Judge allows money manager Madoff to remain free

The greed and corruption that is manipulating our entire economy needs to be overseen and regulated. The American people have been too trusting with government officials to protect us when it comes to these issues. They have failed miserably. I'm not afraid of the petty street criminal, I'm worried about the suit that can take half of my retirement illegally and get away with it because he financed a campaign and has a powerful lobby.

America must change the punishment meted out to a "person" who bilks people out of millions or billions of dollars. He and others like him who pull these mass swindles deserve the death penalty!

He has sentenced thousands of investors to having to resume working instead of living their retirement as they had planned. There are likely to be , among those thus sentenced back to work, many who will die earlier for the hardship he has put on them.

Plain and simple, HE IS AN ECONOMIC TERRORIST!

Execute HIM!!!!

And, New York should dump this ignorant judge, too.

If it was me or you; we would be sitting in jail. Looks like its about time to get rid of this judge!!!!

Execution is a little harsh, after all, this is only money we are talking about here.

I used to think they should go after not only his assets but the assets of his family and every other person who he "blessed" from the money that he stole, but then I remembered...

It seems to me that the most fitting punnishment for crimes such as these would be to strip the person committing the crime of every possesion they have and then put them to work, make them work for nothing until they pay off their debts or die.

I guess thats true of every criminal though.

What would we expect after the ENRON mess, these people have enough friends in high places that they don't have to pay for the crime like the little man does. AMERICA is lost for sure

It seems to me with the shinanigans Madoff continues to pull, he should be in jail. The judge is more concerned about this becoming a public lynching. Perhaps he's justified, but overly protective.

As for more government regulation to protect us, I'm sorry, but how much more of Big Brother are you really willing to tolerate? Not at all for me.

What's wrong with all of us coming to a conclusion that we will be honest in our dealings with ourselves, and our fellow man. What's wrong with developing a conscience of what is good and bad, and always trying to do good? Why, after all this financial slaughter, must we continue to read about arrogant crooks STILL getting financially fat, while millions of Americans lose their homes, retirement, jobs and more.

Isn't it time WE personally took personal inventory about who we are, our consience, and just do what we know is good for ourselves and for others? I think that would solve an awful lot of problems.

The terrorist wanted to show us they could ruin our financial systems by attacking our trade centers.

The judge is simply enforcing the law as it exists. The crime allows bail. Maddof will eventually go to prison for the rest of his life. Innocent untill proven guilty. Would you really want it any other way?
