TAXATION
When anyone else does it. It's called:
THEFT
We already pay taxes on all foods and labor. Our neigbors to the south, Nevada, don't pay tax on labor or food, at the stores. At about the same rate. Now, you what to drive our costs up even more. An example is Real Estate, the some what normal commission on the sale of a home is about 6%. You want to effectively raise to 7%. We don't get a very good "bang for our buck" as it is, and you want to make it worse.
Sounds like it's time for another Boston Tea Party.
Please dont add taxes to services. It will kill an already dying economy. I know and have had several frinds who work for the state. They have all said there is still a lot of waist in the budget and too many state employees in many (not all) departments. There should be no new taxes or tax increases until every state run department is running at peak efficiency. You know that we have not achieved that yet. Please concentrate on that.
The taxing of professional legal, accountant, and real estate services is also a way to compound our economic problems. Professional service tax on the consumer could be devastating. The cost of professional services are already at an all time high. It just doesn't make any sense.
We have worked very hard all of our lives and now stand to loose everything if this economy dosn't get fixed.
Taxing services is a concept that hurts the economy further. While sales tax on food is a painless way to raise revenue, why would we want to make getting valued services more painful? In these times when we seek the service of a professional like an attorney or even a realtormore often than not, we are already in some kind of financial distress.
Why would we add to that distress? Does anyone really think that those providing service wont pass the taxes on to the end-user? Additional costs may cause citizens to not seek professional help. Why would we discourage people from seeking professional help?
Whoever thinks that those seeking professional help have deep pockets needs to pay more attention!
Keeping a stable base, having at least something we can count on, would be helpful!
Why dont we cut the pay of our government employees and our elected officials instead? Dont tax services!
Whatever happened to conservative principles?
