Sen. Reid has now accepted Mr. burris's credentials. Now the country can move forward and begin to heal it's wounds from this national nightmare.
Oh yeah, and the check finally cleared.

BTW- Mr. Burris's credentials are far more accomplished than Mr. Obama's.
Illinois is brazen | 10:16 a.m. Jan. 7, 2009
You've gotta love how brazen Illinois politicians are. They have some of the worst politicians and judges in the US.

It should make you appreciate Utah politics.

I wonder who got Harry Ried to "change" his mind.
Or did the situation really change that much in one day ??? we all know the answer to that.

Mr. Burris suggested that Obama's seat was black and should stay that way. Without a genetic mutation of some kind, I assume it will.

By the way, how much did Burris pay to sit his seat in Obama's chair anyway?

All is well again in democrat land. I'm wondering though, should somebody check these senator's freezers, what is wrapped up in that tin foil might not be a T-bone.

Burris is a great candidate to fill Obama's seat. He just went about getting into the seat the wrong way. Hope he gets in, I think he would be a great job.

How much longer will we have to stomach the unbridled arrogance of Harry Reid (and Nancy Pelosi)???
Phil | 1:22 p.m. Jan. 7, 2009
First Burris, next Al Frankin, next Kennedy of New York, typical democratic representation.

re: Herb and Phil

Please oh please let the democrats continue on with their holier-than-attitude and their corruption.

We have had to stomach the hatred they have shown towards Bush and his party for the last 8 years and the dems are showing that they are incapable of change.

And to think, it is only 13 more days before Obama gets in and to think of how much more there will be. This outa be fun!

>>>Sen. Reid has now accepted Mr. Burris's credentials.<<<

Whoa!!! Wait a minute. What has Dirty Harry to do with anything? I thought Vice President Dick Cheney was President of the Senate. And as such, has the final say in such matters. What's going on here?

Reid is in clear violation of the US Constitution (article 1.3.4) when acting in the capacity of a president. He needs to be called on it and perhaps impeached.

to know why U.S. Atty. Fitzgerald made his wiretapping of the Ill. gov. public before the Senate seat selling dirty deal was completed. Because of this he probably lost his case against the gov. so there must have been a much more powerful reason.

Inquiring minds would like to know why.

Fitzgerald was doubtless doing the U.S. a favor and saving the history of the first half-white pesident (not being racist at all - I'm just tired of hearing that Obama is the first black president - that is just not true - he is of mixed race). It's time for a little truth out of all Washington politicans, at least every once in a while.
Violation of the Constitution | 2:47 p.m. Jan. 7, 2009
The entire Gov't is a corrupt violation of the constitution.
@I still want.... | 2:52 p.m. Jan. 7, 2009
The reason Fitzgerald came out early was because a Chicago paper was going to publish an article outting the entire investigation any ways.

Please finish reading your constitution. Don't stop at 1.3.4.

Try 1.5.1 "Each house shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members..."

Of course you remember that the Vice President has no vote unless the vote is tied, don't you?

Silly.

Most blacks in this country has some white ancestry. Should we always have them tell us what percentage white they are?

Most whites have Native American blood...or so they think.

The wording of the 1.5.1 is very clear. Its for certifying elections, returns and qualifications of perspective Senators.

Certifying elections, and returns doesn't apply in this case. he's being lawfully appointed by the Governor. No election there to certify.

Certifying qualifications has been interpreted to mean that he's a legal resident of the state in question and meets the age requirement to be a senator, something that Mr Burris has met.

Democrats would certainly want to know the exact lineage of each of us - that way they could further subdivide the degree of victimhood, and put a specific value on subsequent benefits and entitlements due to each of us from the government, the rich, employers, or fellow citizens who happen to have 100% caucasian lineage.

It's better that way for the dems - it tends to perpetuate whining and defines the haves from the have nots.
