Apparently they are unaware of, or choose to ignore, the following facts:
a. Legislative sessions start on a date set by the Utah Constitution, not some date picked by racist politicians to dishonor Dr. King.
b. Utah voters approved a change to the Utah Constitution to start the legislative session the week AFTER King's birthday, and the 2009 session starts on January 25th.
c. The Legislature has held ceremonies honoring Dr. King for the last several years when they were legally required to be in session on that day.
However, the Legislature will be in session on Presidents' day, an amalgamation combining celebration of the birthdays of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. T
here is no public outcry over that, so I guess the diversity bullies get their way and some Americans are more important that others.

Many of us Californians over the last ten years have been flocking out of the state. If "diversity" were such as wonderful thing it would still enjoy the high standard of living it once had.
Many of us former Californian like Utah the way it is. We enjoy schools and neighbors who understand each other and have similar ideals.
What amazes me is the fact that these "liberals" all run around claiming diversity, then when the place is overflowing with "diversity" they all want out. So they move to another less diverse state and try to make the same mess there.
We have many states that are now diverse and were native American born residents are now longer even the majority. Can't we have just a few places where those who liked the way the U.S. used to be can go?
