To all the athletes looking to choose Utah or BYU - Both are great achools and have great football programs.

You can go to either school and have a good shot at winning most of your games and going to a bowl game each year.

If you choose Utah - you will most likely win those bowl games.

If you choose BYU - Hmmmmm - nice season, but what is that empty feeling in your bowl?

If you go to BYU.... | 9:18 a.m. Jan. 4, 2009
You will be a young man of great character.

You will be building yourself, not just wins.

You will have the opportunity to change peoples lives by the firesides you do before each game.

You will learn to live your life right "on and off the field".

You will be a part of a National Championship Program, a Heisman winning program.

You will be a part of a National reputation with a National following. A team that sells out their 60,000 seat stadium for EVERY game.

You will be a part of a team that has it's real priorities straight. (a GAME isn't the most importanat)

You will be a part of a divine institution, the Lords University.

You will be a winner

From Vegas Ute:

Your comments sound a little "itish" (and there were no "ites" among them).

I thought the Lord was no respector of men.

To read your comments, one would think that agency plays no part in the direction of our lives, only the place that we attend college.

I live in the "field" comments like this raise more questions, (the wrong kind), then give answers.

Please keep this kind of Cougar "Pride" to yourself.

Cougar stadium is a great place to watch a game; however, I'm afraid that most of the Cougar T-shirts in the stadium at any given time are "stuffed".

The Lords University?

I think Notre Dame would have something to say about that. I don't think the Lord U comment will cause many boys to sign a letter of commitment with the Y.

What about Oral Roberts U, Bob Jones U (what a name for a school), Liberty and all the others across this country who think they have divine intervention going on at their campus?

You know the old joke they tell in Heaven -who is that standing over there in the corner? That is the Mormons and they think they are the only ones here.

One should also include Utah State University, a fine institution and perhaps they will get a winning football team in a few years. Good luck Ags.

I'm LDS myself, and what i seem to be hearing is that only BYU has self righteous people and is the most divine and the LORDS university? You and the rest of the BYU Cougar fans are a bunch of cry baby, whiners who can only watch your "Quest for Perfection" go down the drain! And lose to a mediocre, unranked Arizona team from the Pac-10 in the Vegas Bowl? I hope Collie does go pro and to the draft to make an impact in the league! It's BYU fans that can't take that the "UTES" are a BETTER team, which reached perfection and won meaningful games ALL YEAR LONG!! Just be glad to know that you will be part of a non-BCS conference that will have "2" teams at the end of this College football season in the TOP 10, while your team is on the outside looking in only hoping to stay in the TOP 25! GO UTES!! AND TCU! The Cougars and their fans make me SICK!!

Congrats to the U of U on their being the only undefeated team in the country.

"If you go to BYU..." you clearly won't learn anything about either spelling or grammar. Ever heard of an apostrophe? How about a hyphen?

If BYU's players had their priorities as straight as some people seem to think, Max Hall might not have come home early from his mission. Just a thought.

Re. If You Go To BYU.

Stop living in the past. Your program has not done anything since 1984. Check the dates on your so called national championship and Heisman trophies. Coach Edwards does not work in Provo anymore. Meanwhile the Utes... well scoreboard says it all!

Utah is the dominant program in the state and will be for years to come. I know it is hard to watch all of BYU's dreams pack their bags and move north. I love that you must watch as the Utes achieve greatness and grow in strength. BCS envy X 2 looks great on you! Hey there is always next year!

I have been taught in my ward that the world is the Lords university, and that it was our agency and choices that make us great people, not an institution. BYU is a great school with many great programs, but it is the goodness of the people that make this world great.

Utes don't hate BYU, we hate the type of arrogance that comes out of her fans in posts like yours.

There is always next year, scoreboard baby!!!

Go Utes

BYU and Utah Need each other!!! Doesn't anyone see that. Those two teams plus a good TCU team now have put the stepping stones in that had to be there. I'm a TCU fan and I loved to see Utah spank BAMA. I hope next year BYU, Utah, and TCU all do awesome again. Think Utah fans the last two years BYU beat you guys. I wouldn't say that they suck because next year they might have your number. I'm predicting that the Mountain west will for sure have an automatic bid when the board reviews again. Keep beating up on the pac 10 and we should be there soon. GO TCU

Being a church owned University is not equivalent to being the Lord's university. I'm fairly certain that the Lord blesses righteous living at other colleges as much if not more than at BYU. I bet the Lord rolls his eyes every time someone says that, just like every time someone attributes "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it," to him.
