RE: Since 1990 | 8:23 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Again Zoobs fans the most important fact since 1990:

Utah BCS 2
BYU BCS 0

How do you ignore history making facts when comparing programs is beyond my Ute education. I guess I'm just not smart enough as a BYU grad.

"It's a rosy future for the Cougars."

Since rose's are red the future does look good for the Utes...

4&18 and Harline vs. 2004 & 2008 beat downs.

Even during our bad years we can compete with BYU. In the good years the Ute team pummels BYU and makes the BCS game.

So more power to BYU going 3 straight years with 10 wins and MWC championships. No one cares, when you make the BCS and win a game then the nation will notice.

"slight edge to Utah because of head-to-head and two BCS invites, but the BCS factor is over-rated."

Really so in Zoob eyes "Quest for Perfection" was supposed to lead to Vegas? Compared to the million dollar BCS game. Boy talk about lofty goals.

Like I said making a BCS game is priceless, something a BYU fan will never understand.

After UTES stun bama with the upset win, and Gaytors and URban Meyer get taken to the woodshed by OKlahoma...

Wouldn't it be cool that the UTES/Whit would be ranked higher in the final poll than Meyer/TEbow!! Hey, it could happen!

GOOOOOOOO UTES!!!!!!!
Quest redux | 9:52 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
"Really so in Zoob eyes "Quest for Perfection" was supposed to lead to Vegas?"

No, in BYU fan eyes "Quest for Perfection" meant winning another National Championship, in addition to an undefeated season and a BCS bid.

I know that's hard for Utah fans to fathom. It'll probably take Utah winning a National Championship of their own for Utah fans to understand what true perfection on a college football level is.

Quest: an act or instance of seeking: pursuit

The Quest for a 2nd National Championship for BYU will just have to wait for another year.

As much as Utah fans like to disparage BYU's 10-2 record and #16 ranking this season, if Utah was playing BYU in their bowl game this year, instead of Alabama, BYU would have the best record and second highest ranking of any team Utah has ever played in a bowl.

Best Pre-Bowl Opponent Record
#16 BYU 10-2
unranked New Mexico 8-2 (1939 Sun Bowl)

Best Pre-Bowl Opponent Ranking
#15 Arizona 8-4 (1994 Freedom Bowl)
#16 BYU 10-2

Bottom line: Utah has never beaten a bowl opponent as good as this season's BYU team (combined record and ranking).
Re: Quest Redux | 10:28 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Before you spat off remember that BYU has not beaten anybody this year with a winning record. The closest is Colorado St. at 6-6. So that is why a 10-2 record is so laughable. Yea, the Cougars beat everyone they were supposed to, but were clobbered by the two teams who have a winning record. You were robbed by those who scheduled the season to see just how good BYU could have been.
Zoobies are so jealous it hurts | 11:16 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Even if Utah loses or get killed. They made it here and you never will. Keep talking about next year, we will find a way to pound you again and you can talk down on the Utes to make the cougs sound better. How I pray the Wildcats thump BYU.
Zoobies? | 11:49 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Wait a minute the Utes say prayers?
re: Redux | 10:28 p.m. | 7:26 a.m. Dec. 18, 2008
Clueless!!! but, that's to be expected from a bratty little Utah fan who "spats" off without knowing what he's talking about.

BYU beat 8-4 Air Force on the road 38-24; and didn't need a late, game-saving touchdown to do it, like Utah did in their 30-23 win.
Tarheel Ute | 4:14 p.m. Dec. 18, 2008
Utah has a chance against Alabama. How good a chance depends on what team shows up. The Ute team that beat TCU is probably not going to beat Alabama. The Ute team that beat BYU has a chance. What a difference two weeks made.

I do not count on Alabama overlooking Utah. I do not expect the Utah faithful will outnumber the Alabama fans, or make up for the difference by simply being louder.

What I count on is a solid Utah defense and overall team poise to do what is has done all year keeping the Utes in the game until the end. If the game is close, the Ute offense has shown the ability to mount a drive that has won games. I hope it does not come down to a final drive, but the Utes surely have the experience.

Go Utes!!

The Greek | 6:32 p.m. Dec. 18, 2008
Utah is likely the 2nd best team Alabama will play this year (after Florida). The predictions of "Alabama by 35" are absurd.

Alabama struggled with then #16 LSU, for example, and Utah has every chance at winning this game.

I see Utah pulling it off with a 2-point conversion to win in OT.

BYU will beat Arizona in a shootout, by 7.

TCU will prevail over BSU, 27-17.

You read it here first.
Re-BAMAFAN | 11:14 a.m. Dec. 19, 2008
Bamafan, thanks for the recognition regarding the intensity of this rivalry. It truly is crazy. After every Utah game, the BYU fans call in, and vice versa for the BYU games. It is nothing short of absolutely nutso. This rivalry truly divides households. My wife and are on opposite sides and have never watched the game in the same house, we value our marriage too much to even try. Not the best rivalry due to lesser implications, but I pity anyone that is involved in a more intense rivalry.
See you in NO, and are looking forward to a great game against the Tide.
Go UTES!
Sharjah Cougar | 10:45 a.m. Dec. 20, 2008
Good luck Utah and TCU. Go Cougars. And, please quit picking on Hawaii. There are plenty of other teams in history that have lost big in their bowl games. There are plenty of other schools that year that would have liked to have had a shot at a BCS game.
Go Utes! | 10:53 p.m. Dec. 20, 2008
Let's at least look better on national TV than BYU did tonight against Arizona!

That was a big step back for the case for the MWC being able to play with teams from the bigger conferences.

Beat 'Bama! Or, at least keep it close.
Error in Article | 5:52 p.m. Dec. 21, 2008
Its now 6-2 MWC vs PAC-10....thanks to BYU.

Why, because BYU is just BYU.
