Great stupid comment! Cj can't even be traded according to the CBA this
season. And after this season the one team he can't be traded to is the
thunder since the jazz matched their offer.

Wow, I didn't even know about the no trade to thunder even after a year
part of the trade rules, nicely done.
I like CJ and all, but if you play for 20 minutes and all you really do is shoot the ball 4 times then you have a serious problem. And that problem isn't about talent or skills or anything like that, it is about heart and hustle.
I am starting to agree with the people out there calling for Almond and Price to get a shot.
Here's the problem though, Sloan has repeatedly said that Brewer is not a SF, and Price and Almond are definately NOT forwards. So if you started Price or Almond in place of CJ you would be starting with what amounts to a 3 guard small ball lineup with 4 out of 5 starters under 6'8" tall.
Miles, you're CJ's biggest stalke...I mean fan, why don't you kidnap..er...sit him down and help him out. tell him how great he is and that he just needs to stop worrying about looking good and start getting after it. The Jazz really do need him to be a factor if they want to be succesful.

They CAN trade CJ to any team but OKC this year... the one thing blocking any
trade is that he would have to approve the trade, or something like that (IIRC).

That is my understanding as well... This year, CJ can be traded to any team
besides OKC, with his consent. So, he would need to agree to the trade... but
couldn't be traded to OKC (this year) even with his consent. (I
think....LOL)

The Jazz are the most apathetic, disinterested team I have ever seen. The way they play, it's hard for me to tell if they care if they win or not. Teams that WANT to win play hard all the time. The Jazz play hard sometimes. Occasionally. When they feel like it. And that just isn't going to get the job done.

The Jazz need to start Korver at the two, move Milsap to the three and start AK

In the starting lineup Miles is the 5th scoring option. For a 5th option he can
be very good. When he gets going he is automatic from outside and takes the
ball to the basket very well. The problem I have with Miles is in his spot as
one of the last options on the offensive side he doesn't play enough
defense. They need to trade him and probably Boozer for a shooting guard and
maybe a longer interior defender. Boozer doesn't give the Jazz anything
more than what Milsap does and even when he is back and healthy I don't see
how you can sit Milsap in favor of Boozer.

post,high post,5 out post,inside post,too many minutes,not enough minutes,on and
on...KK boys ( Koufos/Korver) really came in and gave us a spark,as did Ronnie B
in the 4th,AK another solid game of the bench,GO JAZZ!!!!

With our line-up now we have 4 out of 5 starters 6'8" or under. So I really don't think it would be a huge difference to put Almond in(besides the fact that neither of them are true small forwards).
Putting Price in though would be small ball, and I wouldn't want a line up that small to begin with, But I wouldn't mind seeing Almond get a shot and see what he does with it.

Millsap has done a yeoman's job filling in for Boozer. But and All-Star,

CJ is fine. He has played every game. Even the great players have
"off" nights or weeks. He is doing as good as any rookie out there
except for OJ. I wish we would trade him. He would be better off somewhere
where they don't run the pick and roll every play. How many points did
CJ's man score last night? Maybe because he is playing defense outside, he
is not around the basket to get rebounds. The other players get beat so they
are always running at the basket and the ball just happens to fall into their
arms. CJ doesn't get beat so his back is always to the basket where it
should be. Getting rebounds and steals does not equate to good man defense.
Taking chances and not guarding your man equate to rebounds and steals for small
men.

CJ can be traded as long as he agrees to it. Bench him for a few games and he
can be traded. Sorry Miles, but CJ is not a good defensive player.

I think the reason CJ is stil starting is because AK is playing so well off the bench. Also, while they haven't said so publicly, it appears as though the Jazz have made a concious decision to try and limit AK to around 25-30 minutes a night, which is necessary considering the fact that he has probably played the equivalent of 15 seasons of professional basketball and the body can only take so much. It really has little to do with CJ.
I like SirJazzalots idea of starting Korver and AK with Williams Millsap and Okur, with Brewer filling the 6th man role.
The other option that makes sense but nobody seems to be talking about is starting Korver in place of Miles. He has actually played some SF in his career and has been playing pretty well lately.

More important than starting is total minutes played and who plays in the 4th
quarter. Korver gets more minutes and ends the games. So unless you are
willing to totally cut into Miles' minutes it really doesn't matter
that he starts.

I was watching miles last night while he was in and he is the laziest rebounder!
If the ball happens to bounce his way, he'll pick it up, but don't
expect him to go out of his way to get it.

