BR is great, just like the UofU Football team. We have beat everyone that we played.

We should be #1 in state! Utes finished #2 but should have been #1.

What have we got to do? We beat everyone we played. I think we could be the Jazz.

Bear River beat Hunter and won their first region game by 25 over Ben Lomond and still moved from ninth to tenth. What in the world is that all about?
Watch them hammer both Morgan and Ogden this week.

If there is such a thing as a Salt Lake bias, these rankings prove it. Bear River is in Tremonton and many in Utah have no clue where that is.

Is Bear River arrogant enough to think they could beat Provo, (who is also unbeaten after playing much better competition than BR) Lone Peak or any of the other top 5 on the list?

All I have to say is keep dreaming and be glad that those teams would never stoop so low to play your team. They would crush you.

Relax....it is just some people's opinions....So Davis is ranked higher than you think they should be....life goes one....they'll move down if they are worse and your team will move up if they are better, it won't keep your team out of having a shot at state....just relax a little dude!

Bear river is good don't get me wrong, and I am sure all the sports writers in SLC know where Tremonton is....riverside, thatcher, dewyville, fielding maybe not, but Tremonton yes!

Since you asked.....Davis lost to Jordan, Alta, and West Jordan and they beat Logan, Bingham (on the road), Murray, Centenial (a Las Vegas team), and Layton....

I think Riverton will keep doing well if they have a balanced game and get everyone involved, but if they try to just run the game through their guards, they will struggle. hopefully they play tough against bingham.

Jordan knocks off highly touted West Jordan, and stays at #15 in the rankings?

How on earth is Davis ranked so high? They have one quality win to their resume, and Jordan beat them head to head on their home floor! Jordan owns wins over #5 Davis, #7 West Jordan, and #17 Pleasant Grove, not to mention a better record playing a MUCH tougher schedule. Two of their three losses at the buzzer (one to #11 ranked Lehi), and their other loss was at #6 ranked Bingham in a game that was tied in the 4th quarter.

DNews has a love affair with the 2007-2008 Davis Darts, that for some reason is carrying over this year. Makes no sense...

That Las Vegas team (Centennial) is 9-9 this season, I just looked it up on MaxPreps. Get Davis out of the rankings, they are 1-3 against other more deserving teams. Other than Bingham, they have beaten up on teams that stink!

rankings here have NOTHNG to do with whether or not your team gets to the state tournament or how you get seeded.
the actual TEAMs will prove on the COURT how good they are and all the delusional fans' screaming and postulating make NO more difference than if you had never even noticed this article!
Utah has a lot of good teams and players so lets stop showing our IQ is less than a cow patty by claiming YOUR team can beat the JAZZ, UofU or even the top teams in the state based on preseason match ups OK?

I live in Vegas and Centennial is a cellar-dweller. They have no game. There 9 wins are against some really bad teams. Silverado is good.

This was an incredible game! Jordan pulled out a win in a great comeback, and they deserve to be ranked higher. However, WJ WAS killing the Beetdiggers and they lost on two free throws.

I cant wait to play Orem to see how strong they really are.

So maybe if some of the people that have posted on this would pay as much attetion to their school work, job, family life any of those things that matter maybe just maybe you would be a little happier. When it's all said and done and the state champions are crowned does it really matter where you are ranked in the first week of region play. It's not like anybody is going to beat Lone Peak for 5A or Provo for 4A or Bear River for 3A anyway so does it matter if your ranked 15 or Davis is ranked high your team isnt going to win state anyway so does it really matter. Oh BTW coach Louie Wong of Timpview how is the recruting year going for football next year we would apperciate some comments on how it looks?????

Everyone knows where Tremonton is...geez! BR will get thier chance in the coming years to play 4A talent. They are only 70 or so kids away from 4A. Everyone knows where Provo is. They are so awesome and holy, just ask them!

Dude...I said nothing of Centennial being a good team, I just told you were they are from.....just giving you the info you asked for....let the Dnews rank them how they feel....go check out MaxPreps high school rankings for the state if you don't like the Dnew's....it is just opinions.....

And as for you BoBaMa.....Bear River still has a tough road to hoe ahead of them....They already have bullseyes on their chest....why are you giving the rest of 3A so much ammo?

WOW. We get it, you guys have a nice team and likely will win 3A, but don't think for a second you could compete with the 5A and 4A powerhouses. It is not like UTAH/MWC v SEC, it is like JuCo v D1A.

Hasn't Wayne baseball been unbeaten for several years? I guess they were better that Jordan, LP, Bingham or Timpanogos since those teams all lost at some point during the year and Wayne was unbeaten.

