Good for Noah. He's really looking good! On the other hand, what the heck has happened to James Anderson??? He played quite a few minutes in the game against USU and I thought he did very well. Since then, Nada. He got one whole minute last night. Against Wake Forest Archie Rose goes in at center when the two big men foul out. Why not Anderson? Last night Hartsock played some center. Again, why not Anderson? Is he hurt or otherwise in the coache's doghouse?

Hartsock should be a starter at power forward next season after an offseason to regain his form - pushing Tavernari over to Cummard's small forward position for his senior year. We return 7 of our top 8 players and add some nice recruits. We will obviously miss Cummards all-around game but still should be a 20-win team.

Unless Hartsock greatly improves his athleticism, I don't see him ever living up the recruiting hype.

BYU has a good team not a great team. They struggle athletically just as the football has this past year. Again'st Wake it was evident that was so. We have no athletic big men. That was a big eye sore in that game. They will struggle again'st utah yes utah they are coming on, and also Unlv. We just can't attract the upper class athlete here because of the honor code. Although I do agree with the code it is a big hinderance. We must face the fact in all of our sports we cannot attract the blacks that dominate the sports world. We will not be able to be BCS worthy like Utah BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE CODE. Why do you think Kyle turned us down? He would not be able to get the athletes he needs. BYU is handicapped. PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING THIS YEAR IS A CLASSIC DOMINATION BY UTAH WITH ATHLETES! So folks if you think we can do it with our current handicap think again. I am a fan but this is reality. Never have we been to a final in basketball. We won't be BCS bound anytime soon either.

Dear Mike B., I guess the last two seasons in football we didn't have the athletes to compete with Yewtah. (2 wins 0 losses) BCS worthy? Give me a break. Last time I checked there were "black athletes" as you called them on both the football and basketball teams. So I guess you would take Brian Johnson over Max Hall. Johnson just played his last game. I would rather go 10-2 every single year with student/athletes that keep the honor code then play in the emerald bowl 2 out of every 3 years and then play a cupcake schedule of road games to make it into a BCS game. If we can't win right then we shouldn't be in the business of trying to win. BTW, BYU has been winning and dominating the Yewts for the last 30 years and will continue to do so. And I am not just talking about football and basketball. So you think BYU should hire a guy like Rick Majerus just so we can go to the final four. NOT! You call yourself a fan? BYU doesn't need fans like you. Go root for the Yewts, they need all they can get.

To Ray and Mike,

Does any of that really matter? What matters is that BYU hasn't won a Tournament Game in almost 20 years and their football team is 1-21 against ranked opponents. Those are the two statistics that really matter. BYU needs to improve or they may find that the MWC invites them to leave and rejoin the WAC.

Hey don't you have bigger things to worry about? Like your school losing a bunch of funding and professors and basically downsizing? Now who's going to teach you how to milk cows and make cheese?

You've got to be kidding me!! There is no way that the MWC "invites BYU to leave". Even Thompson isn't that stupid. Whether you or they want to admit it or not, BYU fills the coffers of all of the athletic programs in the conference. They put people in the seats and that's $$$. (That may be a foreign concept for an Aggie, where the idea of a sell-out remains fantasy.) I'll admit that the Cougars still have a ways to go to make consistent waves on the national scene and start improving their record against ranked teams (by the way, where did you get the 1-21 figure?), but they are on their way. Despite the nay-sayers, I believe that there are top-notch athletes out there (LDS or non-) that also have what it takes to not only live the Honor Code, but thrive in Bronco's philosophy.

Hey re: USU Fan,

Did you read the article in todays D-News about BYU having a hiring freeze and having to downsize?

How many times is the DN going to allow this bozo to post this same lame post before they start censoring him?

We really need a controlled forum where users have to sign in so we can weed out the 12 year olds.

True story:

My wife just had a baby when BYU won its last Tournament Game. That baby has just been accepted to enroll at BYU in the fall.

BYU, please win a Tourny Game for my daughter. She grew up rooting for you year after year. Let her taste the sweetness that a Tourny Game would bring.

Win one for the Gipper!
