I'm tired of all the trolls who post on church sites. I think it's time the church excommunicates members who have such a low opinion of our great church. I'm so tired, tired, tired! ALL troll need to find another pass-time and repent or GO AWAY....SCAT GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sad that people question the LDS Church's motives but then call members hostile for wanting to explain or defend those motives. If you're actually interested in dialogue about what we believe or what our motives are, then you need to remember that dialogue is a two-sided conversation. We are just as entitled to our view as you are to your own.

Why is it that those who are the most "concerned" about how the First Presidency is using tithing funds are the least likely to pay it?

Many who criticize the church for how it spends its funds are a lot like Judas who had the gall to lecture the Savior on how expensive spikenard should not have been used to anoint the Lord's feet, but should have rather been given to the poor.

Members who post here should probably restrain themselves from thinking they have to justify every expenditure that the church makes. You don't owe them that. Move along.

The purpose of temples is not only to perform work for the dead--living ordinances are very important. Also, members of the Church can perform work for their ancestors, which we believe will help families maintain eternal ties. I treasure these ordinances and the temple is very important to me.

I am sorry that you have gotten a negative impression of our religion from reading these comments. However, I hope you will keep in mind that often the people who persist with their comments on discussion forums are those with extreme views. As members of this Church we are asked to be tolerant and love all people, no matter their views. I like to believe that most members try their best to live these principles.

The poor will always be with us.

We could give every penny we have to the poor and there would still be poor people. Why? Many reasons. Bad decisions, bad luck, laziness, sickness, disabilities, and the inability to understand that to be paid, you must do something someone is willing to pay for.

If God wanted to, He could remove all poverty from the world. Some people need to be humbled, others need to learn from their mistakes, and the poor among us give us an opportunity to treat them with dignity and give them a chance.

But before we stop building temples, why not donate the money that would have been used to make a few of these meaningless movies that Hollywood is putting out? I'm sure no one would miss them.

Your kind and methodical response is appreciated. After reading your response I did a bit of "googling". I can understand why, in the eyes of your Faith, your Temples are so important to you. From a Catholic to a Mormon, I wish you and those you hold dear a joyful and happy Christmas Season.

The Chileans were lobbying years ago for another temple, but 3 other South American countries have now passed them up. It must make them jealous, but their day will come. Trujillo LDS members have shown themselves devoted enough to deserve their own temple.
