Wise people would see a lesson in this failure presidency, a decline in America's imagine and fiscal catastrophe has a example of what listening to conservative talk radio and Fox News gives birth to. If you went to a doctor, only to get sick, you would find another doctor.

Thanks to conservatives, America has economically declined. Our military is being worn out and this is the first time in America's history Americans will see a drop in their standard of living.

Um...The Bush loving people would have voted Sara the hunter into office without a problem. What does that tell you?
The neo cons love stupid. We have had dumb in the office, now its time for some brain power.
@spin doctors | 9:36 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
hmmm, lets see, who made the term 'spin' part of our lexicon? That would be the lieing democrats. Remember the pole driven clinton admin. SPIN, SPIN, SPIN... look for more of the same. Another pole driven spin doctor.

Um, yeah, your right.
Um, you sure, um, got that, brain power thing going for you and your party. Um.
To Donovan | 10:18 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I'll take Sarah the hunter anyday.
Instead we got Obama the clueless wimp.
Too the harsh judges.. | 10:26 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Too those people who insist on being so harsh when judging others (including President Bush). If you think about it, the past 8 years could have been much worse. After 9/11 we were told that follow-up attacks against the US were a 100% probability. I think we all agreed. But we reacted (instead of just cowering and retreating) and there was no follow-up attack.

We KNOW that Al-Qaeda still WANTS to attack us. They are just not able to or they are preocupied elsewhere. If we had left them alone in Afganistan to expand their traning camps and to work on planning their next attack I am pretty sure something would have eventually happened.

If 9/11 type attacks had continued after 9/11 and President Bush did nothing about it... I can assure you, things would have been even WORSE than they have been.

This economic crisis has been comming for a long time (it didn't just start in President Bush's Administriation). Personally I don't think the Bush-Administration handled this problem well, but that doesn't mean they were the soul cause of it, or that it wouldn't have happened regardless of how he reacted.

Don't be so harsh and judgemental.
Re Donovan | 10:32 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Bush may not be the best speaker in the world, but he's certainly not stupid. Look at his graduation ranking from Yale, and call him stupid.
Re: Obama and Gitmo | 10:32 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I assure you if GITMO is shut down and the "detainees" (all of whom are known to be innocent as the wind driven snow) will all be offered freedom in the U.S.

One step further, doubtless a guilt driven Congress will offer each former detainee a minimum $1 million in reparations, tax free because they were "out of country" when detained. Some of the most liberal Congressmen and Congresswomen will even offer detainees 52 virgins!

I too have a couple of recommendations for detainee placement: Pelosi and Reid need office aids in Congress. The ACLU needs knowledgeable consultants in their defense of future enemy "combatants". Barney Frank and Chris Dodd surely to God need help! Both the CIA and FBI need effective oversight. Also Hollywood can use former detainee "seconds" to help with staging anti-Bush terrorist-hero movies for years to come.

Good luck to us all!
Bob | 10:57 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
History will vindicate Bush. It will be centuries from now and we will all be dead but he WILL BE VINDICATED and none of you liberal bush haters can prove otherwise.
Lute | 10:55 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
OK, spin doctors 9:36 doesn't like Obama, and is sure of what happens next. That's an ability we could have used early in 2003. But the phrase is "poll-driven", having no connection to anything made of wood.
re: Too the Harsh Judges | 11:04 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I don't/didn't see anybody arguing against going into Afghanistan to get Bin Laden. (and the Taliban offered us Bin Laden). The problem is, we turned our attention/manpower/money from Afghanistan to invade Iraq.

Bush justified his tax cuts because we had a budget surplus. Apparently he now claims the economy was in a recession when he took office.