Golden State team...Jazz must be destined for NBA finals after a win like
that!!! Get serious, we barely beat a terrible team on our home court.

If you think the pick and roll is the reason CJ is having so many problems I've got some bad news for you, nearly every team in the league with a decent point guard runs the pick and roll, and they do so frequently.
Also, stopping your man from scoring is only about half of what it takes to play good defence. CJ isn't a man on an island out there, if he's not going to do his part to help the team rebound and if he is so worried about his own guy scoring that he is unwilling to leave his man and help out his teamates then he is not playing good defence, he is playing selfish basketball and he is hurting the team.
You should know that I think CJ is a perfect fit in the starting linup for the Jazz his athleticism and his ability to shoot the 3 are perfect compliments to the slashing inside games of Brewer and Boozer/Millsap. But if CJ isn't willing to do the dirty work and get after it then he becomes part of the problem and not the solution.

should have to give help on every play. Maybe if Brewer, Korver and Williams
would keep the player in front of them, they wouldn't need help every play.
I think there is a lot of jealousy towards CJ signing a big contract and all of
you making $30,000 a year. You all believe Sloan is a no-nonsense coach. So if
CJ is so bad, why is your man Jerry playing him? HUMMMMM.....Maybe because he
is better than Harp and Korver. But on the other hand, if playing Cj is bad,
then Sloan must be a bad coach. Which is it?

has talent and I think we all wanted him to succeed, but enough with the lame
excuses. He is not playing well and has only had a couple of really good games.
His man scored all night, on him and others. Miles lacks desire, he rarely takes
it to the hole with energy and athleticism, which does nothing to help free him
up for jumpers.
Miles, quit blaming his play on everything and everyone, if he wanted to contribute he could. Look at Brewer, Price, Millsap and Harpring. Odds staked against them, they find ways to contribute. Nobody is perfect, but they are paid professionals and should know how to contribute on both ends of the floor.
I believe Magnus is making reference to the old De-Fence signs during the Jazz game on the electronic screen that displayed an old picket fence and encouraged the crowd to chant "De-Fence" when the opponent had the ball. Rather clever and you young kids may never have seen this...

nothing more than a thug in shorts. Price never leaves the pine. You think CJ
lacks desire. What he lacks is experience at the Pro level. As he plays more,
the better he will respond. Most pros take a few years to develop their game.
Look at Kobe when he was a rookie. Not that great. Made lots of mistakes. CJ
is the best the Jazz have. So until they trade him for someone better, be glad
we have him.

Miles, Price as you recall, is not a point. he stepped up last year when we
needed him to play the position. He stepped up this year when Deron was out and
got us to a great start. He plays with energy and does not give up on any play.
Harpring does what is needed and has a great jump shot coming off a screen. Same
as Ginobli on the Spurs. He is a thug, frustrates players and is very
effective.
You are what one would refer to as a hypocrite. CJ could be good, it is his fault he is not succeeding. He has been in the league 4 years. He is getting an opportunity to start and increase his minutes. It is his fault he is not where he should be. He is not THE problem, but he is not making himself a part of the solution.

Befor the CJ haters get to out of control it should be noted that from a pure
statistical production standpoint CJ is better than any of the other guys we
have all proposed to replace him with. His per game, per 48 minute, and player
efficiency rating (PER) production are all better than Korver, Almond, and
Price.
However his Lenovo Stats, which measure how the team as a whole did when he was in the game in terms of point allowed versus points scored are significantly lower than Korvers and are the lowest +/- per minute (over the entire season) of the 9 players who played last night.
Here's another interesting gem...
Statistically Carlos Boozer is one of the most dominant players in the league. His PER is of the charts and his per minute production is the best on the Jazz team.
But when you look at the Lenovo +/- you see a different story.

I do not think anyone one on here wants see Miles fail. Quite the opposite I
think we were all some what excited because the potential he has. But the
potential has shown it self here and there but never consistently. Miles made
the point that everyone has an off night which is true, not long ago AK went
1-13 from the field but the difference is he made up for it in other areas of
the game as do others. Last night KK did not shoot the ball well but he had 6
rebounds a blocked shot and a steal. The other thing that was bothersome and the
announcers picked up on it last night was that he did not join the huddle in the
fourth quarter with the rest of the team. That is one thing that will get you a
ride out of town on the Sloan Bus. Giracek did that same thing and he is not
even in the NBA anymore. He is young and some times young people think they know
better but if you look at the attitude Koufos has and look at where it has got
him, CJ might want hang with him.