Wayne is the number 1 program in the state if you are doing a fair comparision of all the teams. Playing teams of equal size, they dominate their classification as a 1A school. To me, that makes them the best program, with the best coach in the State.

I think the people making the "BR is better than everyone" comments on these boards are not real BR fans. We are not like that nor are the kids on the team. We do have a great team, but we are not arrogant about it. #10 in the state is a better ranking than any team we have ever had.

Bear River would definitely compete with even the best of the 4A/5A schools. Beat them? Not the majority of the time, but they'd definitely compete.

And as someone who follows Wayne baseball very closely, they wouldn't be able to compete very well with the programs you mentioned. I don't know if that's a great analogy though. Look at Judge baseball. They're a 3A school, as is Bear River, and they could have beaten about any Utah team on a given day last year. Don't be too quick to discredit the 3A schools. They have the size and most combine that with cohesiveness to put them in a spot to play with some very good big school teams.

I agree with BR. I think that too many people that are intimatly connected to BR make posts here. I am BR all the way, but I think we should let them play the season before we crown anyone as the champ.I have watched many of our games and have seen some weaknesses. ie. freethrow shooting as a team. I think we should be happy with a top ten ranking. After all we are just plain ole country folk.

You should be happy to be ranked #10. You are the dominant 3A team.

VS 4A= Basically the ranking only has Provo and Orem ranked higer (4A is a 2 team race anyway. MC is the only other 4A team better than BR.

VS 5A= 7 teams ranked higher. Unbeaten Skyline, 1 loss (in state) Bingham, LP and Riverton and maybe the best in the state WJ. Then 3 loss Davis and Alta. You may have an point to be #8. Lehi, Jordan, and PG would argue they are better. Being ranked between 8-15 is about right.

The Darts don't need to be ranked, they will gladly go under the radar and make noise at state. They are starting to find their groove, and now they will glide through region 1 and do well at state.

The Darts better be prepared for the State tournament. No matter what seed they get, they will have a very tough first round match up. Region 1 is matched up with Region 3 this year, which will send 4 very good teams. So far this year, they havent been able to stack up to the competition like they will need to in order to make some noise at the tournament. 1-3?? Thats not going to cut it.

Skyline is legit man they manhandled #6 Bingham most the game tonight they were up by like 15 for 3 quarters Bingham did have a nice comeback but not to mention skyline had 2 starters out.... with quality wins over Top 20 teams like West Jordan on the road (by 16) Olympus on the road bingham on the road and Mt. Crest and Highland the Eagles are legit and their the best team in 5A. Hands down. DNews start showing the eagles some love. Kevin Wagstaff OWNED Mason Sawyer in the WJ game and sawyer is the best PG in the state? He held him to 2 points and Osterloh is averaging like 20 a game and is a lockdown defender the eagles are L E G I T.

I'm not going to lie, Skyline is very legit. Don't know why you would brag about beating Highland though. Region 6 is terrible. Except for Olympus. And occasionally West.

I had the opportunity to watch Skyline and Bingham last night and Skyline was rock solid. Besides the brain fart where they allowed three baskets in row to start the fourth, they didn't give Bingham a chance. The miners like to fluster teams with their bag of zone defenses but the eagles didn't fall victim and were poised the whole game. Ryan Osterloh is the axle that team works around and I was really impressed with him. He was poised and made sound decisions and at times just toyed with Clifford and Bingham. Might be time to start working on the man-to-man going into region Bingham because skyline showed the rest of the state how to dismantle not one, or two but three zone defenses. Osterloh is a stud and plays the game right!

Honestly Jordan, you know that if you played Davis tomorrow you would be scared because you know that they have found there groove, Davis played horrible against you, i think we all know the darts would come out victorious against the beatdiggers, and i dont mean by just a few points i'm talking about double digits beatdiggers, since we dominated bingham and they dominated you i think that proves the point.

west jordan has had some set backs and i think it is a good thing......the point isnt going undefeated during the whole year, its getting your team to peak at the right time. west jordan will peak near tournament time and take the title!!

You have got to be kidding me. Yes, as stated earlier Wayne is one of the largest in 1A, if not the largest. They are by no means "DOMINATING 1A". Last I checked a 6 and 4 record is not dominating. Shoot, they were beat on the 9th by like 26 on there home court. If you look at the box scores for the 9th they are the only on in the whole state not posted. Guess there to busy still pout'n. Just wondering why you are even looking @ Top 20. you will never see your school listed there.
