Aim for the stars. | 4:09 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Brent Guy said a lot of right things to when he first took the gig he even brought in some of his jewelry from past championships and talked about how that was what he was all about. Bringing a conference championship back to Logan, never happened.

We're hearing similar promises from Coach Andersen. But it's exactly what you want to hear anyway. I've always been told that its better to aim for the stars and miss than aim for a pile of dog poo and hit it. So whether Gary Andersen will fail or succeed only time well tell. But one thing I do know is that he is aiming for the stars and not the pile of dog poo. And for now that is the most important thing in this Aggie's mind.
Great Choice | 4:13 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008
Congratulations Utah State for hiring a great football coach. I personally think that Gary Anderson is a great choice for Utah State. He is an outstanding coach and recruiter, who will focus on in state athletes. My son, who is now a high school coach himself, played for Coach Anderson at SUU and regards him very highly. He is a dynamic leader, a straight shooter, and an excellent teacher.

>>>TCU is the best team in the MW and everyone knows it...

I don't know that. In fact, I know the opposite. TCU got up by 10 points in the first five minutes and then was completely shut down by Utah for the rest of the game.

But, TCU is better than any team in the WAC.

I am also a USU alumni and supporter. I applaud this selection. You are referring to Kent Baer and Chico Canales. Sorry, but the worst thing you could do is hire someone just because they are former Cache Valley boys. That is just a Cache Valley mentality. Neither of them would make a good head coach. There is a reason that the 58 year old Baer has NEVER been a head coach. We'll see where they end up versus Gary Anderson.

Welcome GA, and GO AGGIES !!

Hey Coach Andersen: your first order of business should be to pick up the phone and thank Brent Guy for leaving you a competitive football team and a $100,000 plus salary increase. Yeah ok, you showed up in Logan and sprewed out a bunch of dialoge about how you are now the self proclaimed Aggie football savior-I was impressed at first but turned off after you started repeating yourself over and over. My guess is that you are going to win five or six games next season and you are going to be the toast of Aggie Nation. I also expect your stock is going to skyrocket within the coaching fraternity as the guy who resurrected a perennial doormat of a football program. Thats fine-I guess; but I am extremely disappointed that nobody has acknowledged the fact that Brent Guy had the "guts" to take on the Aggie coaching job knowing full well that he had absolutely nothing to work with and the losses where going to pile-up! Brent Guy, through a lot of hard work and commitment, made significant improvements with the program. Pick up the phone and, at least, tell Brent Guy thank you!!!!

Oklahoma in the Fiesta? No problem.
Oregon on the road? Hammer time.
New USU coach making threats? Now we are worried! LOL!!!!
Seriously, just because we comment on it we are somehow equated with being "worried"??!!!! ROTFL!!!!!!!!
Yeah, good luck with that. The smack talk has done wonders for Idaho.

Wouldn't it be nice if Utah State started winning some games against the Utes and BY-who. As a big Utes fan I never like to see them lose but I would really like to see Utah state become as big of a rivalry as By-who is to the Utes. If you check the stats Whittingham has only gotten better every season at Utah. I really see that with Coach Anderson. If Utah State's athletic department starts dumping more money into their football progam it will improve. Best of luck Aggies, you deserve to have a great football program.
Go UTES!!
