I like most governors until their heads swell beyond a normal size and all their buttons pop off their stuffed shirts. I'm wondering if we will ever have a real genuine person as governor who isn't a phony baloney and acts like an adult????????????????????????

Sounds like JPL is fussing again. Sad boy.

I thought Gove., Leavitt was great. He's a family man just like me.

To JMT:

JMT says: "Please don't translate that into the love fest you want. Now, let Leavitt get 75% etc and we will talk another tune."

Fact: Leavitt garnered 75% of the electoral vote in 1996.

Better check the facts prior to making a cheap and invalid point...

that's how i like to refer to him... he's as plastic as they come. he makes my skin crawl. like the others at the time, he should have fallen with the rest of the organizing committee.
This is what I think... | 4:55 p.m. Jan. 5, 2009
I think Mike Leavitt wants to be a US Senator. He will run for the senate against Bennett or he will run for the senate if Hatch retires.

Anyone who has watched Leavitt work knows he is a great leader and could do much to improve our country. The mean-spirited responses to this article may be fun to write, but they are not based in reality.

The Senate is his for the taking. I would not be surprised if Leavitt and Huntsman replace Hatch and Bennett when the next Senate elections roll around. Right now I would think that H and B could not win re-election if L and H decide to run against them.

It's good that his family can make nice comments about him on this post. He is their hero.

I have met both Mike Leavitt and his JCS, Rich Mckeown. I will say that it is obvious that their was a lot of political persuasion being pushed in the circles they frequented. And it was obvious that there was definitely not a seperation of their personal agenda's, LDS Church requirements, and Republican Party bias. The jet abuse was more self serving than satisfying the needs of government( though some might say those contacts will be beneficial for them in the future)...

These guys are best friends and though McKeown seems to be a nice man, he cannot seperate himself from this Leavitt; the attachment is a bit odd.

However, I do wish them both the best. I guess we will have to wait see what they bring next, because contrary to popular thought, I know that they are not finished. If it is the private sector that is better suited for them, then let it be, but don't write them out, they have a lot to contribute that could really help...Moreover, I believe they still have a genuine desire to serve.

Good Luck Leavitt and McKeown