Terrorism experts state that the war in Iraq exacerbated the problem of terrorism. It has resulted in the spread of Al Qaeda inspired, supported groups across the world. I don't see how that equates to making the U.S. safer.
Farewell Dubya | 11:06 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
A poll of US historians reveals 61 per cent believe Dubya the worst president in the history of America.
Farewell to the global strategist who declared that Japan and America "have had a peaceful alliance for 150 years" something of a revelation to those of Pearl Harbour or Hiroshima.
"I know it's a budget It's got a lot of numbers in it" so perhaps to accuse him of a financial disaster is to overlook his grasp of the economy; he hit the nail on the head with"more and more of our imports come from overseas". His tax cuts were soundly based"a tax cut is one of the anecdotes to coming out of an economic illness"
His defenders will point out there have been no terrorist attacks since 9/11 and he gave more aid to Africa but world opinion believe his catastrophic war in Iraq and his permitting banks to get out of control have lead to the collapse of America and capitalism.
Perhaps Katrina should not be mentioned; but rather think of the educator "rarely is the question asked:is our children learning? One of the great things about books is that sometimes there are fantastic pictures"
A truly memorable president!
Good By, or Good Luck | 11:46 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Mr Bush has come to his end, Many are glade to see this strong little man go by~by. A stubborn, meat~headed cowboy that he is, who threaten the bulk of the Muslims Terrorist world that if they even thought about causing harm to Americans he would squash them like a bug. And you know what? they believed him. very few are grateful for the good that this man has done for the American family in terms of our safety here at home. History will prove itself that Mr Bush kept us from harms way and it was all taken for granted. Be prepared for some real Anti American payback, and it won't be sawing off one head at a time with a 7 inch knife.
bluegrouse | 11:54 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Bush has certainly made mistakes and blunders throughout his presidency, no question. But he may be the US president that has saved the largest number of human lives in history through his AIDS program in Africa. He very well may have singlehandedly saved MILLIONS of lives with his decision to greatly increase this effort over his predecessors and he did it without pressure from the left and without support from the right. For this, I give him very high kudos.
Fred | 11:53 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Bush and Cheney are corporate gangsters. They piloted government domestic and foreign policy for the benefit of corporations. They killed more americans than the 9/11 terrorists in bogus war in Iraq in order to rape the treasury for Halliburton, and drive the citizens of the USA into paying massive interest payments to the wealthy for the now astronomical national debt, emasculated regulatory agencies for corporate gain, making a mockery of OSHA, the FDA and the EPA to the point that citizens have had to sue those agencies to do their job. The similar 'free market' lack of regulatory oversight allowed the sub prime mortgage meltdown with junk loans being packaged as investment vehicles sold on to the unwitting, and the credit crisis with lack of oversight of credit card lending practices. Imagine if Georgie Porgie had managed to put social security privatized into the hands of wall st. - it would have been catastrophic for millions now to old or sick to work. Thank a deity for that! -or the democrats that stopped him. Bush and Cheney are the face of evil. They will now retire to their illgotten gains while we pay for their extra protection from an angry public.
Future | 11:59 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Thank your President Bush for standing up for what you really believed in! I will admit that I did not agree with a great portion of it. But for the first time in a long time we had a President who stood by what he said despite naysayers! Lets hope Obama will do that also.
Too 11:04 a.m | 12:00 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I didn't say the recesion started before 2002. I said the lending rules and conditions that eventually lead to the recent economic downturn were already in place. We already had the policy of making loans to people that couldn't afford them and hoped they would find a way to pay off the loans if property values continued to go up.

I was mainly pointing out that we haven't been attacked since 9/11. And at the time the probability of a follow-up attack was 100%.

You can debate Bush's tactics but you CAN'T debate the results. We haven't been attacked. That's a fact!

Whatever he did... it worked. You can debate where he should have drawn the line or if it should have worked or if something else would have worked better or if what he did will have long term bad results... but you can't say "it didn't work" because obviously it did. The follow-up attack we HAD TO PREVENT was prevented. That's a significant success.

I just hope Obama can be as successfull in preventing that follow-up attack from eventually happening. That's all I ask of my President. Protect us from outsiders who want to do us harm.
No Defense for Bush | 12:17 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I'm sorry but there is no defense for the Iraq war and the president ought to be humble enough to admit it. The war was a mistake, just like Vietnam was a mistake and history will judge Bush poorly just like it has judged LBJ poorly over Vietnam. Bush jumped the gun on Iraq and had no exit plan. He totally underestimated the insurgent fight and stumbled in to a nasty bottomless swamp. The whole reason for war was the non-existent WMD's. Like JFK, Bush should have obtained proof of the weapons BEFORE going to war but he chose not to do that and that was his biggest mistake. He only had sketchy intel on the WMD's and he simply jumped the gun - something a president should never , ever do. Too much at stake for such a knee - jerk reaction. As for the economy, I can only say that somebody was asleep at the wheel and Bush is the guy at the top who should have been watching for icebergs ahead...but he simply didn't pay proper attention. The president is responsible to be a watchman and Bush was asleep at the wheel.
To Too 1104 | 12:16 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
But we WERE attacked on his watch. GW Bush was president of the US on September 11, 2001--nobody else!
Blame ourselves | 12:55 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I think it says something about Americans (in general) when the WORST PRESIDENT IN OUR HISTORY was given TWO terms! At best, he's the world's most powerful moron (that's if we're giving him the benefit of the doubt) and at worst, he's one of the most corrupt dictators ever to get away with such a blatant abuse of power. And we can blame ourselves for that. I'm glad America wised up this year and voted in the best option available. Now I hope Obama sticks with his promises and doesn't cave to the world bankers.
Who to blame | 1:02 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Please, president Bush isn't the only one to blame for the economy. Our Government is the greatest example of a spend freak you can have. How many trillions of dollars in debt is this country now? I lose track because I vomit in my shoes every time I hear it. To compact the matter the American people don't know how to spend either. We rack up credit card debt, buy homes and cars we cannot afford, etc etc. This country is in big trouble. It's too bad we have a whole bunch of ignorant fools running this country. I don't even know who is dumber, Democrats or Republicans? A major paradigm shift needs to happen if we are going fix the economy.
Reality check for Liberals | 1:20 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Obama declared in all debates that he would fund national health care by taxing the rich- Obama, "I have not made yet a determination on the roll back of the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans." He has no revenues to fund his spending programs. One by one Obama is backing off his campaign promises as his radical agenda runs into the buzz saw of reality. Obama, "we're going to have to prioritize as conditions change." The education of Barack Obama.

