They often don't release names of those under 18 if there is the possibility of a crime being committed.

Whatever happened, 17 is too young to die.

Nobody will ever understand our loss unless you have experienced it for yourself. Please don't be ignorant when you leave your comments there are alot of people's feelings at stake. Honestly your negative comments really are not important or need to be heard. If you can not sympathize then don't bother opening your mouth. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed, remember that all you hear are STORIES...and stories are meant to be untrue. Don't take what you hear and run with it. Some things are best left unsaid.

My eldest daughter graduated from Granger last school year and for all I know she could know this young man. And to Trinny this is no laughing matter. So sorry for the loss of this young man. I guess that's why I always thought it's not a good idea to be in a serious relationship when so young. Our prayers are with you at this time.

He is my cousins son, I remember him before they moved over to Utah. This is probably the worst thing a mother can do so my thoughts and prayers are with you all...jme

CP | 7:51 p.m. Jan. 10, 2009
My daughter does know both of them involved. Not my eldes, but my youngest. Rene's brother was in my daughter's 9th gr. math class and they sat together and were paired to work out the math problems in class. She was always so grateful for his help cause she said he was always smarter then her in that class. They were close friends. She goes to a different high school then he did, but she still thinks highly of him. She also grew up with the girl and they were close friends until Jr. high. My daughter also feels that the story is just that a STORY. It's not the facts.

Rene, I am sorry for your loss. I just lost my brother almost a month ago so I understand your pain. Remember we are all God's children and He loves us. I don't know your family but I am sure your brother was a wonderful person! Ignore rude comments made by others and forget the stories in the paper. Truth will prevail. Your family will be in my prayers.
My condolences | 1:05 p.m. Jan. 11, 2009
To all family and friends of this young man, I offer my sincere condolences. As others have said, a story is just that, and all the facts and circumstances will never be known, and are less important than the fact that you have suffered a terrible loss, and the community has lost a young man who, from all responses so far, was a kind, loving and compassionate person and for that we all have suffered a loss.

I was one of the 3 witness that had to go to the police and talk about what happened at the mall on the 9th. I was parked right beside his car. I swear this whole event has changed the way I look at life as well as how I look at people. I am praying for the family and the young girl as well. Its unbelivable.

I am very sorry for the young boy, God bless him and his family. People please wake up now, USA is the only country that selling gun everywhere without hassle, and they are not expensive for even 17 years old kids. People think that gun will protect them but unfortunately it doesn't. How many kids used gun last 10 years, they kill other kids also. Remember Trolley Square incident. Who sell the gun to them? How you could be that comfortable to give the sellers freedom. The young people used them to show their power, they are young, they don't know how dangerous to carry the gun. They will fall in love, they will be angry with their friends, they will have other problems, and they will use gun to show their feelings. I am very sorry and angry.

Rene,
I dont know who you are but I was with my brother when he was shot 7 times and he died in my arms. Its going to be tough but rest assured knowing he is in heaven and is in a much better place. I cant tell you time heals because it really doesnt, and it doesnt really get easier to deal with. Just keep his memories alive in your heart, he is with you even though you dont see him. My prayers go out to you and your family! I know first hand how you feel. Be strong and know one day you will see him again.
