More SO2 and NOx | 9:42 a.m. Jan. 7, 2009
Without being required to offset will worsen the air. This project has come in before the cleanup needed to bring the area in attainment of the new PM2.5 NAAQS begins. Its 98 tons of SO2 which causes sun blocking, hydrated sulfates during winter inversions. Yup, just what we need, more power and pollution.

I'd much rather they built a large nuclear plant there. It could power half the state with NO air pollution.

Absolutely NOT !
There's already too much garbage in the air in Davis County !
When will they learn !?

We need more power for more people. I'm not for polluting the air anymore than anyone else, but I need energy to heat my classroom. What are you suggestions on how to get this energy? Solar power and wind power cannot generate the amount of necessary energy needed. Maybe everyone should drive a hybrid car like me.

In response to Thinking Man above, where will Utah get the water for nuclear? Nukes take 50% more water to generate power compared to coal and gas-fired power plants, and energy generation in this country already consumes water equivilant to agriculture. At least solar and wind don't consume water to generate power.

They say they'd emit within the set limits, but why risk it? The air is bad enough as it is.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