Forget GWB, he did what he had to, so will Obama to salvage his political life. Jimmy Carter was the worst President and ex-President this country has yet seen. The failure of the mortgage industry started with him!

REF: LARRY H.
You are the one doing the emotional spouting and oh how you rationalize!!!
Like so many others you blame reporting of the worst president of our decade on the left leaning media but of course the right leaning media is pristine and that is what you follow.
Maybe you should try for a bit of a balance.
The media cops the blame for everything, maybe they are right on and we don't want to believe them if they don't put out what we want to see, read or hear.
I have nothing to do with the media, I just think they are getting bad mouthed by people that want everything their way.
4 all U Republican's in here | 5:27 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
President W. Bush is one "GREAT MAN" and a dang good President as well folks. Don't bash him then. It's bad enough that "conservatives" have already been splintering off into 20 different "3rd" parties already, now you want ANOTHER one. Do you have any idea how much the Obamanation loves the way we just keep on Balkanizing ourselves?

Conservative Republicans like Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal and Marc Sanford and Michele Bachmann WILL NOT abandon the GOP. They will stay and fight for the conservative identity of their party, because they know that otherwise they cannot WIN by dividing themselves. Why don't you help them in their fight, instead of encouraging every body on this message-board to divide & conquer ourselves even further?

You probably get mail from the same conservative-PAC's that I do -- "House Conservatives Fund", "Senate Conservatives Fund", "National Conservative Campaign Fund"...These PAC's target their donations at CONSERVATIVE Repubs, the ONLY "electable" kind of conservative. If you don't want to give to the RNC, then at least help out these PAC's, as well as donating directly to the conservative incumbents I mentioned.

We already handed this past election to Obama by dividing ourselves.

"All I want to say is that I'm grateful that President Bush has been with us as our leader..Call me a staunch, ignorant, Utah Republican if you'd like, but I support President Bush and his actions whole heartedly."

We'll if the shoe fits wear it, you are as ignorant has the Bush Admin. Please tell me which actions do you support:

1. Taking the eye of the real war on terror in Iraq
2. WMDs in Iraq
3. Falling a sleep at the wheel during 2 recessions
4. Hurricane Katerina
5. Trying to tie Al Qaeda to Iraq
6. Ignoring the Geneva Conventions and okaying the use of torture
7. Gitmo were hundreds jailed without due process
8. Deterioration of civil liberties w/Patriot Act
9. Refusing to deal w/the Pal/Israeli issue years
10. Our moral standing in the World has been tarnished

Okay, I am sure you can make excuses for everyone of the facts above, just like Bush did today.

How about this, our we better off then we were 8 years agao?

I think 90% of American would probably say NO!!
DAM | 7:37 a.m. Jan. 14, 2009
As Bush leaves office, and the terrorist slowly emerge from their holes to begin training for the next attack, as they did under Clinton's watch they will have a peaceful 8 years to regroup as we try to make nice with them. They don't want land or gold or to be talked to...........they simply want to kill Americans and anyone who is not of their religion. How do you fight this? We can hope they retire and go away as Clinton and the rest of the "hollywood lefts" do! Maybe this low approval congress will keep us safe. The people on those airplanes and in those buildings before they were turned into ash, probably never dreamed that someone in charge would let something this horrific go unchecked. They started planning this attack while we were being nice to them, long before Jan 20, 2000, before Bush. Were is the outrage? Now look who is in charge,......... a corupt filled left joke!!! After history repeats, those of you that voted for these idiots should not have the right to vote.....ever again.
The terrorists will..... | 11:56 a.m. Jan. 14, 2009
emerge from their "holes" again because they know we have a weak President again, just like with Bubba.
9/11 | 11:43 a.m. Jan. 16, 2009
Let me get this straight. Clinton was president for 8 years, had bin Laden's head offered to him on a plate 3 times, did absolultely nothing after the first Twin Towers bombing in 1993, and 9/11 is Bush's fault? Oh yeah, and let's not forget the liberal's distaste for racial profiling. We've got grandma and grandpa at the airport with their shoes off getting searched top to bottom, but we let a bunch of Arabs on our planes without so much as a question - wouldn't want to offend anyone!

