What a wonderful, touching story -- it made me cry! I'm glad that this
woman has her little dog to keep her going. It just shows how important pets can
be to us. Thanks for your column, Cathy. We always enjoy it.

Interesting article, but lame title - could be interpreted either way, as you
should get a pet if you're lonely or pets are a poor substitute if
you're lonely so don't get one.
