusion in the State of Utah with gasoline suppliers. It is simply not possible for any other explanation! Since Shurtleff is investing the Sherman Anti Trust Laws, he should apply them here. Let's boycott Maverick until prices drop down to the levels they were at Christmas.

It is purely greed and another reason to shutdown future markets. The time is now to return to the 'supply and demand' vice speculation.

I know the price of light sweet crude has been fluctuating over the past month. I tried to find out what it is today, but couldn't. Does anyone know? And what was the price of gasoline the last time the price of a barrel of oil was around $40. Is it less or more?

By the way, don't complain too much: Norway's price is around $9-$12 a gallon, and their country produces a lot of oil. Kind of puts things in perspective. And all the complaining just provides further evidence that we need to come up with an alternative. China is about to start selling an electric car in the US, probably within the next two years. Hopefully the US automakers are keeping up.

Keep It Up | 8:39 a.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Way too go buyers. Just continue your great and good frugal ways concerning gas purchases, and these greedy theives will have no other choice but to market their fuels for less. If they don't then they can start drinking it themselves. Bring on alternative fuels and consumer responsibility. I love it.

Greed? | 10:51 a.m. Jan. 14, 2009
You people screaming about greed are the problem!
What do you want free gas?
Your probably the same morons that cheer when we're not allowed to drill for more oil and gas. To build more nuclear facilities. Use clean coal.

Clueless dolts, otherwise known as "enviormentalist" are directly responible for Americas energy high cost and instability. And yes it will soon be Obama's fault, Obama will do nothing about the high cost of energy.

Liberals love it when America suffers.

Hooray!!! I am so happy to learn that little dictators such as Chavez will not longer posses oil dollars to purchase America's hatred throughout the world. With an inflation of over 32% Venezuelan's should demand that oil dollars be used to improve their economy and thus their standard of living. Blaming America for the malaises that Chavez is imposing on Venezuela is an excuse used and abused by Chavez. Also, Americans can greatly contribute to stop this self-made 'caudillo' by conserving energy as much as it is humanly possible! Lets be responsible in our driving. Lets not allow our money to support regimes whose main object is the destroy the United States.

Alternative fuels | 11:16 a.m. Jan. 14, 2009
All you numbskulls screaming for alternative fuels ever stop for one second to consider why we don't have any?
The idea of aternatives have been around for decades. Go ahead, take a minute and think about it.

It's real simple. At of right now there is no profit to be made in alternative fuels. There is no reliable alternative to the combustion engine. Yes, car companies are making huge advancements in their industry but there is simply no mass alternative to gas and oil powering your vehicle.

It amazes me that people that use gas in their cars to got to work, a movie, the hospital, pick up your kids, visit a friend or whatever it is, are referred to as greedy. And the oil companies that provide the life blood of our economy are also called greedy.

"Bring on the alternaitive fuels"? OK. It's so easy, let's see you do it! Let's see you create it and be able to pay your employees with benefits and stll be held to the same standards as any other energy producer.

Obama has fed this kind of corruption.....with futures falling only in Utah do we see an upswing in prices even when Utah Oil Petroleum President Lee _______ made the statement just yesterday that gas prices will be unaffected in Utah by the refinery fire!

Along Foothill Blvd. the collective of gas stations have all increased gas prices significantly that all residents should boycott forever and drive west down to 300 West to save as mush as $30 per tank~!