Admittedly, GWB was not a success. But Clinton was an outright failure.
Mccleod | 1:27 p.m. Jan. 16, 2009
I love how the same people who call President Bush one of the worst calculating criminals of the century are also calling him a moron. It can't be both, people.
I'll tell you who the morons are. People who get their opinions from the likes of Al Franken and Robert Redford. Those guys are really brilliant.
It's trendy with these people to hate their own country.
Do you really believe the fantasy that a very small amount of Bush lovers actually got him elected for 2 terms? A massive government cover up?
What you really want to believe is that the majority of the US is stupid and somehow you're the super intelligent elite.
You and the majority of Hollywood on the E! channel
are not living in the real world.
How can you not agree the best way to keep us safe is to help other countries have what we have? That will take care of everything. It will control the borders, it will increase our relations with Arabs, stop illegal drug trafficking...
The only thing wrong with Bush is that he was a terrrible communicator.

Quoting the post above (Ignorance is Bliss)

1. Taking the eye of the real war on terror in Iraq
What did you want to do with Saddam? Keep pattycaking with him?

2. WMDs in Iraq
Kennedy, Hillary, Kerry - they all read the same reports and came to the same conclusion

3. Falling a sleep at the wheel during 2 recessions
See Frank & Dodd on this one.

4. Hurricane Katerina
And the Democratic governor and mayor had no responsibility, right?

5. Trying to tie Al Qaeda to Iraq
How many AQ leaders have we killed in Iraq? I've lost count. This war is against all radical Islam, wherever they exist. They must be eliminated.

6. Ignoring the Geneva Conventions and okaying the use of torture
See pattycaking

7. Gitmo were hundreds jailed without due process
We're talking about war, not the kangaroo court system that freed OJ

8. Deterioration of civil liberties w/Patriot Act
Other than the right to plot to kill your neighbor, what liberties?

9. Refusing to deal w/the Pal/Israeli issue years
He did deal w/it. We picked Israel

10. Our moral standing in the World has been tarnished
You're kidding. "The World"? Evil thugs and parasites?
It's only just begun | 10:13 a.m. Jan. 17, 2009
When I was growing up, Jimmy Carter was our president. He was a pleasant man who was clearly in over his head, but he did his best. Democrats were nice folks, solid, hard-working.

Reagan trounced Carter and it seemed the Democratic party had accepted their loss and tried to re-group. But instead of making any concrete changes, they decided to start mudslinging and name calling. They appealed to the emotional, not the intellectual side of the issues. Can't say I blame them, it's good marketing.

The criticism of GWB from the left and their media friends has been mean and relentless. Everything from the weather to bad hair days has been blamed on Bush.

And now the Democrats want a honeymoon? They want America to fall behind their leader? I wouldn't count on it. What's been said has been said. We Republicans have endured the non-stop insults for 8 years. The Democrats can do no wrong, we can do no right.

The Democrats aren't even good winners. They are smug and taunting.

Prepare for an onslaught of criticism, resistance and even defiance for Mr. Obama and the pathetic Pelosi, Reid, etc.

Elephants never forget!
10 Best Things About Bush | 10:38 a.m. Jan. 17, 2009
10. His Treasury Secretary paid income taxes

9. Was not replaced in the Senate by the highest bidder on eBay

8. His wife was proud to be an American even before he was president

7. Middle name was not the same as an evil dictator

6. Received no votes from Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse through the ACORN program

5. Spared us another debate on the meaning of "is"

4. Didn't give a rip what Alec Baldwin thinks

3. Refused to take credit for inventing the internet

2. Did not attempt to contact Eleanor Roosevelt or any other dead person through a medium

And the #1 thing...

He's way more agile than some wimpy shoe-throwing middle easterner would ever have guessed!

Oh, yeah, and he made sure we'd never have to hear Saddam Hussein say "the mother of all (fill in the blank)" again.

What do you think? Should I send this to Letterman?

With all the money the Bushs have and with their political influence they will succeed in re-writing history to make things look good for them and they will work to get another Bush in office to help smooth things over. The rich and powerful beautiful people write history, the regular people just live it. And if one dosen't believe it wait until the Bush prestential library is completed in Texas and then go and visit it to see for yourself what a great and wonderful leader he was.
