We wonder why more good people don't run for office. Here is a perfect example. It is not worth the hassle and stress.
It's a thankless job. It's risky. You have to deal with dirtbags from the media, from the government, from everywhere really.
I'll bet he was falsely accused, it caused him stress, and he probably has been inhibited in doing his job so he's throwing in the towel. He's probably sick of it all.
