Well, the first thing you'd probably do is call the cops. But what if they ignored you as the rest of the world ignores Israel when it takes something to the United Nations or appeals to world governments to intervene?
Well in your case, if you couldn't get any help from the authorities you'd probably go to your gun case, considering you had one, and get the most lethal piece of firepower you've got and protect your family.
Well, that's what the Israelis are doing. The rest of the world wants Israel to ceasefire and withdraw its ground troops before they do anything meaningful about the deadly situation.
In the meantime Hamas is not interested in a ceasefire. They were the one who started this in the first place, and they just keep lobbing rockets into Israel. They have no intention of stopping until they're forced to and that's exactly what the Israelis are doing.
