The game just ended and I have to feel very good about the Utes and the way they
represented my state and my athletic conference. 31-17 over the 2nd best team in
the SEC. Good job, Utes. Here in our avid BYU-fans household are thrilled. The
Tide hardly knew what hit them.

Well, as much as I despise the Utes, I have to hand it to them. As I always say,
you can't argue with success. And the Utes have succeeded. Congratulations.
Thanks for adding more fuel to the fire that will eventually (hopefully) burn
the BCS to the ground.

this certainly tops 1984, in fairness to the way College Football is done now a
win over the Tide who had one loss vs. our undefeated season, well I have to
give advantage to the Utes.

Utes were weak, obviously Alabama even weaker. Let us see next year when Max is
in full force... See Ya, enjoy what you have now but next year be aware.

Have to admit I wish it had been BYU, but can't take anything away from
Utah. GOOD WIN! I'm glad to see it.
Now we get to listen to all the BCS apologists make excuses about how Alabama was weak--after these same people kept going on about how Alabama's only loss was to Florida and the SEC was so tough and there was no way they could lose.

Greatest win ever by a non-BCS football team. You went toe to toe with a team
that you weren't supposed to be able to compete with, according to Barry
Switzer and the national media.
You beat Bama every which way. The score does not indicate how one-sided the game was. Florida barely beat them and they will probably be national champs.
Thanks for representing the conference and the state so well. Congratulations, and I hope this doesn't hurt our recruiting too much.

Great win! Way to go. You certainly got the attention of the sportscasters on
Fox. Way to put the pressure on. Hopefully the U gets recognized for the perfect
season and rewarded accordingly in the rankings.

Leslie, don't make a fool out of yourself. Yes, too late, and this is
coming from a BYU fan. What ifs, wait till next season, stats, etc...it's
the win/loss stat that only counts. Utes did it, BYU didn't do it - Utah
is the better team right now, and may continue being the better team for a
while.
It was a great win over a very good SEC team.
And if USC is complaining about getting snubbed for the NC, so should Utah. The Utes have as much right to it as does USC, Florida, or Oklahoma.

As well as you played tonight I'm surprised you didn't beat us by 60 points in November.
Congratulations! You earned the respect of entire college football world and every Cougar fan.
No negative comments from Cougar fans please! Utes deserve their undefeated status! Great coaching and great execution by the players.
Have a playoff - Utah deserves NC consideration!
(I live in SoCal and of course everyone here feels USC could beat anyone right now...would love to see them play Utah!)

is much more impressive than the so-called 1984 NC BYU.
Utah defeated OSU which was ranked in top-20.
Utah defeated TCU which was ranked as high as 11th.
Utah defeated BYU which was ranked in top-10 during 1 or 2 weeks.
Utah defeated Alabama which was ranked #1 for 5 weeks until the last week.
13-0.
What else can Utah do to win NC?

Reading what has been posted since my congratulations at 9:43, I suddenly had a
revelation. I no longer have to pay attention when people ridicule the zoobies,
because I am not one. Zoobies may be BYU fans, but they don't represent
BYU. A true-blue BYU fan has class and doesn't make disparaging remarks
about their rival when their rival just rocked the world. People like Leslie is
not a representative of BYU and he/she certainly does not represent me.
I just hope the Ute fans will understand that people like Leslie do not represent BYU. They are zoobies, and I, for one, wish they would just go away.

1. Thank you to the BYU fans who complimented the Utes. This is not the time
to come on to line just to tear down this victory. BYU didn't compare to
Utah this season. There is no doubt who the best team in Utah is (and maybe the
nation).
2. Alabama is not a weak team, they are very, very good.
3. Utah is not only good enough to beat Alabama, they could compete against Oklahoma, Florida, or USC.
4. Utah had the perfect game plan for Alabama and executed it superbly.
5. This was simply the best statement ever made for a play-off system.
6. Utah has a real coach in Whittingham and this program has legs.
7. Utah is simply the best non-BCS team to take the field since the inception of the BCS system.
8. I believe that this gives Utah 3 wins against highly ranked opponents this year. That is as good as any other team in the BCS.
9. There is no need to play the degrees of separation game with this team. They beat all comers.

inception. My only consolation is that the coaching staff is jumping ship and

Great job Utes! To Coug UC and others like him, leave it off mate - Utah has
done something great here and it benefits the whole MWC. We will finish with
two teams in the top 10 and maybe BYU will stay in the top 25 if we are lucky.
In all fairness, there should be some serious consideration for Utah as National
Champions. As I recall, Florida could only beat Alabama by 11 on an, arguably,
more neutral field. Should they beat Oklahoma one would have to argue for Utah.
The MWC beat up on PAC 10 teams all year (until BYU's bowl game) so that
rules out USC. If Oklahoma loses you can also rule out Texas regardless of
whether they win. Unfortunately, the voters will not be able to follow the
logic on this one and either Oklahoma or Florida will be crowned. Wherever you
end up Utes, you have done yourselves, the Conference, and the State proud -
well done!
