This is the kind of writing Dick Harmon wishes he could manage.

Great game played by a great team. Bama is one of the tops in the country this year and no one can deny that. Great job Utah!!!! I believe you earned respect this season. Bama deserved to be in a BCS game(unlike Pitt who Utah destroyed a few years back). No one can say Utah had it easy this year. Great game and great season!!!!!!!!!!!! I neve like Johnson before this season but he made me a believer. The guy made plays to win when he had to. What a great asset he was. Good job!!!!!! And great job by the coaches to prepare a game plan to catch Bama off guard. Excellent game plan+excellent execution=great win!!!!

It's funny. The football blue-bloods always say mtn. teams can never compete because the SEC has such depth. And now, they lose a player or two and that's all we hear about. Does "embarassed" start with a capital E? Way to go Utes--great job!

Get over yourself and stop your complaining about Dick Harmon. If you don't like his style, stop reading his articles. This was a good article, but don't slam Dick Harmon.

Grow up already. You are so insecure. Dick Harmon doesn't even regularly cover your team. You are so unbelievably pathetic that you would call for his job. Almost as pathetic as me taking time to respond to your low-life posting. You apparently were raised by dogs and never learned to be gracious as a winner.

I wonder if Barry Switzer will change his mind on the talent level of the Ute players when he states in the FOX pregame analysis "there is not one current player on the Utah team that Alabama would choose to recruit." On the flip side, given the Utes offensive and defensive scheme, are there any current Alabama players that the Utes would recruit?

Harmon's fine. He does well what he does and it sells papers.

I have maintained all year (and for the past decade) that the SEC is a mythical land of beasts and leprechauns and people who see no one else on the planet that can play football. Bary=ry Switzer, a Big-12 advocate, even fell for it. Why? Because they gloss up their records and get good bowl match-ups. The ranked teams they play are always conference foes---almost NEVER OOC---except in bowl situations where it seems for every big bowl they win---they lose one. Example LSU clobbers a hot Georgia Tech team and SoCarolina gets clobbered by Iowa.

No question SEC makes for good football. That's why they are on network TV (CBS). But to pretend they're the only ones who can play and that you haven't really beaten anyone until you've beaten an SEC team is silly.

This writer even said Utah treated Bama like it was "Wyoming." Uh, would that be the same 4-8 Wyoming team which beat Tennessee on the road? Perhaps he could have said Utah treated Bama like it was Tennessee? Or any other overrated SEC team.

Alabama's 2's and 3's were supposed to be starting for Utah. Nobody talked about Utah O-line that out weighed Alabama's. They dominated Alabama's defense all night. Alabama's starting center that was talking smack a the coin flip got punked.

Last we heard, Barry is at home with the curtains drawn, sucking his thumb in the fetal position.

The same people who gave us slavery and big tobacco have given us the bcs. do you expect them to give up the corrupt bcs any easier than the prior evils.

Under Barry Switzer Oklahoma was the most aptly named team in NCAA D-1 football. You'll know what a sooner is don't you> A Sooner is a CHEATER. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WANT A "CHEATER" AS A MASCOT. Sooners were the people who snuck off early (cheated) in teh Okalhoma land rush. Geez

Barry Switzer is the reason it has taken Oklahoma the last 10 years to rebuild their Fb. Program.Cheating doesn't begin to cover what he cost them in scholarships,recruits,funding,reputation and athletic respectibility.I know a certain smelly Botany Pond now named " The Barry Switzer Bowl" Ha. Congrats. to all Utah Players,Coaches, and Supporters.

I think teams like Texas and Ohio State and Ole Miss and Penn should be speaking up. This BCS system is hurting them just as much as it is us. Sure, they benefit financially, but the general rule (the general rule) is if they lose one or two games, they don't even get a shot to play for the championship that year. Look at the New York Giants! They had the worst record going into the playoffs last year, and they won the Superbowl!

At least once a week Dick Harmon drops a column that has a metaphor or simile so awkward, so stilted, so worthy of ridicule, that his old BYU professors want to take back his degree.

There they were, Bombastic Barry sitting next to Genteel Jimmy. Memo to Barry: bombastic never works, genteel usually does and at least leaves some margin when you mis-calculate your analysis.

Unfortunately, Barry is the better model of BCS attitude.

Anyone know why Alabama didn't show up?
